NE and NYJ both have bottom 3 offenses in the entire league. Denver is middle of the pack/bottom 3rd, and the Chargers with Easton Stick are also bottom 3rd. So I’m not really impressed with the defense’s performances in those games. They either had average performances, or bad performances (NE game especially).

Hill and CMC are having similar seasons to other skill players that didn’t win MVP. Like Kupp for a recent example. Neither is close to an AP or Tomlinson type season. Lamar Jackson has 16 less TDs than Allen and a worse TD/turnover ratio. His counting stats are middle of the road. I’m having a hard time remembering a weaker MVP if he wins. The fact that he has the best odds just shows how much this is a QB award now. If Allen finishes 2-0 with good games (maybe just one more turnover and 6-8 TDs), and the Bills win the division and #2 seed he will win it. In my opinion even if the Bills win out and get the wild card he should still get it, but that isn’t how it works I guess.

Either you believe it should go to the player with the best stats, or the player that is “most valuable” to their team’s performance (vs a league average player in their position). Jackson satisfies neither of those, so the only reason he would win is he’s the QB on the #1 seed team. It would be the weakest MVP in a very long time.

He had his helmet on and was ready to go back in. They zoomed in on the coach hiding his mouth and breaking the news to him and he seemed bummed. Maybe the coach was protecting him from further injury in a blow out, but Purdy was shook at that point and Darnold gave them the best chance to win.

With the ball, driving and all 3 timeouts? Would Allen be benched in that situation?
-
Purdy actually got benched at the end of that game. When has an MVP candidate been benched when they could have played?
-
2 minute warning doesn’t really matter. Either way the 49ers need to recover the onside kick or prevent the Ravens from getting a first down. Would have allowed them to have a timeout left on their hypothetical final drive if they punched it in before.
-
Deebo fighting off 5 Ravens for the first down. Pretty incredible.
-
Purdy being told his butt is benched

Usually NFL QBs throw with anticipation. They don’t actually have to see the receiver be open to throw it. Works for Jackson, but can be exploited.
-
I think part of the reason Jackson has so few picks is that he only throws to receivers when they are open.

Why do DBs never wrap up?
-
Allen is going to finish the season with 15+ more TDs and possibly the #2 seed. Would be pretty sad if that is the way the vote went, and would prove team record is the most important thing.
-
Allen has at least 30 pounds on Jackson, so you’re probably right.
-
No way is Lamar more overrated than Purdy. At least he makes plays that change the game. Even if he is inconsistent as a passer. Purdy just follows the script.
-
Is it because they’ve had like 1 drive all game longer than 30 yards that wasn’t like 80% penalty yards?
-
He also only had 6 yards rushing before that big run. We’ll see what is totals are at the end of the game. He’s been pretty bad so far.
-
They never seem to keep the clock running when they go out of bounds backwards
-
What exactly has Lamar done to deserve it this year? Just goes to show that team record is the most important thing. Bills finishing #2 seed would help Allen a lot.

McCaffery MVP

Probably should have been 4 too. I was really surprised they overturned Shakir’s TD (although it was better for us it was overturned).
