  1. I think he is. The trouble is he can’t get out of his own way either - he keeps doing it. I said last night, I believe the best thing we can hope for for the post season is second half Josh to turn up more often than not, which will increase the likelihood of a ring. Then, over the summer, he goes back to Palmer and works on some fundamentals. I can understand why he wanted a break from football after last year’s emotional wrecking ball, but this time he needs to be really focused on improving his weaknesses. I say this because he is the best football player in the NFL right now, yet sometimes looks one of the worst.
  2. The first interception resulted in the ball ending up at something like the Miami 8. The second resulted in a touchback. The fumble - which was more down to Torrence/lack of support from Morse - saw the ball recovered at the Fins 27. As infuriating as they were, none of the turnovers left the defense in a near impossible situation to recover. Indeed, the worst position was the turnover on downs in the fourth (Miami 37).
  3. That was his destiny before it as well. He’s never a starter.
  4. It’s why the Pro Bowl vote is so utterly stupid, and even Fins fans are seeing it now. Take Davis (which he was for some of the game) and Cook out of the Bills offense - does Josh struggle to the same extent as Tua did last night? No. Nine times out of 10 he finds a way to at least put the Bills in a winning position late on.
  5. I was watching the 49ers rolling at the end of their game against the Rams. Any points for San Francisco would mean the Rams would go to Dallas and the Packers to Detroit. I thought to myself “The league would prefer the 49ers to lose this one…”, and Darnold then made an inexplicable fumble on 2nd and 10, when he could and should have protected the ball. I don’t think the league is rigged. But it is fortunate for them that such a bizarre play was made at an important time.
  6. I think I’d be more confident playing the Fins again (even that’d mean yesterday was a loss) in Miami than Pittsburgh at home for this reason. The wind game of 2021 looms large and Pittsburgh have both a better run game and defense, even without Watt, than the Pats did. Admittedly, the Bills run game has been better, particularly since Brady took over, but it struggled yesterday. If the Bills lose the turnover the battle, they lose the game.
  7. On the third quote, my response would be why do we only seem to see it happen between Josh and Davis? Doesn’t seem to be an issue with anyone other receiver.
  8. 49ers aside, the home schedule looks pretty nice. The away though… cannot afford to lose at Met Life or Foxbrough next year. Have they replaced the turf in Detroit or is it still the same sort which took out Von?
  9. I think we have to accept this version of Josh - at least until the close season. Then I hope we see him back with Palmer again. But for now the best thing to do is let him be himself and hope the chips fall into place. Trying to change him now will just make things worse; see the run post Dolphins at OP to the sacking of Dorsey.
  10. Darnold. Purdy, like most of the 49er starters, was rested today.
  11. Part of me could hear the league saying to the 49ers "Lose, just lose!"... then Darnold does that.
  12. Think Browns at Texans will get the late Saturday afternoon slot, with Rams at Lions following. Bills at Steelers could be Sunday early, followed by Eagles at Bucs then Packers and Cowboys on Sunday night with Dolphins at Chiefs on Monday. Not sure what they'll do if it's Bills at Dolphins, considering it'd have just had the Sunday night slot. Guess it'll slightly depend on how tonight's game goes.
  13. Now the Packers have won, the Seahawks might as well lose against the Cardinals and look to improve their draft position, even if it's only slight.
  14. And the Rams have just taken the lead over the 49ers. If the scores stand then Stafford returns to Detroit, whilst the Packers go to the Cowboys. Edit: Packers have sealed the win over the Bears with a 1st Down and locked up a Wildcard place.
  15. Trick play from the Cardinals against the Seahawks. On 4th down near the red zone, the kicker and holder came on, and Murray quickly threw for a TD. Cardinals lead 20-13.
  16. The Dolphins probably won't be as banged up next week. Let's get the second seed. If the Bills lose they're back in Miami for the wildcard.
  17. The refs. Brown didn't go down in the first(?) quarter. And they played better than they are here.
  18. Apparently they're not sure whether to move on from Fields. If so, they'll pick a QB at one.
  19. I hope they trade their next few firsts for Russell Wilson.
  20. Hurts injured the middle finger on his throwing hand early in the game. The clip of it was... not nice. Sensible to pull him now and try to sort him out for next week.
  21. They need to pull Hurts. He's injured, they're 24-0 down and the Cowboys are up and in possession against the Commanders. Protect and move on. They've already lost Brown.
  22. And then get woken up in a huge way by whoever is representing the AFC. Howell is going to be a back up at best next year.
  23. Gilmore injured and off the field for Dallas.
  24. They may still scrape past the Bucs. Obviously they'll have to play better than this. Can't see them doing anything against the rest based on this performance, though.
  25. I said last night it seems like the Ravens had given up. I take it back, because they played tougher than the Eagles are right now. Interesting to see switching Desai for Patricia has worked out for them.
