Mahomes was not flawless. And he was not flawless up against a battered defense.

I’ve already criticised Josh for the final drive on what was otherwise a good evening for him. But any criticism for Dawkins for allowing Jones to have his way with him? If he’d held his ground, just for one more second, it could have been a TD.

The mistake wasn’t firing Schottenheimer, though. At some point Pegula will understand the purpose of the season is not to bow out with the defense waving the white flag in the divisional round. The only plus is at least Josh was on form for most of the game so it wasn’t an embarrassment like the Bengals last year.

It does sum up the Bills luck though - two big trades, for Josh and Diggs. What do the other teams get in return? Mahomes and Jefferson. I mean… seriously?!

McDermott only goes if Josh requests an audience with Pegula and says he wants a trade if it doesn’t happen. Otherwise he’s safe.

Josh choked when it mattered most. Did well up to then. Nowhere near 13 seconds where he played a practically perfect game. If he was up to that standard the Bills would have won tonight.

I’d say so, yes. I imagine they’ll be telling the Josh what the objective is - whether to score quick or try and wind down the clock.

This is the worst thing. The Chiefs are not a great team. They’re little more than mediocre. In truth, all four Championship teams have issues and yet the Bills still couldn’t take advantage of the hand luck dealt them.

Josh carried the Bills tonight. But the difference in the end? Mahomes came up clutch when he needed to. Josh didn’t. It’s unusual for him, but it came at the most ill opportune time. Goodness knows what they do now - if we were lost at QB this would be the perfect time to rip it up and start again, but you cannot waste a year of his career like that. Feels lost at the moment and I’d be perfectly happy if McDermott is fired, Brady axed and Bass let go tomorrow.

Credit to Mayfield for fronting it out and staying on the field, rather than running to the locker room.

Think he probably needed the shock of the trade to Carolina, being under McVay from a spell and then at risk of being a back up at best until the Bucs stepped in. Grounded him somewhat.

If the 49ers offense clicks, nothing is stopping them. Then the question is which offense could potentially keep up. Out of those left, at their best, I'd say it's the Bills.

That half flew by. The next game will go at the pace of a snail in comparison.

I do not need to see a repeat of that injury. Hope the guy is OK.
