from the AP: The IOC is in charge of boxing in Paris because the IBA has been banned from the past two Olympics because of years of governance problems, a lack of financial transparency and many perceived instances of corruption in judging and refereeing. The IOC has revoked the Olympic status of the IBA, which is controlled by president Umar Kremlev, who is Russian. He brought in Russian state-owned Gazprom as its primary sponsor and moved much of the IBA’s operations to Russia. The IBA has since lost more than three dozen members who have formed a new group called World Boxing, which hopes to be recognized by the IOC as the sport’s governing body ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The IBA has aggressively seized on the boxers’ presence in Paris to criticize the IOC. After the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the IOC’s ban earlier this year, the IBA appealed to the Swiss Federal Tribunal. The banned body issued a statement Wednesday in which it claimed both boxers did not have a “testosterone examination” last year but were “subject to a separate and recognized test” for their disqualification. The IBA said the test’s “specifics remain confidential,” refusing to explain it.

The IOC hasn't commented on genotype. The Russian board who disqualified them in another event claims XY but many are suspicious of their motives...imo the issue of genotype is unsettled. Perhaps the athletes will agree to a transparent test.

Not surprised MAGAs are arguing both sides of this issue. On one side, there's always a clear distinction between male and female. On the other side, sometimes there isn't and then you just go with your gut reaction as to what sex a person is. As far as I know, the chromosomal (genotypic) sex of this boxer has not been released. There have been reports of elevated testosterone levels. Hmmm, maybe gender assignment is not so simple. MAGAs always want simple explanations. Simple minds...

He tried and failed to stay in office on Jan 6. The Dartmouth witch tried to get him to say his statement was misinterpreted but he wouldn't. Just kept repeating the "Christians don't vote well" trope. I strongly suspect that we do not share a common definition for the MSM. I use many sources for my information and frequently go to primary sources (scholarly papers, video of statements, transcripts etc) especially regarding science issues but others as well.
