The Bills actually have not beat Mahome's Chiefs in Buffalo, ever. Of course, that's not the point. What we really need is to beat them in the playoffs. In AFC, only Tom Brady and Joe Burrow were able to beat Mahomes in the past. We'll see when Allen gets on that short list. Both teams are dealing with key injuries so if they meet in the playoffs, the teams might look different. There is no mystery between these two teams. But I'll say the Bills' running game might be something different from what we present to the Chiefs in the past. Cook has taken a noticeable step, as well as Davis who they have not faced before. So we'll see how this running games presents meaningful difference against the Chiefs vaunted defense. Let's face it, we have faced a number of stout run defenses and we are able to run on all of them, even in losses to the Ravens and the Texans (we just stopped running because of scores etc.), and unlike years of past, running game is a key component of Bills offense overall. On the flip side, it will give the Chiefs first hand knowledge how to defend our run game, tendencies and plot a way to better defending it coming January.

Good observation. BUT, we know luck is a big part of any sports, especially football. Because he rushed slow, way past the QB line AND being blocked right there, the sacked/fumbled ball bounced right to his feet.

Something is not right between Allen and Samuel. Seems like he's always stationary waiting for the ball whereas Collins' last receptions shows he can get the ball on the run. Easy for defenders to read Samuels' case.

@Bad ThingsThat's right on the nose. Especially on defense where Allen can't influence the play much. Mahomes walked into the situation you have Chris Jones already. Brady had the benefit of HoF players Ty Law, Seymour already on the team when he rose to promise.

Around 15 minute mark, they talk about Allen. He refused to compare Josh to Kelly. But Sal spoke for him eventually. And I think this is how league wide, players and analysts all feel about the same on Allen. You don't get to be compared to the greats until you bring the Bills to the Superbowl. I'm pretty sure Allen is aware of that as well, fair or not, that being more of a team thing than individual achievements. Many ranked Joe Burrow ahead of Allen largely because of his Superbowl appearance never mind he had all star WR corp and running backs then. Andre also said this year Allen became a "complete Quarterback." People may think that unlike Jackson, Allen always have the ability to run and pass and do BOTH very well. Well, I think Andre is seeing what we are seeing this year; Allen's decision making is quite a step up from what he had done in first 6 years in NFL. Allen was very raw entering in NFL, top level arm, underrated running ability, and quick wit (Beane noticed that, which to me is very important for someone needing to make snap decision under pressure). He had to work thru his mechnics issue, learning how to read defenses (Allen admitted his first year he's pretty much lost). He's finally reaching the stage of refining his football decision making process. Prior to this year, some of Allen's poor decisions resulted INTs, but some of them also resulted in big plays, unbelievable plays due to his physical ability. This year I saw very few poor decisions from him, and we are seeing a much more steady flow of the offense over all.

Quality overall talent may be the same but a HoF level player can make a huge difference. That's Chris Jones. and the Bills don't have one. The Bills need consistent 11 players doing their 1/11 well to stop them. The Chiefs can have slacks here and then because one guy plays above the scheme to cover the rest. Still hope Van can flash some in the playoff this year.

I don't know man. Ever since he came back from the neck injury, I don't remember he made one play that reminded me of the old Hyde. I believe the improvement will come from within, especially the younger players who have more room to grow. I wish they have found ways to get Bishop more snaps in this particular case. On the Defensive side, I'm hopeful Carter, Williams continue to improve and Von somehow gets back to top form. That's more realistic than expecting someone sitting on the couch for 2/3 of the season and than jump into to save the team. The Chiefs last year in December had a 4 games stretch that they lost to the Packers, the Bills, and the Raiders. But the young players gained loads of experience and went on to win the superbowl.

I know it's a popular theme in Buffalo media. "Micah will be back," as if he's going to vault the safety play to another level. If the coaches believe that's the case, wouldn't they have asked Micah already? Maybe Micah is holding out for more money😗 The Micah we saw last year, especially down the stretch, was not good. I may even add not at the Hamlin level today (Hamlin actually improved during the season in my eye). It was pretty obvious last year Poyer out-played Micah, even though neither was very impactful. The only thing people are holding onto is that Micah knows the McDermott system and can be trusted as the "last-line of defense" dutifully. I remember seeing his video comparing his role on the football field to the center fielder in baseball, "no balls over my head". I saw a recent Wednesday interview by Rapp and he's now saying exactly the same thing. Micah, at his peak, is a better player than Rapp in pass defense and can run the route for the opposing WRs. But that's not the same player we saw last year and I doubt he has found the Fountain of youth this year.

This is not your father's NFL any more. Ask a player with an obvious injury to play with a real possibility of worsen the injury? NFLPA and lawyers will be all over the case.

That's the concern, no doubt. The Bills D relies on everyone play sound, in right position, etc. In January, we are going to face opposing offenses who are capable of doing the same: sound, and executing the offense consistently well. Then a guy or two who can play above the scheme will beat us. We are pretty much pin our hope on Milano who can occasionally rise up to the level of "above the scheme" guy and Von who has a proven tracking of doing so in the past. Among the young guys, there is a small chance Rousseau may surprise us but I'm not holding out hope because he has not done that in the past 4 years!

I said before that this is actually one of the things the Bills of this year improved overall: turnovers. Turnover is the biggest factor swinging a game beyond general level of teams. So far the Bills, particularly Josh Allen who admitted that making the right decision being his off-season focus this past off-season, look to be right on track in having the lowest turnover in years. Injury is another unpredictable factor and the Bills are kind of middle of the road in that regard. So overall, no turnovers + no critical injuries means better team wins in general. I expect the trend to continue this Sunday even though the result may be too close for comfort.

Much like the Bills released Edwards. Good organization treats players right. I was hoping Calais Campbell would ask the Dolphins to release him or trade to the Bills (not likely for within the same division). He played hard Sunday but mingled with Bills player unusual amount DURING the game in between plays, including talking to Allen a number of times.

There is no 2021-Von Miller type for Bills to go all in on. We need a "ability to play above scheme" guy to push us over the top. And we know no one is going to trade such guy in prime year at the trade deadline.
