More injured than old. He was producing at a high level not long ago. Von is one of those guys that was so good that even in his late years was going to continue to produce at a competent level. Some players are just that good. It’s a shame the injury took a lot of what was left in his tank.
Your speculation doesn't change the fact Beane owns the risk in that contract.

Bills don't win road playoff games. They can't rest Allen.

The big question is will he give money back to the bills or a non profit for his poor play
He’s old and injured. Beane should make the repayment.- 1

I think he has bigger critics.

The OL playing respectably lightens the burden. OT + C should still be mid-round picks at the very least.
WR, DL, and S are quite a mess.

For some reason, a lot of Bills fans simply can't accept that Josh is a very inconsistent player.
People say things like "Where did Josh go?" when he looks terrible for a couple of games. And then they say "OH, he's back. We found him again!" when he plays lights out.
No, Josh was here the whole time. It's who he is. You never know what you're going to get exactly.
We are going to have trouble winning a Super Bowl with him, b/c without No.1 seeding, we are going to need FOUR GAMES IN A ROW agains the cream of the league...and asking Josh to play with that level of consistency is a tall order.
All true. Injury speculation is part of the excuse shield.
Still have to give Allen credit for his durability either way. Though it's frustrating the Bills are in the fortunate minority of having their starting QB available all year and yet still seem discombobulated this late.

They’re not running on fumes. They’re just not as good as you think they should be.

Dolphins will absolutely play to win the game. No extra or precautionary rest.

I’m thinking. Eye test wise. This has been his WORST season as a pro besides rookie year. He is so jittery , uncomfortable and has been the most inaccurate I can remember. Deep , intermediate and short. All year.
I’m told rushing TDs can bridge that gap to MVP…🤷♂️

So Allen has a shoulder/AC joint issue that doesn’t require surgery. But can’t disclose anything further due to competitive integrity. 🤡

Hard to pass judgment on the OCs when the QB continues to miss throws and reads all over the field.

Bernard has been a revelation. No other way to put it.

Bottom line is this team is sniffing the playoffs because of McDermott and his undermanned defense. And he’s certainly returning as head coach next season.
I do still think he’ll be under less pressure next season missing the playoffs altogether at 10-7 as opposed to getting blown out in a couple weeks.

Edmunds has been solid over the past two months. Coverage, tackling, takeaways. He’s a big part of their turnaround.

What if the focused Dolphins come out?

McDermott started 0-6 vs Belichick (Ironically when Belichick had Brady). Since then McDermott is 7-2 against him and one of those 2 losses was in a tornado
There’s nothing ironic about the fact McDermott started beating Belichick only after Brady departed.- 1

Anyone else catch how long Belichick spoke with McD after the game. It had the feel of I'm going to retire at the end of the season and this is the last time we are going to meet on the field.
Reading too much into it?
That’s a fair assessment. Or perhaps lending personal support for what McDermott dealt with a few weeks ago. Belichick is classy.- 1

Allen is careless and inaccurate and (seemingly) confused and unprepared. His best plays are improvised.
And rushing TDs don’t compensate for reoccurring flaws as a passer.

Allen looked fine to me. His performance wasn’t unexpected.

Another tip of the cap to the head coach and his defense.

Need to keep the ball out of Allen’s hands. RUN!!

Allen is a spinning top right now.

There’s an old saying: Teams with OJ up on their Wall shouldn’t throw stones.
but I agree, it’s a weird move. They should honor Kyle Boller before him. Really don’t get the point of this.
also, don’t forget what a joke Goodell was at handling this. Or the Bengals drafted Mixon in the 2nd round and no one really cares.
Rice’s rightful undoing was the camera footage obviously. Gotta keep your scrums in-house like Dodson.- 1
Why is Diggs coming off the field on Third Downs?

If Diggs were injured and yet still able to contribute, it reasons he would come ON the field on third downs or critical passing situations.
Your first point is worthy. I don't see how he doesn't return to the Bills for one last season.
