Him and Brady are a perfect match.  Two over the hill, self centered big mouths.

Well if this is his last season he has the potential to finish as high as 298-85 (77.8) of course that won't happen but he will likely finish with over 290 wins and less than 100 loses in games he played. So he can do and say as he wished. Best ever , not debatable

I'll just be a little more clear on what I agree with from the article.  I think that Belichick is a good coach.  In fact, I think he is a great coach.  I just dont think he is necessarily the goat.  There is more to his coaching career than just Brady being good. Cheating is always going to hang on him because I dont care what people think, spygate was real.  I dont really care about the deflate gate stuff though.  The guy is always trying to look for loopholes in the rules to exploit.  He keeps books on referrees and teaches his guys what penalties they can get away with and can't.  Some might say that one is just good coaching but I think its skirting the cheating line.  I wont argue that, just my opinion.  Other things helped propell those superbowl wins such as having great offensive coaching and being able to get star players on low level contracts wanting to get rings.  As well as Brady always playing under market value so he can spend cap elsewhere.

In any case what I agree with is that his time is done. Mac Jones is not a good QB.  The team around him is not good either. I can't see that team regardless of coaching do what they did last season.  One because the book is out on Jones.  Two because the stars likely wont align this season and have all the tough teams play with their stars on the sidelines. Three because I think his coaching staff is a clown show and arent good enough to run an offense like McDaniels was.  Four because the team over all is aged or just not good.  Sure, they probably win some games but not close to last season. Also, I think we are getting to "the game has passed him by" territory.  Maybe not necessarily but his best bet on the team is run and stop the run.  He dont have the team to do that either.  Lastly, because I don't think Kraft is going to put up with losing like that.  Its obvious Belichick is a terrible GM.  Before the season started I put in the hot takes thread... The Pats are last in the division and Belichick is "fired."  It'll probably look more like retirement out of respect.

Unless Kraft is going to let him go another year assuming Belichick is going to draft the top QB prospect next draft and build around it, I just don't see Belichick staying on in a losing situation.  That team is a mess.  You can only coach your way around scrubs and aging vets so much.  Even if he is the best of all time.

    Lol

If Brady never takes over the Patriots never have a dynasty. That much is unquestionably true. But Belichick's record without Brady proves he can coach, rather than proving the opposite.

No he wasn't lol, he took over a patriots team 15+ million over the cap with only 35 guys signed to the active roster.  And the early years i.e the first 3 super bowls where because the Patriots had some of the best defensive units the league has seen.

He can't stay healthy. One season over 800 yards in has career. They already have one of the best wr duos in the league without him.

Dolphins are loaded with draft picks the next two years and outside of QB have a nice roster. Good thing they have Tua.

    Bingo, can't stay healthy. That's a fact

I mean could the Chiefs honestly get bumped from the playoffs?

The Broncos I still think will miss but have the other 3 teams done enough to unseat the Chiefs. Outside of cannibalizing  each other the AFC West matches up with the NFC West so the Chiefs have to play

    Arizona

    LA Rams

    San Fran

    Buffalo

    Cincinnati

    Tennessee

    Houston

    Indy

    Jacksonville

    Tampa Bay

    LV x2

    LA Chargers x 2

    Denver x 2

That is an absolute gauntlet for the Chiefs and honestly they have done nothing this off-season.

Always looks better on paper, KC will be fine and win that division again

Brady had 3 SB wins at age 37. That's what blows my mind.

MOST of his SB wins came after age 37, which is why his SB rings probably will never be surpassed. As great as KC has been, for example, they have 1 ring to show for it. That's normal. What NE did was insane!

As amazing as NE was in their prime, as seemingly unbeatable, they only netted 3 SB rings by the time Brady was 37. If he had a typical QB career he would play at 38 and 39, maybe 40, have a few moments but noticeably decline and retire at age 40 or 41 with 3 SB titles and nowhere near any of the all time passing records. Totally different career, although still all-time great with 3 rings.

It took the tuck rule, Lee Evans dropping an easy TD pass, Marshawn Lynch not getting a goal line handoff, Atlanta blowing a 25 point lead, a kicker nailing 3 last minute FGs, and so much more that had to go right.

Brady was great, had an all-time great HC, some HOF level teammates, AND some amazing luck as well. You need all that.

You have to get to a ton of Super Bowls to win them. Anything can happen in a single game. Just get to the big show.

If Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes played in 10 super Bowls I'll bet they win 5 for sure.

But you need to get there first.

Lee Evan didn't drop it, he got it knocked out by a scrub that wouldnt start on any teams roster
