  1. Somehow I knew you were going to express yourself eloquently and express your love for both Buffalo and this unnerving tragedy. Your piece is masterful. There seems to be some very positive news about Damar this morning! For those of us who have lived in Buffalo 🦬 for a short period of our lives, in my case 1970-1982, I still consider it to be home in my heart. Truly. I brag to my NC friends that the folks in Buffalo are the most genuine and loving of all people where I’ve lived (CT, Buffalo then NC). We were there for the Blizzard of ‘77, my two kids were born at Sisters and Millard Fillmore Suburban, I taught at 3 schools during those 12 years. I love the city and this team, which was part of the foundation of my 52 years of marriage. My husband died from Leukemia 14 months ago, and my children and their children continue the religion of Bills football with every game. I’ve had DIRECTV and have almost never missed a game since 2000. Shaw, you reduced me to happy, reminiscent tears. Let the chips fall where they may with all these decisions that are out of our control, and may the team that I love, in the City that I love, prevail forever. Go Bills! Hold our heads high and our spirits strong!
  2. Once again, you hit a home run (touchdown?) here. Like you, I was uncommonly calm through most of the game, and it almost didn’t matter about winning or losing. It was evident that these Bills were totally in the game, either way. When Josh didn’t get the call on that obvious leg trip, I began to see the light…I knew that being annoyed would trigger a response. And it did! My poor dogs, after 3 plus quarters of sleeping away the afternoon/evening until the Johnson interception, and the woohoos began. Then passion and reality and joy set in. It takes a little more to get excited or worried than it used to, much better for our blood pressure and health. Go Bills!
  3. Thanks for being back the past few weeks. Didn’t know trolling could be so much fun, and how incredible it is to watch our team almost make it boring. After all the lean years, it’s amazing to have no drama for most of the game. I’m curious what you might think about a McCaffrey trade, since he’s on my radar (moved to Winston-Salem NC from Buffalo in 1982.) Panthers are such a mess, reminiscent of the past 20 or so years before Josh. I really liked your two tales.
  4. Thanks for the explanation. While I agree that the first two games defy description, I hope that you’ll continue, even at a diminished pace. You are such a bright spot (and have been during the lean and depressing seasons) and it’s going to be hard to see you fade away. Maybe the muse will be fed by this year and this team, and you’ll be refreshed and renewed. Thanks for the wonderful posts over the years. I hope you’ll write a book about our Bills.
  5. It was a great a relief to see the Rockpile Report after the Titans’ game. When there was no word from you after the Rams game, I feared that you had retired your report for good. Perish the thought! Your insight is why I check the boards. I laughed when you described the sound of women’s voices in the covered/heated section where you sit, and those of us who weren’t there can only imagine the loudness quotient throughout the stadium. It DID come across on our tvs. Please keep going here, especially with this year’s talent to discuss, and know that you have a fan club. Go Bills!(from NC.)
  6. So glad to finally see your posting, and that travel back and forth to CT/Buffalo is so rough. You are my favorite poster and I was worried. Whew. Your observations about the wind and the quality of our opponent (lack thereof) have calmed me down. People who haven’t lived in Buffalo just can’t comprehend how brutal it is just to stand up. Sadly, the Patriots are used to bad weather, too, but maybe not the penetrating gales off Lake Erie. Will you be replicating that trip again on Saturday? If so, stay safe and cheer your heart out. We can do this, and Go Bills!
  7. Boogie Basham will surprise everyone with his understated skills. Having watched him at Wake Forest for years, he is a total workhorse, and fans love him. Crossing my fingers that Buffalo will see how exciting he can be.
  8. Love Basham, and huge Wake fan. How about picking Sage Sarratt, also from Wake Forest, in the next round? Like Basham, he’s a jewel of a player. So thrilled to watch Boogie for years to come after the past 4. I think Bills fans will love him.
  9. What a wonderful thread this morning! In retrospect, the most impressive part of last night was the use of the clock for those last 7 + minutes. Josh became a complete player, with another facet of his development shining. It wasn’t long ago when we had terrible clock control, and the team erased that last night. So excited, and Go Bills!
