Great news, that means we have a better path to a championship. I’ll worry about the quality of the league after we get a ring.

Be more than happy for the league to be the Bills doormats for a extended period if time say the rest of Josh's career.  He's more fun to watch than Brady ever was so other fans will enjoy the Allen years even if they aren't Bills fans.

Alwa,Always, good to be versatile with talented defenders.  Harder to tee off to stop a guy that you can't pigeonhole to one type of move.  I'd like him to bat more balls in air then snagging the int before any other player nearby is tall enough to win a jump ball vs Groot.  Good luck with that lol.

It was sometime in the late third quarter when I finally noticed #20 out there and had to remind myself who that was and why they were in the game.

I really don’t recall hearing his name called all day. Since the entire Bills D seemed to have a really good D I have to imagine Rapp played well too. Stat sheet shows 6 tackles (second on the  team) 5 solo.

He’s a UFA after this year. I wouldn’t mind at all another look at Rapp next week and letting Poyer fully heal up.

That's the nice thing about being a legit contender with a qb like Allen.  Guys will be happy I y to audition for a longer contract on a good team.  And if he clicks in McDs scheme then we can use the draft to grab high ceiling rookies for the trenches preferably mainly on oline until we have a top oline that is young and has many future years together and becomes  the foundation that gets us to several Super Bowls with Allen and company winning the big ģames and removing that stigma from Bills history.

Particularly defense. How much of the 'soft' attitude of the past stemmed from the leadership of Frazier and the example of Edmunds? They both were the sort to just hang on and hope the other guy makes enough mistakes. With them out of the way, the beating heart of the defense is now 58 and 43: fast, smart, agressive, looking to impose their will on the offense instead of the eternal bend-and-don't-break-till-the-playoffs. I'd add Oliver in there too. If anything he's been even more ornery and arriving at ball-carriers in a truculent mood since scoring his contract, which is absolutely an anomaly in the league.

Indeed ss the first impression he made after getting drafted.  Was rubbing his hands tigergerclujevhe knew he was gettingbpaid. And just after the college coat on sidelines fiasco just gave off the entitled athlete vibe.  Glad to see he's out earning his contract after signing that's nice change to see a player elevate his  plaý to match contract he got.

This would be a great play for Miami

Just push Tua head first into the defense

Nah I don't even like them doing it with Josh.  A defender running to the line could go helmet c to helmet with Josh inadvertently causing one or both of them to be injured  maybe suffer a bad concussion.  I don't want to risk Josh's thinking process now he seems to look for the smart plays.

Jets D is tough at home in prime time.

They certainly playing KC tough, only downside I see is now more media will reverse how they viewed Allen week 1 as maybe it was the defense of NY more than was credited after Allen threw the ints and looked like he couldn't take the èasy throws.

And he still got to add a rushing td do teams can't ignore Josh is a handful by himself.  Not many defenders wanna try tackling Big Bàd Josh when he's got a full head of steam going.

    Tie Game!!!!

Glad I played the up by 10 win  on the kc game.  Wanted to bet Jets just didn't think they had a chance with Wilson.  Now I won the bet  with the early lead kc had so I can root for Jets to pull the upset and I already won the bet I put on kc.

He's proven me wrong so far. I was banging the table for a change.

He has this defense playing at another speed, gear, and level. They are dominating the line of scrimmage. When is the last time we've seen that? The front four is getting consistent pressure. When have we seen that? He is masterfully throwing in timely blitzes. When have we seen that? He is disguising defenses. When have we seen that?

Just really fun to watch thus far. Exciting to see and add in Miller. OMG...

And Allen is letting the defense rest as well as maybe discuss some of what they see Miami doing and gives d a chance to come up with what will work best against what Miami is doing.

Next week will be payback for that 9-6 debacle two years ago.

I'm thinking the Mafia takes over in London.   Not sure how big jaguars are in London for all the games they have played there.

Awesome.  I know this little tidbit you mention might seem obvious to folks who bet regularly, but for me this clarified a lot.  I instinctively knew the purpose of oddsmakers was to craft the odds so that the house always wins regardless of the outcome, but the overall principle that guides the oddsmakers in this process was eluding me.

    Thanks a bunch!

I'm not really an expert just how I've always figured it works.  So if lot of money comes in on one side  the numbers change to encourage money to be placed to countervit.  So that's where a injury  could cause line to change say if Aaron got hurt before game and Jets fans knew they'd have to win with Zach Wilson doubt the lines would have stayed at the odds when they figured rogers would be qb.  Course once he got hurt bets were already made so  no change before game started.

    Thanks!

Do you know how the "+150" and "-180" numbers in your example would be determined?

Additionally, from the thread title's use of the word "early", I assume these numbers change over time.  How and why do they change leading up to the game?

Think the numbers are some formula of money bet on each team. The casino has to get their cut as middle man  so the numbers distribute the remaining funds from all bets  if even bets on both sides you'd get closer to a 1 to 1 payout.  If 4 Dolphins fans bet 10 each to 1 Bills fan u can't pay off 4 winning  bets from the 1 so they divide the 10 into to 4  parts to cover each of the Miami bets with a 2.50 win on their 10 bet.   At least it works something like that cause the casino doesn't want to give away money they take their cut rest is in pool for winning g bets  divided by the # of winners.

Basically the numbers change to try get both sides equal in bets made.

Let Daquan play it out. Everyone needs to chill. He is playing great but at his age he isn't going to have an amazing market in any event. No rush. Let's see how he lasts the season at his age. If we want him back that is a contract that will be doable in Feb or March.

Miami. With an owner willing to pay money he could get yearly extensions to put earned raises rather than be looking for a long term deal.  He's getting up in age he may not  be looking for years of playing.  He may just want a ring a little cash in bank to sail off to retirement hapoy.

I’m saddened knowing I will never feel this level of optimism towards the Bills.

I’m honestly jealous of your outlook.

We could be up 11 with a minute left and the ball and I’m doing the math on the other team’s timeouts and assume they get the ball back, TD and 2pt, successful onside for last second FG to send us to another heartbreaking OT loss.

And you have faith we’ll shutout a team that just put up 70. I need to be more like you; would probably make this hobby more enjoyable.

Well I had hoped the defense was gonna pitch their first shutout but considering they shutdown the greatest  offense known to mankind the way some were on awe of Tua and the miami waddlers, I'm OK about being overly optimistic.  They did warrant my belief in them to stop miami.

He’s our head chef at the venue I’m at. Hell figure it out (I hope).

Ah OK least he won't be so inept that you be eating something potentially dangerous.   My grandmother used to make cheese on their farm.  Ì didn't care much for cheese as a child I actually acquired the taste for some cheese after I was 21.   And I only like a few varieties not the wide spectrum out there.

    What’s the story on Benford?

Yea I guess he only had a stinger or if hurt  couldn't do more damage by playing on it.

Got my coworker (Miami fan) wearing zubaz, and cooking me buffalo wings tomorrow. Best thing is I’m demanding home made blue cheese. 👍

Uh. Unless your coworker knows how to make good homemade cheese that may not be a great idea.  I am assuming you plan on eating the meal and if they are not versed in making cheese properly you gonna risk eating their attempt?

Boy, the narrative is already changed...so fast.

Well all the experts were just off of Josh until he proved he can let his teammates shine and be the playmakers and not feel he is the only one that can carry the team.  Now that he's showing the patience and trusting his oline  he's hard to beat.

And now that the defense is doing its part the offense and defense combined make a lethal vombo.
