That's an interesting take.  Makes some sense.   The stars get the calls.

As added incentive the Bills beating the Chiefs to face Philly in a rematch in Super Bowl might be tempting to the decision makers.

    Come one man.

1st downs, you're using percentage to make it look like its great production.  He has 29 first downs this year, 46th in the league and behind Justin Jefferson who has missed about 5 games this year.  You see how certain stats will slant a view.  So yes, this is cherry picking.  Yes it includes your data but there is other data that slants it differently.

Dawson Stone Hands Knox has catch % is 10 points higher than Davis.

Why are you asking me?  I'm not Allen or Brady.  Why do you think they have taken Davis pretty much out of the game plan?  Is there a reason?  Are they not seeing something that you are?

Yeah, you're right.  Since we have taken Davis out of the game plan, we aren't scoring?  Is it not working or something?

Most people have agreed with your opinion in this thread.

First I don't care what his standings sre in 1st downs in the league.  How many 1st downs does he account for for the team. Is his 29 amongst team leaders or lagging in the low end?  What he does for the team is more important to me than fantasy stats.

In this case, the NFL will be fine with it.

I don't think they could withstand the public seeing them let Mahomes and Reid slide.  And I'm sure they already have discussed the image issue with them so they will be fined and somewhere a gofund me gets setup that raises the fine amounts and I wouldn't be surprised if the team and maybe nfl itself has funds sent to it as anonymous donations.  Or if Mshomes has some foundation setup then he pays his fine and over course of year his foundation gets donations equal to his fine

.  With Reid likely something similar or the Cheifs can just say he earned some bonus in his contract.  Heck he could win a poker game at a private game with the owners.

Yeah, the whole thing was a riddle wrapped in a secret.

Injury made the most sense and they hinted at it, but pretty late in the game, and confirmed it very late in the game.

I wonder if they were being coy with the injury reports early in the season and then decided it was best for everybody to just keep quiet and not draw attention.

I don't know enough about injury reports to know if they had something to worry about.

Did anybody say it's healed? I don't have the BN.

Well he's been cleared to practice so I'd I'm a give it is in the latter stages of bring healed likely plenty if strength exercises to help as he works his ankle back to pre injury strength and flexibility.  Hopefully he was busy creating a new notebook on what he picked up watching tape with db coaches while he was rehabbing.

This still doesn’t make sense. If he has an injury that is severely limiting his ability to effective play or play at the level he is expected to, then you declare the injury and place him on IR. He comes back when he’s medically cleared and able to play. None of this double-speak by McD about playing the players who give them the best chance to win. None of the constant questions by reporters. What did they expect? We have a 1st rounder who showed much promise last year to then fall off a cliff his 2nd year and were only hearing about this now??

Maybe it is possible he didn't let the trainers know he had an injury initially and he maybe did further damage to his ligament that now will need a longer rehab and we don't know when the zone he's learning makes it into his skillset as needed fir the defense we are running.

Initially got in mcds doghouse for not playing as well as they knew he could, then once the injury was identified they started proper treatment.  Did he require surgery?  We don't know unless and until Elam himself decides to share such medical info.

Only two people thought this was funny?

    Damn, I must be slippin'.

It was funny but it was just copycat of Whoopi Goldberg's response to the media that suggested Dolly should act her age after appearing in cowboy cheerleader outfit and the little picture I saw she doesn't look her age.   So I guess Poyer is your football Dolly Parton?   Rest of your post I agree he is playing smarter.

Actually it did.  You could never watch a local/blackout game on Directv ST either.

Only exception was the gamemix channel.

CBS botched this, plain and simple.  It's easy to put a multiview or split screen feed.

Or CBS gives yttv both games that ST customers csn choose whichever game.  Actually they probably are doing 6 or 7 games on any Sunday  so all should be available with no restrictions to ST  customers.  Otherwise I hope yttv isn't sending alot of money on rheir nfl deal.

I think it’s just getting him going in case they need him on ST.

Most likely yes, but then again thinking outside the box....  Does Shorter have any time playing db like in HS if he played both wr and db? Might be he can help if our dbs are getting banged up.  He plays some ST role while being an emergency in game body at wr or db.

Exactly....they could just be giving him three weeks of practice time with the team to give him a leg up for next years training camp. I’m sure the Bills envision a ST ace/ WR4 role for Shorter next season.

Might even use his practice time to see what he can do in a ST role.  Could be up for it.  Doesn't even have to go full kamikaze either but even if he's only doing a st role in a real game that helps his conditioning in event we need him at wr due to injury. Seems Bills wrs get beat up somewhat and always good to have known replacements now that the Bills are basically in win or go home mode now.  And with no game film on him they could design up a few set plays where he is the decoy or the beneficiary with Diggs and Davis being the coverage magnets.

I've pondered this Mahomes situation for a while now and quite frankly it reads as pure entitlement and almost adds fuel to the conspiracy theories in that his very public outburst was like 'That wasn't the script and we were supposed to win' type of deal towards the NFL and referees.

Either way this team better hope they don't see the Chiefs again in the playoffs if they get there or I fear it will be a repeat of 2020/2021.

I disagree I hope we knock out KC in the AFCCG to face the Eagles in the Super Bowl where they humiliate the eagles in a big blowout win.

I think he was playing great last season but got hurt down the stretch — arm injury — and it really affected his play. But the Bills knew how good he was when healthy. This isn’t directed at you at all, but I think a lot of fans see unevenness over the course of a season and chalk it up to inconsistency when it’s really injury. I’ll never forget Bills fans being down on Robert Woods and Chris Hogan in their last seasons here for—respectively—a decline in explosiveness and drops, but then it turned out that Woods was playing with a torn groin for half a season and Hogan with torn wrist ligaments for more than half the season. The Bills never reported the extent of injuries once all season, and only at the end of the season would they list Woods as “probable (leg).”

That was back in the Wilson era no?

He will be the OC going forward next year. Bank it.

Well it would be stupid to replace him when this team runs the gamet and wins their first Lombardi.  And any Bills fan will know it is because we have Josh Allen, but you get a guy that gets Josh and Co to string together a win streak that gets the trophy you don't make a change.  You give him a new contract and pay as a top OC deserves.

Why isn't Shakir lined out in Davis' position? Guy has caught 26 of 31 targets for an average yards / reception of 16+ and first downs on 17 of his receptions.

Davis' reception rate is 56% of targets with 69 (nice) targets. Move his bigger body into the slot, where he can block and let Shakir do his thing on the outside.

Probably could set up a nice bit of musical wrs once we get a few more young guys preferably with speed.

But that’s been the problem with him and the whole team. It’s completely inconsistent every game this year.

this team can beat any team in the nfl. We also can lose to any team as well. It’s so frustrating.

Well the way I see it is its a long season and these guys get best up weekly. I'd find it unrealistic to have any team have all players playing at their 100% best for every game.   So I rather be the team that gels and is peaking heading into the post season.  If we take the division and Miami gets a wild card I don't think they will advance. Miami that is.  I think this current Bills team is gelling and is focused.  They maybe learning to get it done and  when both our offense and defense are working as a team then don't see them getting beat.

    - Von Miller was playing without his brace this game and even though he started off the game vs the Chiefs ineffective, he was a difference maker in the latter parts of the game.  He had a key pressure which should have been an in the grasp sack against Mahomes, he also an extremely important pressure on a 3rd and 7 near the goal line where he almost caused a fumble, which ended up leading to a FG.   I would argue the Von Miller that we saw in the 4th quarter was the Von Miller that we brought in to close out games.

    - Even though the Offensive line was gashed by pressures by the Chiefs, they were still effective in run blocking and this is the best offensive line we have had in well over a decade.  I like this O-line and I don't believe we need to look to actively upgrade it next year.

    - James Cook is becoming the real deal, it is a bit of a mystery that we stopped using him midway through the 3rd quarter, but Brady has brought out the reason why he was seen as a potential blue chip NFL prospect.  His elusiveness, speed, vision, route running and his ability to break tackles tells me that he can get 15-20 touches a game and the Bills should look to take advantage of that.

    - Something seems off with Diggs.  I have never seen him ask to be taken out for breathers/or what have you as much as I have seen over the past month.  His productivity has dropped and he was not able to get himself open against Sneed.  Maybe he has an undisclosed injury but he's not been the same Diggs we have seen over the past year.

    - Gabe is way too inconsistent, even though Josh totally missed him on a play that was setup with those WR bubble screens and he had an easy TD.  Aside from that, when he plays against top end DB's, he is a non factor.  I think part of it is on Josh where he just doesn't even look his way because I believe he's lost confidence in him.

    - The Bills need to draft a WR with their top pick, lots of really good WR's are available to be had and we not only need a #2 but an eventual replacement to Diggs and now is the time.

    - McDermott actually changed up the aggressiveness of the D late in the game and it paid off, so kudos for him for that. However, the clock management was terrible.  With that said, a big reason for that debacle near the 2 minute warning was Diggs fault. That bubble screen was viewed like a handoff and if he catches that he probably gets a few yards and it goes to the two minute warning.  It probably impacted the next call as well.  Brady had to make the decision after the drop, they are facing a 2nd and 10, he's probably thinking if we can get the 1st down we win, Chiefs won't get the ball back.  With that 2nd and 10 he calculated the best way to close out the game was to get that 1st down and passing was the best option and it didn't work out.

    - The Bills could easily be a 10-3 team right now, but we've allowed games to slip through our fingers too much.  With that said, if we can beat the Cowboys, there is a good chance that the Bills could actually win the division and be one of the AFC favorites to reach the Super Bowl.  None of the AFC teams scare me, the Ravens I think are probably the best of the bunch but they are beatable.

Don't know where I got the impression that Diggs hurt his back a bit recently and that could be why he is off.

Could be I get that impression after seeing him get rough housed a few times past few games.

I don't blame Gabe's mother one bit. On pace for the lowest tgt/game since 2021 and YPC of his career in a contract year.

Could be the difference between another $10- $15M. I'd be screaming for them to forcefeed my son too.

It's the players responsibility to earn any new contract and the dollar amount will be set by their play.  If Gabe was catching everything he'd be getting a ton of targets.
