Democrat Convention 2024 (Chicago)
Joe Ferguson forever replied to B-Man's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Do you know? I'm guessing it was the end of democracy and a looming autocratic theocracy. -
remember this when arguing with MAGAs “Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Did some one put a gun to his head? Threaten to ruin his political career? What was the threat? Whatever strings were pulled, y'all should pull them on trump. -

It's not your party. It's ours. And we agree that he did the right thing. Rare but honorable. -

She was awesome. The prop is an allusion to a sacred book ie Theocracy. You got it subliminally even if you didn't realize it. -

Jason Isbell on now. Was supposed to headline a festival we had ticketsl for. He refused to come because masks weren't required at the event during Covid. We didn't go either. To their credit, the organizer refunded the tix. Don't know much of his music but I like drive-by truckers. -
I hope this excerpt from the piece is correct "If local officials refuse to certify results, “state courts will force them to do so,” says Rick Hasen, an election law expert at UCLA. In other cases, officials who refuse to certify will face fines and other penalties from state courts, or may be threatened with being removed from their positions, according to Derek Muller, a professor at Notre Dame Law School who has written about the issue of local certification of elections. The incidents of refusals to certify discovered by Rolling Stone “were localized, they were not particularly effective, and they were resolved relatively quickly,” Muller says. “It’s hard to think if that were a dress rehearsal for November that anyone would be very excited about the performance.” Still, widespread refusals to certify could generate fear and distrust in the system, and potentially inspire riots, according to Muller."

Firstly, D's generally don't see Biden as "our guy". Most folks, including me, were very happy when he dropped out and let someone else carry the ball. The party of trump is fully invested in the man, the pos, the wanna be legend...Secondly, the patterns are different because the diseases are likely different. Biden has Parkinsons which is sometimes accompanied by dementia. While trump clearly has narcissistic personality disorder I believe he also has signs of early Alzheimers - incoherent rambling, short term memory loss, word finding etc...

I don't live behind gates. I don't condone millions of immigrants entering illegally. There was this bipartisan bill to stem the bleeding. trump nixed it for political purposes...btw, I assessed Biden based on very limited observations. His Parkinsons was clearly deliberately hidden. And that sucks. trump's pathology is on ready display as he campaigns.

https://www.mediaite.com/trump/rambling-trump-rally-crowd-listens-quietly-as-trump-explains-at-length-how-he-doesnt-ramble/ This is cuckoo… I heard the other day – And this isn’t anything, I’m just saying. They’ll say ‘he was rambling.’ I don’t ramble. I’m a really smart guy. You know, I’m really smart. I don’t ramble. But the other day – any time I hit too hard, they say he was rambling. Rambling? You know, I get up, and I make a speech, I go for sometimes two hours, two and half hours because, you know, people are waiting outside for three days, four days. You guys were waiting out there for a long time! Front Row Joes are waiting, I don’t know how you guys do it. And I feel I have an obligation to speak, and speak in a certain way, and speak a little bit longer. You know, how would you like it, a guy’s waiting with his family for three and a half, four days. They have a tent and the tent is set up. They have hundreds of them, and they wait. And then I walk in, speak for 15 minutes and leave. I don’t know somehow, would that be okay, North Carolina? I don’t think so. Right. They want me to speak all day. You know, when I leave – I did one, two hours and 15 minutes and I’m leaving and they’re screaming, no, sir. More. We want to hear more. I can’t, I can’t speak more. What the hell else am I going to say? Our country is going to hell. That’s all I can say. We’re a nation in decline. You know, we were talking about that before. My phrases are copied so much, right? I use I use the term, often times in closing, we are a nation in decline. We are a failed nation. And I think it’s a beautiful phrase. Although I don’t like the topic very much, I don’t like what it represents. But there’s a certain beauty. All of a sudden all of these candidates, including Republicans, are saying we are a nation in decline. We are a failing nation. And I say, you know, what the hell do they have to copy me for? Right? But they have a lot of words that they copy. Many of our words. We were in the plane before coming in, and our people said we went through a list. I think we’re going to release a list, let’s release it. But so many of our phrases they copy. I should be really, that should be a nice thing, not an insult. But crazy Bernie Sanders has said a lot of things…

Trump 2024?
Joe Ferguson forever replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think the current polls (and most all polls) are about trends. Trends are important with 80 days left til the election. Polls told us Biden had to go. They tell you the rationale for decisions, for instance over 80% of D's were not satisfied with Biden as a candidate. 80% are with Harris.
