It is about 19,500 seconds to the trading deadline, but who's counting.

    EDIT:

10:35 a.m., 25 minutes, plus five hours (60 minutes) gives you 325 minutes times 60 seconds, just incase some of you didn't believe me.

You know what's interesting? Joe Flacco just threw for 470 yards in a loss to the Bears. We gotta play them too.

I think Joe Burrow is really good.

I also have traditionally rooted for Joe Flacco.

However, with what Joe has been able to do in Cincy I have to ask...is Burrow really THAT good?

I am hoping that we get the Flacco that we played the year before when he was in Indy.

There is a very real possibility that the Eagles will have nothing to play for by week 17. They have all but won their division already and only the Rams threaten them for the #1 seed now that the Lions dropped a stupid one to Minnesota. But I would add @Texans to the list of tough games for the Bills. Their defense is for real.

Boy though, LP, if they are even 13-2 headed in to that game, if the Rams or someone else is 12-3 it is enough for it to matter to them.

2 more losses before then to the Hawks, Rams, Bucs and maybe the Packers would go a long way.

Watch out for the Ravens. They are getting healthy, so I expect them to go on a run. If they can beat the Steelers, then the division is still in play for them. Even though the Bills beat them in week 1 I still hope the Bills can avoid them in the playoffs if possible. They don't have a lot of depth but when healthy they have a really strong roster.

I hear you, but I still don't care that much.  They MAY even win the division, but if they go 6-2 (reasonable) they are still 10-7.  That's tough, even as a division champion.

They are not road warriors, either.

EDIT: I wouldn't love it, but I am fine if we have to go there at 11-6 or 12-5...still hoping for 14-3, though.

I do think the Bills and Bucs will win their games but the Falcons upsetting the Colts might be wishful thinking for Bills fans. Strange things happen with those overseas games with the time change. A Falcons upset win would be nice, but I wouldn't bet on it.

    Yeah.

Gregg, we have room for one more all season, and it can't be the Pats.

14-3 should be enough to take the Conference.  Colts will get dinged twice and the Pats HAVE to get dinged twice.

How sinfully hilarious it would be if in the year we beat the Ravens and the Chiefs we end up not only without HFA, but without a division title.

Chiefs still have Broncos (2), Chargers and Colts

Colts: Chiefs, jags (2), Hawks and Niners

Patriots: Bucs, Bills, Ravens (that is IT for them)

Ravens (who cares, even if they win the division, but still) Pats, Steelers (2), Packers

Bills: Bucs, Eagles, Pats, Steelers...need 3 out of 4,with one of them being the Pats

If the Falcons can upset the Colts on Sunday morning and the Bills and Bucs win their respective games later that day, then the Bills will be in great shape seeding wise.

Gregg, buddy, I am not laughing at you.

I am laughing because I want through that exact same possibility this morning before coffee!

    Go Bills!

Usually, it's entertaining to read the pregame thread on FinHaeven, but this week, it's just downright depressing. Pretty much all Fish fans want them to lose to hasten Mike McDaniel's exit:

    But this was hilarious:

common theme: "the Bills will have a let down after the Chiefs game."

    Normally I would say "maybe"

Yes, we are coming off of a big win, against KC, and are 6-2...but we are in second place by a half game and lose the tie breaker.

    No let downs here.

I think Calais wouldn’t do it. Wanted to head his career where it started. But I agree about him being a great fit— what an amazing player!

I am thinking Jalen Phillips from the dolphins, if they would trade with us.

Yeah Campbell would be perfect.  But I believe he chose to sign AZ because he wanted to finish his career where he started.  Maybe he has a home there?  IDK

I guess you have to wonder if playing meaningful games would be better than playing meaningless games in his preferred location.

Campbell, go back and sign a 1 day contract.  We are talking about finishing your last half with a perennial SB contender.

Ask Kyle Okposo how much he HATED winning the Cup with the Panthers.

  9. I love beating the Chiefs and I did predict a Chiefs win, but indicated in other forums we could win if we did certain things, which they did.

It is great, but honestly it tastes like so much ash.

in less than one week we’ve lost two great players for the season. Necessary players, from a mediocre defense that can’t afford it.

How do I know they can’t afford it?  Because for four straight years we’ve suffered catastrophic injuries to our defense by way of multiple All-Pros, Pro Bowlers and core players having their seasons ended that have been at the very root of our playoff futility.

That's the parity of the NFL. NE is playing a 4th place schedule, and their record shows it (not to say that aren't good (they are), but they also benefit from a very, very light schedule).

Johnny, after they beat us I put out there is anybody looking at their schedule?  They may only have a couple of losses for the rest of the entire year.

They are playing well and their schedule is sweet.

...which is what we thought we had.

  11.

If the Bills lose to the Chiefs.

    The Chargers beat the Titans.

    The Jags beat the Raiders.

...the Bills will fall into the 8th spot and out of playoff position due to conference record tie breakers with the Chargers and Jags.

How this differs from Miami in '23 is that we were trailing Miami, but had already beaten phins at home.  New England has already beaten us in our barn before we play them again.

Weird and annoying this NFL world...The Bills are 5-2, but a game and half back in their own division.  Meanwhile the Ravens have won for only the second time all season and are 2 games out of first place in their division.

  12. They come up against a new look Bears team this weekend, and then four out of their last five games are Steelers, Patriots, Packers, Steelers.

Honestly, they could legit be 7-10 or 8-9 when everything is said and done, and that is with getting Lamar back soon.

    EDIT:

At the absolute best they go 9-8.

However, I don't think that gets them in.

No lie... I've told this story before on this board...

So... we all wanted Ngata... I was literally in my office Chanting Ngata! Ngata! Ngata!...

    The pick comes in...

    Whitner...

I'm in shock for a second... Then I'm pissed... So I decide to kick the 25 lb. dumbbell on the floor...

But I forget I'm bare footed...

I split my toe wide open and immediately there's blood everywhere... It looks like an ER scene...lol

So that's my Whitner/Ngata memory for life... B-)

    🤣

KB...real time.  It happened in real time, but in slow motion.

How do we explain to younglings that we are not making this up?  That so many of us had the same experience.

Do you want me to make it worse, in a story I don't believe I have ever shared on the board (at least not in the last 20 years)?

That same buddy's nephew went to Oregon at the time and knew Ngata...AND he talked up how much Buffalo fans were loving him, hoping they'd pick him and was telling him the places to go in Buffalo for wings...AND Ngata was jazzed about the idea of being a Bill.

Anyone flame me all you want that it isn't true or it didn't happen.  Believe me, I get it, and maybe I wouldn't believe me.

...but it did.  it really did.

In my head, to this day, I can still hear, "You can never have enough DBs, you can never have enough DBs, you can never have enough DBs."

It is my "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" pyscho flip switch.

    Go Bills!
