I mean sure, adding Metcalf to this group would completely change the outlook.

I love the talented underdog approach. It’s not like we’re throwing David Nelson and Donald Jones out there. I know we all remember those days.

Yea. I'd rather take a chance on Claypool than bring Zay Jones back in.    I'm stunned Claypool is only 25 would have guessed much older

For all we know, Chase Claypool could legit be a Born Again Christian now and be motivated to play football

If he causes trouble or is a bum, he can be cut in camp

On the 7% chance it works out......imagine we get some version of what he was his rookie season.

Hmm this is something at least. My worry is that it means the Bills are done with the WR room though. They are seemingly betting on one of Hamler or Claypool to restore their careers here with no backup plan in place.

At the very least we've added guys to battle in camp.  Claypool and Hamler both have skills

There is also a MASSIVE trend suddenly with adding lots of size at WR

Maybe when Beane and Sean spoke of Explosiveness, they were thinking of physical size ?

This trend also slightly increases my hope we target DK Metcalf in a month

I don't think you bring in Hamler and Claypool if the plan is to say trade for DK Metcalf after June 1. Those aren't just camp bodies IMO, they're bets on upside. Not that I agree with the strategy but that's my guess.

Or bring in as much as you can with players who have shown talent and let the cream rise to the top?

People on this website are not grasping how significant the new kick off rule is going to change the game. They will when the games start. Hence the Bills signing and prioritizing Linebackers this off season.

Good point....it could be chaos.  I'm not too thrilled with the change.  I'd have just moved the kicker back 10 yards personally and take away the fair catch

  5. The edge rusher is quick off the line of scrimmage and has huge hands, measuring at 10-and-three-quarter inches, and a long wingspan of over 80 inches compared to his 6-foot frame.

Solomon finished with two sacks and two forced fumbles in Troy's 2023 conference title win.

Brugler noted that, despite being smaller than many edge rushers in the NFL, Solomon's blend of traits in the pass rush could make him a valuable addition to a defensive line.

"Solomon has a unique collection of traits in a smaller-framed body, but he is disproportionally long with the bend, burst and motor that make him a pass-rushing pest," Brugler wrote. "Solomon's play style is built on spurts of speed, power and having a nose for the football."

  6. For his size, he has huge arms.  16 sacks is a lot for 1 college season.

We possibly get a steal?   Situational pass rusher, maybe try him at "OLB" on some looks.

He said Von is his idol basically so that could work out really well

Interesting highlights.  I think his college tape is more impressive than Groot's.

However, when you look at the size differential (Solomon vs. OT), he kind of looks like a blitzing CB up against an offensive lineman.  Yet he gets by those guys with a variety of moves.  I wonder how well his skills will translate to the NFL at his size.

(Yeah, I know he's only a few pounds lighter than Von.  But, to me, he looks small for an edge.  Maybe I'm wrong?)

Look at his muscle development......he's like Thor out there

Javon Kearse  + King Solomon  =   DPOY   😂

  7. It appears that a post June 1 DK Metcalf trade would be a 13 million cap charge to acquiring team… (someone correct me if wrong)

which means this is a real possibility IF Seattle decides to move him / we make a quality offer

with Tre White’s 10 million and possibly restructuring Oliver, we can make it happen

some may disagree, but I’d be willing to offer our 1st & 4th for Metcalf

we’d still have 2 Seconds, 3rd, 4th (CHI) including the Vikings pick likely Top 35-40.

a DK & Keon combo on the outside could put us over the top in the playoffs where defensive holding/PI is not called.  Both players are capable of physically overcoming most DB’s 1 on 1

Metcalf of course also fills the NEED FOR SPEED baby.

Beane added a 2nd & 4th to our 2025 Draft. It would seem logical he did so to use as capital for a potential trade

Also note, unlike every other receiver rumored or known to be potentially available….

Metcalf has not been speculated to Buffalo. Stealth move by Beane incoming in 4 weeks. Please?

I’d say DK & Keon is a likely upgrade from last year’s version of Diggs & Gabe. Especially….in the playoffs

I wonder about Slayton.  Will he really play hard ball with the Giants and not report?  He would fit in nicely here.

No. If we add anyone else, it should be at the very least a Courtland Sutton. Someone who is much more impactful than Slayton IMO…or a surprise veteran who is cut around the league

DK Metcalf is who Beane needs to get.

He would be AWESOME with Josh Allen.

    He’s 26, we could extend him until he’s 31

DK & Keon on the outside with Samuel and Shakir inside and Kincaid as well

    that really elevates the group

that is fantastic.  I think he really loves football and will learn very fast.  He was successful at Michigan St & FSU…still only 20

there are some annoying cons about the draft selection…but there are a lot of positives and his ceiling is quite high.

here’s to hoping he’s the 2020 version of Josh Allen as a rookie WR haha!

    Keon’s Gaunlet drill looked elite.
Hitting over 20mph while catching passes with a smooth powerful stride.

    P.Nacua ran a very similar 40 at 4.57

but like Keon was high end in the gaunlet hitting 20mph

  10. It’s really easy to like him

he may have a perfect balance of playfulness and serious football mindset

Revisiting this issue a few days later, it still comes down to this for me:

Being one injury away from Mack Hollins or Justin Shorter playing significant starting snaps on offense is just not ideal in any way, shape, or form. Depending on a 20 year old rookie to be productive out of the gate and to be one of your starting three WRs when you play as much 11 personnel as the Bills do is not ideal in any way, shape, or form.

They HAVE to get one more legit guy for this WR room. Have to. It's impossible for me to believe that Brandon Beane really thinks a Shaver/Shorter/Hamler/Isabella/Cephus is the answer to this problem.

If so, it's hard for me to conclude anything other than that this WR corps has the potential to be the worst since 2019.

I have my fingers tightly crossed that there will be a post June 1st move of some kind.

I’m holding out hope it’s DK Metcalf with today’s news he could possibly be traded post June 1 according to Ben Allbright

The betting man in me still doesn’t believe they’re going to rely on a rookie WR that they traded back for playing the X role immediately.

I want Keon to play a lot, but IMO if we want to contend…we need a top tier type player on the other side of him

    23 minutes ago, Buffalo_Stampede said:

Getting over the top will require the Bills defense to stop Mahomes at some point.

This really is a completely different topic though. Many believe WRs is how you beat Mahomes. I still believe it’s front 4 pressure making at least a couple plays late in games to stop Mahomes. The Bengals beat Mahomes because of the defense. The Bucs beat Mahomes because of the defense.

the problem is, our good to very good defense completely forgets how to play against KC. The DL is taken out of the game
