  1. If Diggs were injured and yet still able to contribute, it reasons he would come ON the field on third downs or critical passing situations.

    LOL... Diggs isn't leaving.

    • the salary cap implications for another team preclude him from getting traded for the 2024 season
    • Allen, Beane, and McDermott still want him here
    • Diggs likes playing for Buffalo
    • he has NO BEEF with management

Your first point is worthy. I don't see how he doesn't return to the Bills for one last season.

More injured than old.  He was producing at a high level not long ago.  Von is one of those guys that was so good that even in his late years was going to continue to produce at a competent level.  Some players are just that good.  It’s a shame the injury took a lot of what was left in his tank.

Your speculation doesn't change the fact Beane owns the risk in that contract.

For some reason, a lot of Bills fans simply can't accept that Josh is a very inconsistent player.

People say things like "Where did Josh go?" when he looks terrible for a couple of games. And then they say "OH, he's back.  We found him again!" when he plays lights out.

No, Josh was here the whole time.  It's who he is.  You never know what you're going to get exactly.

We are going to have trouble winning a Super Bowl with him, b/c without No.1 seeding, we are going to need FOUR GAMES IN A ROW agains the cream of the league...and asking Josh to play with that level of consistency is a tall order.

All true. Injury speculation is part of the excuse shield.

Still have to give Allen credit for his durability either way. Though it's frustrating the Bills are in the fortunate minority of having their starting QB available all year and yet still seem discombobulated this late.

  4. Bottom line is this team is sniffing the playoffs because of McDermott and his undermanned defense. And he’s certainly returning as head coach next season.

I do still think he’ll be under less pressure next season missing the playoffs altogether at 10-7 as opposed to getting blown out in a couple weeks.

Anyone else catch how long Belichick spoke with McD after the game. It had the feel of I'm going to retire at the end of the season and this is the last time we are going to meet on the field.

    Reading too much into it?

That’s a fair assessment. Or perhaps lending personal support for what McDermott dealt with a few weeks ago. Belichick is classy.

There’s an old saying: Teams with OJ up on their Wall shouldn’t throw stones.

but I agree, it’s a weird move. They should honor Kyle Boller before him. Really don’t get the point of this.

also, don’t forget what a joke Goodell was at handling this. Or the Bengals drafted Mixon in the 2nd round and no one really cares.

Rice’s rightful undoing was the camera footage obviously. Gotta keep your scrums in-house like Dodson.
