  1. NFL Executives probably pushed KC to do this.

Free $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the league with Taylor Swift

I'm glad they did. I bet Beane was already writing a 6-year $120 million check for him for the moment he became a FA.

    would.

Ocho said he thinks Keon can be Top 10 by year 2.

I want to like this pick.  I'm trying real hard to.

I hope Keon looks the part in mini camp

Maybe.  My point is they had 2 holes.  Position priority aside, Poyer and Hyde were the linch pin in of the defense.  Now gone, Mcdermott wanted some of what he lost.  Will he?  Idk. Buffalo sure feels like he is a valuable player for them.  Godd size and speed.  Mcdermott thinks he has the goods for the spot.  Many here flamed Benard in the 3rd and that has turned out great.

Coleman was their top pick and the guy they take at 28.  Figured out the guys moving up wanted a different player.  Still got their guy and added a 3rd.  I dont understand how they undervalue Wr over safety.  You would need to explain that.  I dont see that being the case.

They traded down for WR and said they would have traded up for the S

I have to admit, this video is indeed a bit disappointing.

Especially if you compare it to the same video of Xavier Leggette.

It’s disappointing because Coleman is billed as the “contested catch guy” but if you watch all of Leggette’s targets, he has a higher success rate of coming down with those catches, and seems to be better at just about everything else as well.

For all the buzz about the trade KC, it’s the trade with Carolina that leaves me with more questions.

Do we know for sure that Leggette was not our guy?

For all those that say we wouldn’t have made the trade if Panthers were coming after our guy, ok, then what is the point of trading up one spot for either team in that case? Why would the Panthers make this trade if they weren’t worried about us taking Leggette??? They could have just had him with the next pick after we drafted Coleman if this was true.

Not sure I’m convinced we didn’t get screwed.

I really wanted Legette too.  It was frustrating.  For whatever reason(s)  we must have had a 2nd or 3rd round grade on Legette and Worthy for that matter

So kind of mitigating some of the risk with the Coleman pick by having a backup plan that could hit. It's a fair point and makes sense.

Speculating here, but my guess is that they like the young guys they have at the bottom of the roster more than what was available at that point in the draft. I don't know what Shorter is, but when I look at Baker I see a smaller Shorter. Maybe they feel a KJ Hamler does a lot of the things Franklin does, albeit he is smaller and has a bad injury history. I would have loved Tez Walker somewhere. But if you are going to trade assets to move up for a guy, he better make the roster IMO. But to your point, that should not stop them from adding to the competition.

I'm holding out a small glimmer of hope that Beane knows/sees things regarding Shorter and Hamler.   Hamler apparently has trained his body real hard this off-season and spent time with Josh.  He has 4.3 speed.   It was intriguing that Keon specifically mentioned Hamler.  Maybe he met him while on his visit here. Beane has also mentioned Shavers a few times, who was a fantastic STer in college.  Maybe they see something in him?

Unless something changes, there is a clear top 3 WR.  Then a battle for 4-6  and likely 7 for ST's

    Coleman
    Samuel

    Shakir

    Hollis

    Hamler
    Shorter

    Shavers / Quintez / Isabella / Xavier Johnson / other UDFA's

I will also note....if this staff fails to get Coleman ready and start him, that is unacceptable.

Force feed him the ball and speed up the learning process on the field.

I am seeing this sentiment a lot. I guess my question is why? Like why would trading up in the 4th for a guy like Baker or Walker or Franklin have made that much of a difference in your mind? I think it made sense to stack receivers, but it has no impact on how I feel about Coleman. Not trying to be a jerk, just like genuinely curious.

It would demonstrate to me that Beane is more serious about WR, which has become a premium position.   It would also increase the odds that we get a player at the position who hits

Hi hope people in this board und e stand that year 1 for Cloeman could be underwhelming while ge adjusts to the NFL.

Wr is a position that often takes a year or two to develop at the pro level.

I can already hear the crys of "he is a bust, a wasted draft pick, Beane is an idiot and should be fired".

Give this young man time to adjust to the next level before rushing to judgement.

Coleman and Bishop likely start.  Those where the largest holes on the team in terms of numbers lost and who they lost.  They were diligent looking at each position to find their guy.  Coleman was who they wanted over Worthy, Pearsall, Legette and every wr picked after.  Bishop was who they wanted at safety.  The excitement in the room is evident.  Both plus athletes and 21 years old come September.  Hard to argue with either guy looking at what they were looking for.

Bother Carter and Davis are going to be in the rotation and get meaningful snaps week 1.  Carter could be the future 1tech but will be the immediate back up at 3 tech.  Davis is a short yardage goal line plus back.  He will do that role immediately and probably be the primary back up to Cook week 1 aswell.  That good impact from the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Hard to argue with the draft class as a hole.  Guys clamoring for player x over who was drafted is a product of getting too attached to players you have never met imo.  Needing young depth to push the older depth was accomplished at many levels.  Every player you can see the plan and path to how they make it.  Hard to say for many drafts.

maybe Bishop ends up being a stud....but Beane said he would have been okay with moving up for him?  FOR A SAFETY?  Why is that position getting premium value over WR?   We could have easily gotten the same level of prospect in Round 4

I wonder if any receiver would be good enough for the majority of you here... it seems like we have a good story with him popping up everywhere and already he's not nearly good enough and he hasn't even played a single down yet.

I would have been much more OK with Coleman if we had drafted another WR even in Round 4

We went into this draft with WR being our biggest need. We left this draft with WR being our biggest need. That's unacceptable imo

Why this franchise isn't hellbent on loading up around Josh Allen as much as possible is absolutely mind-blowing to me.

Beane & Sean value  DL, DB, LB above WR

    it's frustrating

Samuel is a pretty good addition.  Coleman is a very risky pick IMO.  Boom or bust.

  11. It’s a huge maybe…

but maybe Beane knows / sees things

about Shorter & Hamler that we don’t?

if Shorter suddenly was a boundary WR opposite Keon, that would be a nice development

Hamler has 4.3 speed.  He’s been training his body real hard. Looks like he worked out with TO / WR camp.  Also with Josh Allen

    being overly optimistic

    Coleman

    Shorter

    Samuel (line up anywhere)

    Shakir (slot)

    Hamler

    Hollis

    Shavers / Xavier Johnson (KR/PR)

I’d be surprised if Quintez makes the 53

Josh has been able to get the best out of every receiver he's had.  Coleman is a body/ability type Josh has never had and I expect him to thrive and be at worst a more consistent version of Gabe Davis.  Best case he becomes a WR 1 and we quit doubting Beane on every pick .  There are a lot of positives to Coleman's game  Go watch his basketball highlights  Kid has really good hand/eye coordination, good feet and agility for a 6'4" 220lber, and explosive hops.   Think lot of people are pissed they didnt take Adonai Mitchell

people are more pissed we aided KC’s speed arms race.  But, yes. I would have traded up for AD or Franklin once they were falling so much.  Would have been a much more positive outlook at the position

  13. I would have taken Worthy or Legette at 28/32

However, I’m fine with Keon.  Ocho Cinco believes he can be a Top 10 WR by year 2.

That kind of endorsement outweighs my opinions / ignorance

That said,  still not really okay with taking a Safety in Round 2 when it seems we could have gotten a similar player in Round 4

I like Carter, but again thought it was a round early

my favorite pick of the draft is Van Pran from Georgia.  Day 1 starter at Center IMO.  A powerful and mean player which was needed
