  1. And now..with the Browns at 6-3 with a home game vs Pittsburgh on Sunday..after waiting YEARS And YEARS to be in real contention....Deshaun Watson out for the season. After having already lost Nick Chubb. They start rookie Dorien Thompson-Robinson at QB.
  2. Unrelated. Just how the conversations have evolved. Been reading for a long time, decided to join the discussions. There is plenty of blame to go around. I don't think Allen is the only problem. I think I challenge the notion that he isn't one of them. And by one them..I just mean his current level of play isn't good enough. You can complete 7 of 10 all day but if 1 of other 3 are consistently caught by the other team, its not getting it done. Punts win games, INT/fumbles do not. Most of all, i don't like what I'm seeing in his demeanor. Defeatist. Despair. He's the leader of the team. Gotta show it at ALL times. He's one of the best QB's in the NFL. He's not playing like it right now. He's not acting like it right now.
  3. To be fair..not many teams get that stop. If a team needs a FG to win/tie in the modern NFL, there is a greater than not chance they're going to get the attempt. Whether its on their own, or aided by officials/calls, the ball is getting moved. Great defense in the NFL doesn't mean what it used to. (though the trend of defense/run game seems to cycling back)
  4. Seriously?? Instead of losing Super Bowls, they lost AFC Championship games as part of their games with names. Red Right 88 (divisional round), the Drive, the Fumble...then they actually MOVED. Ceased to exist, not knowing at the time the team was coming back. And when it did, because of how well the Panthers and Jaguars had done as expansion teams with the advantages they were given, the Browns were handcuffed severely in an attempt to correct it. As they experienced true expansion seasons, the the team that left just 5 years earlier WON the Super Bowl. Then did it again.. while they've endured two and half decades of futility as they've attempted to get back what was taken from them. During that time, the coach that cut their beloved hero (Kosar), Bill Belichick, who was the coach when the team was stolen from them, won SIX Super Bowls. They had the Helmet Toss game with Dwayne Rudd. Bottlegate. They once lost a game by blocking a field goal too well..blocking a kick in OT at Pittsburgh on 3rd down but it didn't cross the line and the Steelers got to kick again on 4th down. They had to endure a winless season during a stretch where they went 1-31 amidst a larger stretch where they went 4-44. Since '99, theyve had only three winning seasons, two playoff appearances, lost a playoff game at their hated rival Steelers after leading 24-7 in the 3rd quarter and in their only other playoff season in 24 years, they couldn't attend the games because of a worldwide pandemic. The other winning season.2007..needed the Colts to beat the Titans on Sunday Night Football to get in, but the Colts sat Manning and played Jim Sorgi in the finale and the Browns were eliminated. Losing 4 Super Bowls would be a crowning achievement for Browns fans..yet here people sit sad-sacking it like they've endured so much. That 6 plus years of Bills football was glorious. How many HOF ceremonies have Bills fans gotten to enjoy? How many playoff runs? How many playoff runs the last few years? Hell, even the almost seasons in Buffalo..all the 8-8's, 7-9's during the Bills drought would be enjoyable seasons for Browns fans. Sack up people. Bills are 5-5 and acting like the world has ended.
  5. I would think Browns fans might like a word with you.
  6. He's older. Scored a few touchdowns. Is no longer the underdog lifting a franchise into relevancy. And the league is learning how to contain him. Its what it does. He also now faces criticism. He is playing with expectations. Some very unrealistic expectations.
  7. Move on?? No way. There isn't but a handful of QB's with his talent in the NFL right now. Think he's a generational player who can just carry a team to multiple Super Bowls? No. Even Mahomes can't do that alone. There is Mahomes........................................................................then that handful. That's where Allen is and unrealistic expectations of him aren't going to help matters. No. I'd do what this staff has attempted to do. Reign him in and make him a better overall QB. He's not cooperating.
  8. Allen is closer to Justin Herbert than he is Patrick Mahomes.
  9. If he's leading in passing and rushing..thats a major issue with the offense. And if he's leading the offense in rushing and hurdling people, eventually your "generational talent" is going to be on the sideline taking up a huge chunk of your cap while some no name leads you nowhere. Because that no name isn't going to lead you in rushing and won't do much in the pass game either. He's not a generational talent. A generational talent wears #15 and plays in KC. He's just a very talented kid with major holes in his game. Nothing wrong with that. He's one of the most talented QB's in the league. The problem is we're starting to see major holes in his makeup as well. He's not handling adversity all to well.
  10. DC's are smart. Very smart. They watch the film. They take away what you want to do and force you to adjust and do something different. Its up to the offense..up to the QB...to make the adjustment and take what is left to them. Do that well and it forces the defense to do something else..opening up what you did originally..what you want to do. Defenses know that Allen will throw it to them. No need to readjust. They know he'll beat them at times..a few plays here, a few plays there. But until he stops giving it away, they'll swallow their medicine on a few drives. Guys..his game isn't growing. If he has to be "freed" and allowed to do what he wants, thats not growth. Because teams aren't going to let that happen. You can harp on coaching all you want...and yes, coaches had issues..but Allen needs to grow his game. He needs to stop pouting and looking lost and moping through a press conference and the turnovers have to stop. I don't think they will. This is who he is. He's not a savior. He's a highly talented kid with major flaws. And teams are exploiting those flaws.
  11. Not only is he in the top 100..he's in the top 2.
  12. QB's turning it over at this rate aren't elite.
  13. So he's throwing it to the other team and fumbling because he isn't free to play how he wants? He has more turnovers than games played. And we wonder why coaches are trying to hold him back a bit?
