knock it off. you bastards are just trying to piss off the cablelady.

This one might need a little more research. I believe the longest TD reception in Bills history was Jack Kemp to Glen Bass for 96 yards. help me out bros... is this correct?

dude... the first thing we need to do as bills fans is get off our high horse as we we remove our rose colored glasses. That said... 1) Travis hasn't caused one goddamn problem. The media has, baited and way overstated both Willis and Travis. 2) Travis is not a top 15 back. We were all conned on this, self included. A top 15 back is a difference maker... one who makes gold out of dust... manufactures yards on their own where thre is no yards to be had... one who smells endzone and scores touchdowns. 3) Travis is a smashmouth running back in a brittle body. He's had a broken leg, ankle problems, torn rib cartliage, an arthritic knee (bone had to be shaved, but the arthritis will be back), and now in his 4th season, has only played a full season once. At one point he was compared favorably to Emmitt Smith. Both are similar in stature, but Travis cannot take the punishment Emmitt can take, 4) Travis, for a small guy, does not have they speed or lateral quickness you'd like to see in a back like he is. he has the straight away quickness but if the hole ain't there, he can't adjust. 5) He has mental lapses and misses assignments...ie, missed blitz pickups, blocks... although he is a willing blocker. He also puts the ball on the carpet too often So, in mid February, the Free agent running back list is going to look somethng like this.......... Michael Bennet, Shaun Alexander, Lamont Jordan, Edgerrin James, Jesse Chatman, Amos Zeroue, Emmit Smith, Eddie George, Correll Buckhalter, James Mungro, and Dominick Rhodes, Travis Minor. So.... think this over real good. There are 31 other NFL teams. Of those 31 teams, about 8 of them need to acquire a starting calibre running back and 4 of those teams will get their wish from the above list. Throw in Ricky Williams and a 5 of the 8 are going to fill their need . There are at least 3 running backs projected as 1st round picks... not counting any juniors that might declare for the draft. So venture a guess there could be as many as 6 RBs taken in the draft... so those other three teams stand a good chance at filling their RB position. So, pretend I am a talented NFL GM from one of the following NFL teams... Cleavland Philadelphia San Francisco Miami Oakland Detroit Indianapolis Seattle Now, sell me as to why I would want to give up the 33rd-64th pick in the draft for a banged up, injury prone, noted fumbler, and a player that is a "problem" as you suggest, that his team has to get rid of... and at that, a RB that is under contract for only next season and then free to go elsewhere? Sell me... I'm all ears.

Another take on Bledsoe/ offensive efficiency
DeeRay replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Basically, I take it that this computation, calculation or whatever concludes what 90% of us have been saying for well over a year... Drew sucks. Really? Who would have known? We had no idea. -
Plain and simple... Bills must "run the table". They can control that. They can't control the outcomes of other games...so they need to worry about their opponents, play their best, and hope it's enough. Now... every year the playoff run around this time, and it seems every year, a team that is close, and even sometimes a team that's a frontrunner, loses a player to injury that changes the whole complexion of things. Example: last year Philly loses Westbrook.... essentially, their season is over. Will the injury jinx strike again and who will it affect, and how? SanDiego is cruising. They can live if LT goes down, but if Brees goes down... game over. Pittsburgh is riding Rothlisburger... They can't live without him... but the same could be said if the BUS blows a tire because Deuce won't hold up... Bills? If either Sam Adams or McGahee goes down... call in the dogs. Jets? If Martin or Robertson goes down it's over. Pats? If Brady goes down, the Titanic has sunk. If Bruschi goes down, they have big problems... but they've overcome those sort of things before on D and still have been able to create enough smoke and correctly place the mirrors to withstand that. Denver? If the snake goes down, so do the Broncos. They might be able to steal a game... but their demise is close at hand. Indy? Peyton doesn't get hurt... but if he does? end of story. If Marvin Harrison were to get hurt, it would automatically factor out having to double this monster... and Peyton wouldn't have Stokely and Wayne running free. Couldn't/can't take out the Pats with Harrison and wouldn't make it to that game without him. So, who do you think the players are that their team could ill afford to lose on the cusp of the playoffs?

If Vincent comes back this week...
DeeRay replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TV better hope he has the respect of the players cuz it's obvious the fans are going to make him earn their respect... I think TV needs to earn his playing time... just like TeeMac, RB, and the rest. I would not oppose him working the dime for a few weeks... and see where that takes the Bills. -
If you read only 1 playoff scenario thread,
DeeRay replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mr. Kelso... please report back to us next Monday. -
What seems to be the problem? Green's got a team that ain't gonna challenge for a playoff spot. His QBs, apparently have not been producing. This is his "free pass" rebuilding season, so he should do what he thinks is best. If anyone knows QBs... he should... he's had success with just about anyone he plugged in in Minnesota... including Jeff George, and Sean Salisbury... two of the NFLs most renowned losers. Since his team is going nowhere, why not experiment.... start the 2005 preseason now. When he goes to Mr. Bidwell after the season and says... "Bill, we need a QB". He will have prima facia eveidence that he's right... he doesn't have a QB.... and just maybe the Cards enter the Drew Brees Derby. I don't see why anyone should have a problem with a coach, who is in the beginning stages of totally rebuilding the team and starting from square one. He can make any moves he wants. Next year is a different story... the bar will be raised a notch higher and in his third year, a lot higher...

Can we get a 1st for Travis Henry and our 2nd?
DeeRay replied to Losman-McGahee-Evans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude... what team is that stupid? please name me one. Who is Travis Henry???? Well, if I'm a team looking to acquire a RB, Henry is on my list... but underneath his name, the comments read... 5 years in league. played one full season. has had knee problem, arthritis... had surgery for this has had ankle problems Torn rib cartilage Broken bone in each leg becomes FA after 2005 season. So... let me see should the Bills or some toehr team give up a 1st round choice to aquire Duece Staley and a 2nd round pick? That is basically what you're saying... I'm sorry, someone is smoking crack if they think Henry garners anything higher than a 5th rounder... and if some crazy bastard dangles a number 4 in front of me I wouldn't think twice about taking that deal. -
well, since I seem to always miss getting the memo on stuff like this... are you going to share with me the consistency the Bills have shown. What I'd like to actually chew on is DATA... or are you just blowing smoke out of your arse? They lose 4 straight, win 1, lose 1, win 2, lose 1, win 2... where is that consistency... if it's w's and l's you're talking about... then I see they are more consistent at losing than they are at winning. So WTF are you talking about? Can you present your evidence to us? Put up or shut up!
-
Goodness gracious. I must be missing something. Can you please point out to me those games in which "For the first time in years the Bills are consistently controlling the play in games". I would really like to take note of this... consistenly controlling the play in games. The Bills have now won two in a row... consitence = 2 games???
-
Right... usually completing 3 passes to the opposition and one TD pass to one of your own doesn't garner consideration for this award.... but, I tend to forget that the "fools gold" crowd er, uh aka, the "Bledsoe Koolaid Gang" get very excited when he has a somewhat decent game against a poor defense. I'm surprised you and the rest of the gang haven't ordered up his HOF bust... or maybe you already have and I just didn't get the memo. Well, there are 5 games left... and begining this week in Miami, will the Bills be able to string two straight road games together despite Drew? BTW... I was in a KMART over the W/E.... they have several Bledsoe jerseys available. I passed, but have you put yours on lay-away yet? It's a good opportunity to get a backup jersey just in case you stain your good one with koolaid.

For those who wanted to see Losman
DeeRay replied to CoachChuckDickerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sheer brilliance coach.... I don't think you remember RJ very well. 1/1 for 17 yards... in garbage time... and no sacks, no ints. ... yes... we all can clearly see the similarity. -
Isn't this a bit like saying that when you go to buy that 2000 Maxima, you'll take into account the front end damage from 2003, the side damage in 2003, and more front end damage from 2004... but since it wasn't entered into a demolition derby, it is a superb value. OK, so normally the car might book for $12,000... so, my name is Teflon Tom... your friendly used car salesman. Just because you're a good guy and I like you, I'm going to shave $2,000 of the regular price. Right.... there are a multitude of us that believe TH has trade value... OK, what is that value. This is his 5th season and he's only played one season w/o missing time due to injury. He's broken his leg twice in successive seasons... not to mention nagging injuries which, in part, accelerated his benching in favor of McGahee. So, what is TH's trade value? Let's be real here, no more fantasizing... no team is going to actively and seriously pursue TH and be willing to part with more than a 5th rounder. TH will play out next year in Buffalo and become a FA... just like the underappreciated Duce Staley, Stephen Davis, Sammy Morris, Dorsey Levens, Amos Zeroue, Tyrone Wheatley, Charlie Garner, and on and on.

As Bledsoe's #1 "blaster", I will give him his due today. He had a very good game, which I never thought I would say. So, here's to you Drew!!! BUT... I'll caution the "Drew Fan Club"... Trust me, this performance was "fools gold". Let's not foget Drew also threw 3 pix and was hardly pressured. Even the sack Price gave up, I could not believe that Drew could not sense that the opposing DE was bearing down on him. All he had to do was step forward... and let us not forget, Seattle, like the Rams... is a horrible team and they're banged up... especially on defense. So, let's put the game in perspective... It was a much needed "W" on the road for the Bills. It is still hard to "measure" this team in terms of where they stand as a team... "contender" or "pretender". Will they once again disappoint us in Miami after winning two in a row like they did after wins against the Jets and Cards, only to totally meldown in New England? Stay tuned... this week's game against the Fins will tell the truth. The Fins are still a force on D and can force Drew into being Drew... and Drew gives Miami their best chance to score points. A win in Miami may signal the Bills have turned the corner. However, a loss in Miami will mean the same ole, same ole... no where near ready for prime time.

We know, we know. the bledsoe blasts get posted a bizillion times a day... there must be a reason. The reason is the Bills bigest story of the season is Bledsoe's play... or lack thereof. You think only this BB is running with this story? Think again... no matter what corner of the country I talk to people... Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvanoa, Illinois... knowing I'm a Bills fan, the first topic is always WTF is up with Bledsoe....and I comeback, what do you mean? They say they think he's finished. I say geez, I haven't heard that. So... get used to it... this is no different than the Todd Collins and Rob Johnson Debacles. It will die when Bledsoe gets the final heave-ho. The only reason some folks don't like the anti Bledose rhetoric is because he's a name QB which the media created and they're not smart enough to realize it. As a result, these folks think he should be nominated first for the hall of fame and then later on for sainthood. I look at his production and think... gee, nothing like watering down what it means to be in the HOF or being a saint.

Sorry to bring the subject of football up.....
DeeRay replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
dude... the bills have found their offense... they just don't call it the offense, they call it "special teams". Special circumstances call for special measures. -
The man is just trying to do the right thing. He knows he can help the team better by staying in the locker room and keeping things tidy.

Please allow me to throw this out... why is it that everytime a marriage goes into crisis is the "D" word the first thing that's brought up as the solution. It may ultimately be what needs to be done. However, do people quit their jobs everytime they have a major crisis with their employer? Hell no... you sit down and work things out... have a "clearing" and agree on how things can/will be worked out. People don't realize the collateral damage a divorce causes... not just between close family and friends, but most important, the children. There's a reason your sister is being cheated on... it could be she cheated... it could be that she's a B word and treats him like stevestojan and this is his way of striking back. And, it could very well be that he's an !@#$. The "trust" in this marriage has been broken. It's your sister, of course, so you are partial and taking sides... but before your sister starts to think divorce and taking his ass to the cleaners out of spite and revenge, the first thing she and he need to do is see if things can be worked out... hopefully through a licensed marriage counselor who will be able to get the two of them together and set aside the emmotions and get down to the nitty gritty of figuring out what happened, why it happend and move forward on where they go from here. Bottom line... it takes two to tango and there are always two sides to every tale. You only know one side.

and it clearly shows a rams defender clearly preparing to cut willis at the knees. someone needs to speack with coach martz about this.

Oh my God... what a difference a week makes. Last week was the lowest of the low and Bledsoe adds an exclamation point to his miserable play by stinking out the joint... just about everyone has written his epitaph. Fast forward one week later... Drew, at home, rides a suberb special teams performance and has a decent game against arguably the worst defense in the league and a depleted secondary. Now all of a sudden there are images of sugar plums dancing in our heads. WTF??? This can only be because the Christmas season causing this. Take off the rose colored glasses folks. Al Gore lost the 2000 election, Scott Norwood was wide right, and, no, Jimmy Hoffa ain't coming home for dinner tonight. Bledsoe = Zero Bledsoe = Home for the Holidays Bledsoe = High draft pick for Dallas
-
this makes the most sense... but the bills will still need to bring in a vet QB... and they may have no choice but to go with another June 1 cap casualty QB... unless of course they trade for someone. Who knows... we could end up with fiedler, batch, maddox, miller, or whoever... I think we all agree though... bledsoe is a horrid value @$6M/yr... He's a bad value at $1M too. Hell, Danny Kanell is more serviceable than Drew. In hind sight, the Bills should have brought in Volek at the $2.5m tag, got rid of bledsoe and still drafted losman.... let those two fight it out and let the chips fall where they fall.
-
No The only thing I watch on cable TV is either news, or football) no more csi cuz cbs pissed me off).... there's plenty of that on cable.... and for $25/month I can have 50 hookups in the house if I want. I'm still missing something.... but at least it aint $150
-
OK... I got a serious question about sirius. I know it's essentily "direct radio". If that's the case... 1) why do I need this? 2) why would I piss away $150/year to listen to a single radio... something that might get listened to an avg of 10 hrs./week plus, if I want to get special chanels I get the pleasure of paying more? I get "free radio now ... AM/FM and I can fit 180 MP3's on a single CD and if I've got a 10cd player in my trunk, that's 1800 tunes. If each tune is an avg. 2 & 3/4 minutes, thats 82.5 hours of tunes. So, I could go driving in my car for 3 1/2 days without sleep and never hear the same tune twice. What am I missing?
-
He can hit up to 50? Right... maybe on the moon with a 30 mile an hour wind behind him.
