M&T Bank Stadium really blows.....
CentralVaBills replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two positives though........ The dude did belt out a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. And they have their own band. Something I've only seen in Washington and Kansas City. Kinda neat to see a throwback thing like that! -

Amen, I mean, come up with your own original stuff. The first down "chain thing" and the borrowed "we must protect this house" crap was old fast. They have nothing to really signify they won the SB (for the most part) either. Weak! -

LOL, gimme a break....there was no noise, hardly at all. The Bills couldn't handle themselves, not the noise! No stevestojan most people walk. They walk from a few blocks away where the parking is generally $30. So, not only is the parking way over-priced, but the ticket prices are ridiculous also. And, all of the lots around the stadium are permit only, so you have to bend over and get raped if you park in any "fan" lots. And, don't get me wrong, I'm OK with paying that, because I was told beforehand, but it's ridiculous. Again, almost EVERY stadium in the NFL has great views. So, big friggin deal, that is to be expected nowadays. And yes, you are right......Baltimore has alot of tradition.....which is even more the reason why the place sucks even more. All of the good tradition is lost with the Colts......and they were a stalwart of the old NFL. I wish the NFL would have left the name in Balt. So, there's a statue of Unitas and that's about it. Then you look up on their cheesy ass Wall of Fame, and they have names like Ernest Byner and Michael McCrary up there. Gimme a break. M&T isn't bad.........esp the sound and scoreboards.......other than that, they've missed out on what the NFL is all about. This is a sub-par NFL experience. By far! -
Let's try it this way....... I've been blessed to go to and work at many......here's a starter to just get it going a little bit........ This is for atmosphere..........not for stupid stevestojan like sight lines and stuff.....all stadiums now, for the most part have good sightlines.....but overall experience, that's what I'm looking for. Somewhere you've been where you thought the fans were cool, or something at the place was cool or tailgating or the setup or whatever. Anyway, here's my top 10. 1. Green Bay - Their so good at football tailgating, they almost make Brewers games fun beforehand. 2. Buffalo - The blue collar set-up and atmosphere is unlike any other. It's kinda dirty and you gotta love all the all goofy characters and in-stadium atmosphere. 3. Kansas City - See Buffalo, but with a touch more sophistication. The area around the two stadiums in KC is set up for great tailgating. 4. Denver - Mountain people with educations. They do things the right way also. It sems like these are sophisticated people that still act like idiots. Pretty cool. 5. Pittsburgh - Bar none, the best totally urban tailgating going. They'll eat anywhere and everywhere, and the Steeler fans can still whoop it us with the best of em. I was there once....Browns and Steeler fans were playing a pickup game in the parking lot. A Browns fan went deep....and caught the ball over his shoulder and ran into a cement girder from the interstate overpass and was knocked out......everyone paused in shock, and as the Steeler fans gathered around, they started their "Here we go Steelers, her we go" chant. LMAO Priceless. Ummmm, the Browns fan........he made the catch as the ball came to rest on his chest/arms. 6. Cleveland - I havne't been to the new one in Cleveland, but the old one was something outta the Buffalo mold. I imagine alot of it carried over. 7. Chicago - I haven't been to the new one, but Soldier Field was pretty good. I was there when the Bears were playing the Pack and Vikes so it was amplified a little bit, but nonetheless, pretty good. 8. Miami - Yeah, I know, but the only reason I have them on here is because, my god some of the women are hot around that place. And it's usually skimply clothes all the time. Or so it seemed. 9. New England - I was only there once, and didn't get to look around much, but besides traffic nightmares, the lots seemed to be jumping and have that big game feel to it. 10. NY Jets - I like the atmosphere at the Meadowlands for Jets games. The fans there seem to be more blue collar than the Giants fans and can whoop it up IF the Jets have a good team. Bottom Five 1. Indy - For such a good team, the NFL experience blows. 2. Carolina - Talk about borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring. 3. Atlanta - Worst sports town, period. 4. Minnesota - this isn't so much because of bad fans, because they are pretty passionate......but the stadium is THE WORST in the NFL. Ugly, dingy, dirty, and in a horrible setting to set up the excitement. 5. Arizona - there just aren't enough people to make that place work! lol

BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING! Redskins fans in waiting. It's a yuppie, boring ass crowd. Disappointed to say the least. Nothing overly wrong, just flat out not exciting at all. -

The new things it has are nice. They should be. But the place is borrrrrrrrrrrring. I've been in many club levels, and even the owners levels in Charlotte. They are amazing. However, they add nothing to the experience to most fans. So that's not even factored in. As for the field, it did look clean and neat. However, there was nothing really on it, and it kind of fit in with the overall blah of the stadium. The purple seats are kinda cool. Gives the place a hometown feel. Kinda like being at Heinz field in Pittsburgh. Except you could go blind in Heinz when the seats aren't filled. No doubt Baltimore is nicer than FedEx. FedEx is a dump. But I wasn't impressed. The overall experience of a Ravens football game is borrrrrrrrrrrring, unless you are there to schmooze, which I'm not. -

No way. The stadium is nice because it's brand new. And there are no more stadiums, especially new one's that have bad sight lines for the most part. So, all of that stuff should be a given. And it is in the cookie cutter mold. That was also disappointing. I did say like 25 times that the scoreboards are unmatched. They even had marble Ravens heads around those columns also. And yeah, I did foget, the sound system was awesome. No doubt. But damn, it's new, it should be. And that is to be expected. However, it was VERY VERY boring. Good sightlines are a given anywhere now. The crowd sucked on when they got into the game, and the endzones weren't even all that fired up. The fan enthusiasm blows. The tailgating is wretched. The "we must protect this house thing" is OK, but it's borrowed from TV. It's just a commercial, complete with the under armor seal on the scoreboard. But even with that, every team in the NFL has something cool that they produce in house. So, to me, that stuff is expected. As with the original shout song. No one really even talks about the game, and there are TONS of marginal fans who just go to Ravens games just to say they went. They are nothing more than boring-ass Redskins fans in the making. Nothing grossly wrong with football in Baltimore, it's just not a great NFL experience by any means. I was totally disappointed. From the places I've seen, I would rate them somewhere between like 22-26 in the NFL. And that disappointed me, because I thought they would be the blue collar fans who don't go to Redskins game. Not at all. -

Guys Fez, guys! Come on man. NFL cheerleaders serve absolutely no purpose in the pros as it is. Not saying I don't look, esp when the atmosphere is pretty boring like it is in M&T. They aren't good at what they do. Why the hell would they have guys out there in the pros? lmao, ummmmmmmmm, YUCK -

Ummmm, yeah, from what I saw they did look pretty good, however, they had friggin guys for christs sakes. I can see having them in college, but christ they look gay in the pros! -
I got your throwbacks right here............ Take the sickening looking, goofball white road jerseys, and throw them back to whoever made them, and make some new one's. We are the laughing stock of the NFL in almost every aspect. Bring back the oldies!

I was at the game. Now, to preface these comments, I will say this......they have the NICEST scoreboards in the NFL. Bar none. I did some work for TV, and have seen many, but these things are awesome. That said, the tailgaters suck. The lots around the stadium don't fill until about 11:15 or so. They are all permit anyway. And if you find one for the common folk, the going rate anywhere near was $30. The tailgating was pretty lame, and the mood is tranquil. Not to say some didn't have nice spreads, but overall it's a D+. Inside the stadium itself, it was painfully boring. Nothing cool at all inside the stadium to look at besides the scoreboards. Actually, it's cool that the seats are purple, but that's about it. The place obviously has no tradition or anything so it's pretty boring. All of the seats are divided into little sections of railed in seats, so it looks like the whole bottom level is divided into little boxes of about 1,000 fans each. Crappy. C-, mainly because of how nice the scoreboards are. The fans themselves suck too. The place never really got juiced. It was a little juiced when Sanders ran back the TD, but overall, it sucked. No one really talked about playcalls, or the game at all. Also, didn't get hell at all, for wearing Bills gear. It was nice not to be hassled at all, but gee, cmon, yell something at me for christs sakes. D+ Overall, a VERY boring and lackluster NFL atmosphere, especially compared to a Buffalo, KC, Green Bay or Pittsburgh....all of which I've either been to or worked at. Overall, I rate the NFL experience in Baltimore a C-

So I play the game every week on Madden 04...

Damn, I thought your next post would have been telling us about that new message board you were going to start. I know you've been working on it for a long time. Keep us informed! -
Never said pro bowlers. But christ, gimme a fuggin starter out of group of players that you have coached for TWO YEARS.
-
I mean seriously. You talk about unreal. All girlfriend looking types too. Stephanie Abrams, Hillary Andrews, Jen Carfagno, and there are more, I just can't think of them off the top of my head. Even the two older ladies on in the morning are hot. Heather Tesch and that one woman who always talks about travel weather. I found her, the other older hottie is Alexandra Steele. lol I would LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE to work there. Could you imagine all of them walking around? Which one would you stare at? A bigger question.....I wonder how many of them Jim Cantore has banged? lol
-
Yeah, at times, and a lot of crucial one's at that, they pretty much do look like they coach themselves.
-
OK, so outside of Schobel, can I please get a legit starter? Or is that too much to ask in 4 years? TD carries some blame there also. Still have no DE's. No DT's outside of what we bought or had. No LB's at all have been developed. No safeties. LOL, he's a joke. But how about the guys we had to buy? Posey, Fletcher, Spikes, Milloy, Vincent, Adams? Seems as all the impact guys have nothing to do with Gray at all. Gray is a joke!

If we beat the Ravens on Sunday
CentralVaBills replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ummmm, noticed my IFS about three times in my post. And again, IF we win this game....which their offense is as bad as ours.............IF IF IF IF, .500 is certainly an obtainable goal, easily. Arizona, and then, yes, the Jets will go down. .500, IF we win this weekend. Do I think we'll win this weekend? Probably not, but IF, then .500 is coming!
