I am not old enough to remember the AFL. I have clear top games, though.
1. Buffalo 41 - Houston 38.
During the game, I knew that the Bills could be making History. It's still on the books.
2. Buffalo 30 - Kansas City 13.
I was at Michigan State at the time and took a lot of grief the week before this game. After the game, every time someone gave me crap, I put up 4 fingers as if I had been flipping 4 birds at people. I was flat out defiant. When someone asked me if I would be embarrassed if the Bills lost, I replied, "0 for 3, 0 for 4. Exactly how much worse could it possibly be?" It was liberating. And again, it was History.
3. Buffalo 51 - L.A. Raiders 3.
Obvious, right?
4. Buffalo 18 - San Francisco 13.
"...[F]irst division title since '66." My friends' parents were in tears after that game.
5. Day after SB XXV
I drove back to MSU after being in Buffalo for the game. There were 4 other Math Department grad students who were camped out in my driveway just to shake my hand because of the reception Scott Norwood got at the rally. People congratulated me for being a Bills fan all week.
6. Buffalo 22 - Miami 16 and Cincinnati 31 - Baltimore 27.
Now I know why 1980 was so special for our parents. And the rest of Bills Mafia afterward showed me why I was justified to quit playing bridge after people denigrated me for being a Bills fan at the Columbus, OH Bridge Club. Being a Buffalonian is more important than getting world championship bridge training from the trainer of Meckwell.

I hope that Josh has a winning record against NFC teams in the playoffs.

Josh's father taught his boy to play.
No one else can play his style,
So he's guaranteed to make Bills fans smile.
So let me introduce to you the QB above all his peers:
Joshua Allen's team and all its fans.

Happy birthday, @SDS! Thank you for TBD and SS.

We exposed Josh a lot. We turned the ball over too much. A good team will turn that against us fast. Great win, but it’s not sustainable. We don’t win that game if it’s vs the Titans.
What is stunning is we played that sloppily and still blew the Rams out at their home opener. Imagine if we were not sloppy.

Home made nachos for the family: chips, refried beans, cheese, jalapeños, salsa, and sour cream.

IIRC, the Bills have been one of the healthiest teams in the NFL over the last year or two or theeI credit the training staff for that.

hits ? What hits ? His vision was so good that I never saw him take a big hit. I rate him right up there with Barry & Jim Brown.
Let me quote OJ from the 35th Anniversary video: "Early in the game, you would bowl him...that would make it easier to juke him later on..." He ran inside a lot more than we remember.

Too easy Arcane. No more Grammar/Syntax police. It’s a flippin Bills fan board. Most of us post from our phones.

This is the kind of video which Star Trek trivia contests are made from.

With a QB like Allen, you have to figure his performance informed some of the decisions on stadium design. Cutting down on the wind has got to help the team while he is here.

Those who denigrate OJ's running are incorrect. He ran with power and he ran with speed. And the hits he took would eventually end his career. I can't recall him blocking -- then again, very few teams passed the ball even close to half the time.
I get that people want to minimise his contributions to the team in a very mediocre era in Bills history because of his alleged crimes. But he was one of the best football athletes I have ever seen.

I don't feel qualified to answer because I did not see Butch Byrd, Marlin Briscoe, and Cookie Gilchrist. The OP named some of the players I would have picked.

I don’t understand the argument. The young man died and is tragic, and the family doesn’t want to talk about it. Why speculate? They are just guesses.
How about say a prayer, meditate, whatever you do for the peace this family can live with a terrible loss. I’ve read some of the rumors, but it’s just cruel to the survivors.
Thank you.

I have never heard “Peter king” and “sound analysis” mentioned in the same sentence before!
From the mind of Peter King:
If I'm New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft, I have to say no to Bill Belichick now, hire Tom Donahoe to run the football side of business, and get on with my life. Because if I'm Bob Kraft, this is the thought process going through my mind today as the Jets stonewall my compensation offer for Belichick and refuse to budge from their demand of New England's first-round draft choice in April's draft: I am willing to give a man with a coaching record of 37-45 full authority over all my football operations by naming him coach and general manager. I am willing to pay him in excess of $3 million a year. And now I have to throw in my first-round pick? I'm already without my fourth-round pick this year, and I'm sure to lose a couple of valued players like Tedy Bruschi and Shawn Jefferson in free agency. Now I have to throw in the pick that could become Ron Dayne and may solve our dilemma at running back for the next five years? Maybe I wait a couple more days for the Jets to budge. Assuming they don't, I get on with my life.
What a find!

One thing I really like about the older games is that there are very few onscreen graphics. I hate the tickers and all the crap they overlay on the screen. It's very distracting and takes up screen real estate. I just want to see the game without all of that snazzy stuff. It's a much better viewing experience and really keeps you focused on the game.
I am glad that I am not the only one.

I really hope this all works out BUT, having been a fan since 1960, I will curb my enthusiasm for now.
Sage advice.

This article acts as if luck doesn't matter. I think the Bills' 1995 team was better than the 4 previous, but Andre Reed got hurt early, Marv went to the hospital, and then Bruce Smith caught the flu just before the Pittsburgh game.
On paper, if healthy, I think the Bills are the best team in the NFL. But the AFC is stacked, so any little problem will be magnified and we might have to go on the road again in the playoffs.

I voted 12-5 because the schedule looks tough. And I imagine that could be #1 in the AFC because of all the quality QBs.

You'll have to narrow it down a bit - Ricky Martin, Steve Martin, Max Martin, Chris Martin, Todd Martin, George RR Martin...?
Why not Martin Short, Martin Scorsese, Martin Sheen,...?

Still not sure what qualified him to be a GM
This is why I think people take the media's draft "gurus" way too seriously. They do their best, but most are not professionals for a reason.

Now that OBD has made their cuts and gotten the 53 man roster pretty much nailed down, wanted to see what the board thinks the personnel groups will be in various offensive formations. I used Sharps Personnel Grouping frequency to determine what our formation utilization looked like in 2021. So the following has groupings, possible personnel and usage last year:
10: 1 RB, 4WRs: Singletary, Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Crowder? Does Shakir take some plays away from slot? Bills ran this formation on 7% of downs in 2021. Do they use it more with a healthier group this year?
11 : 1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WRs: Singletary, Knox, Diggs, Davis, McKenzie. Early downs? Will they use Cook on 3rd and long and maybe use Crowder/Shakir in place of McKenzie. Bills ran this 71% of plays last year. With new OL and better run blocking does this formation see less use ?
12 : 1 RB, 2 TE, 2 WR: Moss, Knox, Sweeney/Morris, Diggs Davis. Used this on 8% of plays last year. This was primarily used in red zone and short yardage with an OL as the TE in short yardage packages.
21 : 2RB, 1TE, 2WR: Gilliam, Singletary, Knox, Diggs, Davis. The old pro set with Gilliam used as Fullback or H Back. Bills ran this on 10% of offensive plays last year. Will they use Moss and Cook as an Alternative pairing to force some LB coverage on Cook? Would require dressing 3 RBs besides Jones and Gilliam.
What effect will Dorsey and Kromer have on the offensive formations philosophy in 2022?
Nice breakdown of the personnel and frequency.
