  1. Usually i take few days before commenting a loss, because i need to elaborate it without let my emotions drive my thoughts.

That said and agreeing with all of your different analysis that can be all correct, i want to ask you this:

do we still believe that the Bills can have a great season, going deep in the playoff, dunno if reaching the SB and that Josh is a top elite QB ?

Or this loss changed your point of view on this judgment ?

  2. So… maybe, right now, everybody can see the unique and essential role that TK has to the Chiefs and Mahomes.

I’m not saying Mahomes isn’t a great and gifted QB, of course he is, generational talent, so like Josh is but there is a X factor that made, till now, a “little” (sarcastic) difference between the two when we talk about goal achievement and I’m referring at SB and MVP.

Put TK in Bills uniform the last three years and see how things could have ended.

  3. In sport, we all saw it hundreds times, the main reason that makes players/athletes and teams reach unexpected results, is all about motivations.

Yes.. the famous “chip on the shoulder”.

Do you think that our guys don’t read what has been said and wrote in this past months/weeks ?

All the hype on the Jets and Rodgers ?

That we have too many weak holes ? That McDermott is a very good coach but that he can’t be the coach for a Superbowl trophy ?

And what about the schedule ? Yes.. that our schedule is brutal like hell ? Breaking news: every game start 0-0 and also the other Teams will play the Bills !

And most or all: that Josh is now behind not only Mahomes but also behind Burrow and Rodgers and Hurts ? That he’s a turnovers machine ?

And many other words… against the Bills.

I close this way: let the health be with us and you’ll see what the Bills will be capable of this year.

  4. Simple question:

who would you want as the Bills HC in an hypothetically SB game ?

Who do you think it would be the best one in that game ?

The choice has to be between coaches still in action, retired ones doesn’t count.

  5. Unfortunately, till now, BB didn’t land what everybody here hoped for: OBJ (gone), or DHop (almost gone).

Be honest guys, we desperately wanted one of those two in Buffalo, but the blockbuster didn’t happen.

Imagine this offense with DHop: unreal ! In this list we would be easily top 2, number one to me.

With Adam Henry added as a coach and the need to go with a greater investment on offense I wonder if we see something like this:

    QB Allen

RB Hines/Cook + Latavius Murray as a larger back for short yardage (1 mil salary in 2022)

    WR1 Diggs

    WR2 Beckham

    WR3 Davis

    WR4 Shakir/Mckenzie/2nd Round Pick

    TE Knox/Sweeney

    LT Dawkins

    LG 1st round Pick

    C Morse

    RG  Bates

RT Brown/ FA /3rd or 4th Round Pick

Now mind you most estimates have the Bills with about 30 mil in cap space with projected restructures on the way and cuts. ODB on spotrac is estimated contract at 13 mil although I do wonder after all the noise, lack of play, and injuries if that deflates down to 9-10 million. Also Beane said they were not planning on a major signing (granted GMs never are fully honest). They could probably structure the contract to space the cap hit later to protect themselves but you would need to commit for 3 years I would think for ODB. Also signing ODB means Poyer is gone and Edmunds for sure is gone while you have 10-13 million tops to fill those holes as draft usually is 7-8 mil in cap space.

On the flip side the offense has a lot more juice, you get a WR in the 2nd for the long term, the offense line gets younger help, and a guy like Murray is a nice big back.

This is just hypothetical and its fun, what are your thoughts?

Sweeney ? Hello no ! Go all in for Gronk !

  7. Honestly, very honestly: are you really convinced that the Jets, Phins and maybe even the Pats will be better than the Bills next season ???

Lately i read many of you thinking this way, are you serious ?

The Bills won’t own the Division anymore ?

A team with JA17 at the helmet will fall behind those teams ?

Please tell me the truth: is this what you really think ?

    I can’t believe it !

I have been DYING TO KNOW what your name is, Giulio!

Now I know!  I'm about a year older than you, of Italian ancestry, also love good food and cooking good Italian food...and am a huge Juventus fan.  I have been wondering if you also follow Juve.  You live in Juve country for sure!

You gotcha ! I’ve been a diehard Juventus ultras since four years ago; few things happened that I really didn’t like so i give up on soccer and now follow just american sports, cycling, winter sports and other. I’m a truly sports-man 😁

How you became a soccer (Juve) fan ?

I used to live in Miami and work in law enforcement during the day. I don't sleep much, I had kind of a messed up childhood, so I kept busy with other things by night. From the outside, I had your typical life... married, had a son, was relatively close, but awkward, with my step-sister.

Appearances can be deceiving, though. Nothing's forever. Things got weird when, after my wife died and I sent my son to live with a stranger, my step-sister developed this bizarre crush on me... I felt like life jumped the shark for a bit, so I spent some time wandering after inexplicably surviving an ill advised boat trip.

Things got back on track... kinda... about 10 years later when I reunited with my son. We have a complicated relationship, though. I won't bore you with the details.

Anyway, being a Bills fan helps me keep my dark passenger in check... or does it... maybe we'll find out some day if my "code" results in you finding yourself an invited guest at my table.

    Oh, and GO BILLS!!

Personal stuff must remain personal, but i feel you .

I’m sure that if i’ll have another chance to come there in vacation, you will know i’m coming so i could be guest of many of you ! 😄😄😄

No worries my friend.  You let me know when the weather improves.  I already talked to my oldest and he said he’d be honored to help a fellow Paizan.  His mom is a Bonaventura.  Real Irish huh?  😇

You know what ? Feeling to be a part of this great fanbase, a family, it’s a bless.

I always dreamed about the US, since i was 7/8 years old i could say, so i’ve been lucky to come there almost 15 times in my life, between my 25 and my 35 and it was always a greatness.

Now i’m thinking to try the Green Card Lottery… and who knows, maybe one day me and my family will have the opportunity to move and start something over there.

Anyway yes… when the cold will drop a little, we can arrange a good practice. 😄

I am Dave.  ("Hi Dave.")  I've been a recovering Bills fan for all of my 59 (almost 60) years.  My last Bills game attended was 17 days ago....

I retired as a National Park Ranger in 2016, then worked as an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for a hospital in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State.  My wife and I retired (again) in 2020 and started a 10-month trip around the world.  A trip that was cut short after 78 days due to the global pandemic that I had written a plan for while working as a hospital Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.  🙄  We only made it to 3 of the 20 countries we had planned.

We honeymooned in Italy and are planning to return for our 20th anniversary in 2025.  Among other areas in Italy, we want to get up to Milan and the Italian Alps.  We read the book, "Beneath a Scarlet Sky", which is now one of our favortite books.  We are so intrigued to hike in the mountains where Pino Lella guided Jews escaping into Switzerland.  The book was so well written, we can envision exactly what it looks like.

Giulio, are you familiar with this book?  Do you know where Pino and his brother were sent to escape the Allied bombing?  When we get there, maybe we can meet up.

Hi Dave. Honestly never read that book, i’ll ask my favorite library about it. It would be nice meet you the next time you’ll be here.

    Ciao, Giulio!

I'm Tom, 59, Italian-American, originally from western NY state (about 60 miles south of Highmark Stadium.) I'm married and have a son.

I'm an engineer, instructional designer, professor emeritus, author, and armchair philosopher. After a stint in the machine tool industry, I found my true calling in higher education, where I was a professor of engineering technology for three decades. I retired from the classroom in 2018; I'm now a freelance writer and editor. My wife is also a writer and our son is a graphic artist. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, listening to music, being in nature, watching football, and making somewhat recognizable sounds with an acoustic guitar.

I've been a Bills fan since Fergie was throwing to Bobby Chandler and OJ was famous, not infamous.

Woow Tom, you seem full of skills ! 😄

Giulio, my wife, and I are booking our next cruise on our upcoming cruise (leaving one week from today!!!). It will be a 9-day Greek Island Cruise, and the port will be Rome. We're going to stay a week in Italy, taking a bullet train to Venice and staying there for 4 or 5 days. Are you close to Venice?

Currently taking Italian through the Pimsleur app. So I may hit you up on how to say "Do you have any vodka" in Italian.

Anyhoo, I'm Ken. I'm 56. Work at Yahoo, I'm a Real Estate Agent, and I'm in a band. Boomerang

Hi Ken. I don’t live so close to Venice, almost 4 hours far by car. My town is Morbegno, pretty close to Milano. Would be nice meet and have a good lunch.

Do you have any vodka in Italian ? Very easy: HAI UN PO’ DI VODKA ? 😁

Hey Giulio:  I’m Chris, 68, and live in God’s country, Ga.  Married a girl from Buffalo, whom I met in Brussels when traveling after college.  Just retired after 45 years as an educator.  Became a Bills fan while doing grad school at UB in the 80s.  Our 2 sons are part of Bills maffia too as their first NFL game was at Rich.  Love your country best.  I did Europe on $5 a day (or 5000 lira, lol).  I took a freight train in the livestock car from Florenza to Roma.  Love your posts.  I was wondering if you actually live in Italy.  Now I know.  How did you become a Bills fan?  Blessings!!

Hey ! I still live here, my city is Morbegno, look for it. I become a Bills fan in the 1989… and since then, never gave up.

yes, it was 5,000 Lire at that time.

My Paizan friend, I’ll respond later, as I have a crazy week, but that’s a nice question for the board.  I’ll read these posts as it tells a lot of each of us.  I just don’t want to sell short to you as I’ve offered to show you how to catch a football including a zoom call.  I know a bunch of the guys would do the same.  On that point, I think the best thing I can set up for you bud is having one of my oldest sons housemates zooming with you one weekend and we’ll play catch and we’ll show you.  Ian was an excellent QB in his youth.  I was his coach to begin his career.

well pm and see if we can make that happen maybe next weekend.  Besides I’d love to see your family.  Btw- Ian’s I think 30% Italian American.

I’ll reach out on you’re question this weekend.

Hey buddy. I feel sorry i wasn’t able to get a zoom call yet.. learning how to properly throw a football would be great… but right now outside is something under 30f degree 🥶

Dear Giulio, I love Italy and I love your enthusiasm for the Bills!.  But I have to say I really prefer southern Italian food, not what you have up north.  Being from Western NY, all my Italian friends from school were Sicilian and they introduced me to cannoli.

It's OK, we can still be friends.

Believe me, come here and visit me and you’ll taste some food you won’t never forget. 😉

I'm 59, father, brother, teacher of Romance Languages (among which Italian!), lifelong Bills fan. Not sure how to private message you on this forum but it would be very cool to Skype or Zoom with you one day. Planning a trip to my beloved Bologna sometime this summer. Go Bills, go Bologna FC!

I do have Skype, so we can always arrange something cool 😃

I missed also to say i’m also a brother and uncle 🙉

Ah, it is funny, the Italian connections.

I am 55, wife and two kids; a 21 year old daughter and an 18 year old son.

Grew up in Western New York which started this masochistic obsession. Have lived many places over the years and currently reside in Tennessee.

I am a product director for a tile company and so spend much time with Italians, and come most years to Bologna in September. Love that city and the food is terrific. Also end up in Sassuolo, Imola, Maranello, etc…

I mostly lurk here but wanted to say welcome to the board, IB. I like your passion. 👍

I’ll try my best to come there next season with my family. Maybe leaving them in Orlando, playing in Disney World, so i can be “single” again for few days 😂
