  1. This board has been invaded by the computer slammer geeks. The chat rooms on AOL must be empty right now. Do you clowns have any real opinions? any real ideas? It must be that the real secret to life is making as many cyber-friends as possible with cheesy one liner slams. Man, you must be sick of high fiving your computer screens. What happens when the computer goes off? Do you lay in bed thinking of the next crappy one liner for tomorrows series of slams? Now thats living! I only I could be cool enough to sit alone at my computer, plugged in for hours, waiting for the next post to trash. So, I can snicker under my breath, waiting for a smiloy face response, or a way to go, from some other cyber geek with no life. Ahh, the waiting must kill you. Sitting there waiting for some one to think your actually cute, or smart for your witty cracks. Man, thats validation that your a real person.
  2. Wow, I expect a little more from you. Right, got it. All new ideas are bad. Change is bad. Must destroy any attempt to change. OK, Im now programmed.
  3. Ohh yeah, the other part of the Barry Brady equation....Trade down all pick to the lowest possible round. If we could only have the next ten Mr. Irrelevants we would be set!
  4. One more thing, Im not sure your worthy of responses yet. I think you may still be in obscurity for wanting AVP or Jeff Blake as our starter, thank god for TD!
  5. Ahhh, now im refreshed, I havent seen a the sky is down the ground is up, post in a while. You may not like it but Drew Bledsoe holds the ball on EVERY offensive down! He also has to hold and throw the ball on EVERY passing down. So, looking through his glasses is pretty damn important. Furthermore, the QB position is ALWAYS going to be VERY important to a teams success. Weve been over this, I know you think the QB is just another DB or something, I cant squeeze water from a rock.
  6. Drano in your eyes? Third grade contest? CFL? Are you frikkin clowns serious? First of all, GB, The Jets have an oval background with there logo, I dont see the CFL crack at ll. Second of all, If you dont like it, just say you dont like it. You dont win a gold star for best slam here. Quit being smart-as_es in hopes of making friends, get off your computers and get a real life, then you will have friends. Gheez, you guys are great, I cant wait to give you my next idea.....NOT. Relax a bit, its just a drawing. Ohh and by the way....Change can be good believe it or not. For some reason Im picturing an 80 year old Neanderthal.....HMMMMMM!
  7. Bledsoe: Be as effecient as he was against Jags. Continue to get the ball out, avoid sacks, make smart decisions to dump it or eat it, continue good accuracy. O-line: Continue smash mouth aggressive run blocking, dont change because of quality d-line in the opponent, This will build confidence and allows them to continue to jell. Continue to play very sound ball, dont let down and start a chain of penalties. Play within the scheme, focus and do just what your asked in the red-zone. Receiving corp: HOLD ONTO THE DAMN BALL!!!!! Learn from last week that the D will be trying to punch out the ball. Make the catches, get open . D: Do what you do best, play a touch smarter on 4th's and 3rd's just play tight coverage, dont try too much...can be feast or famine. Coaching: Stay the course, your on the right track. Mix it up to keep D's honest, dont translate that to changing the run to pass ratio. Dont try too much and risk the big turnover. Be more creative in the red-zone....dont just pound the ball up the gut, swing runs, TE roll outs, short crosses, pitches. The center of the field is always stacked stay out of there. Continue great game day adjustments, play challenges, and decision making. I continue to believe that this team is headed to the playoffs!
  8. Check out my avatar. Ill attach the JPG if I can figure out how
  9. As far as Im conecrned us fans and the media got everything they wanted on sunday short of a win. This is FAR from the home of the twelthe man anymore! Bills Daily is absolutely deplorable for there crappy negativity. This is not even remotely the same team that we saw last year. Drew was effecient, accurate, and avoided sacks. Not the Drew we saw last year. Mularkey and the coaches made the RIGHT call by punting the ball, GW would have gone for it! Yet, with all the first down, ball control offense, fiery defense, effecient QB'ing, quality schemes, playcalling, adjustments, and game day management, the media and fans here claim this is the same ole Bills? These arent MY fans, this isnt the home of the 12th man anymore! How fickle we have all become. It was 1 damn game, and just as easily we could have won it. Would you all still make the same negative posts if we had won? If they had not made that final play and we had won? If basically the ENTIRE game was the same except for that one play? I GUARANTEE you would not have slammed this team the way you have. I know better. I will be here slamming all of YOU when this thing is going strong by week 10. The media is the root of all evil, and this week, BillsDaily was the devil! Its so easy and irresponsible to simply post negative crap. Like he even admits, if hes wrong great, and if hes right he looses no face. Too many media and too many fans are just like that. Gutless worms who cant stand for anything or stick out for anything. Gutless. That aint the heart of the 12th man! That aint the heart of this team! None of you get to join us TRUE fans on the wagon to the superbowl. You stick to jumpin on wagons labeled "band". Take a hike with this disease you call realism. Its not realism its CRAP! It aint even real, its gutless crap that doesnt even remotely represent what this team is, or what its about. We dont know yet, but much of what I watched I liked alot. Ill stick my neck out right now, this squad is headed to the playoffs. They finally have quality coaching, schemes, and the right type of attitude. They had the talent already! I expect clowns like BillsDaily, ESPN, NBC, etc to finally wake up to the Bills by about the start of the playoffs. Those of us who earn the right to be called 12th men, knew it from game 1!!!!!!!!
  10. Im not so quick to lump this team into the status quo category. I saw signs of being a well coached team today. I believ coaching cost us the playoffs last year. Let me go into more detail. I wanted to see game day management and adjustments, I saw that. I wanted to see us manage the clock, we did that. I wanted to see us challenge calls at the right moments, we did that. I wanted to see us make quality play calls, we did that. GW would have frikkin gone for it rather than kicking the FG or punting. I saw well thought out game plans, a coaching team that coached to the players shortcomings, Drew was effecient, productive, and basically sack free. I saw hints of quality coaching that will meanthe difference between wins and losses. I dont agree that we cant overcome mistakes. The long bomb on 4th down was seriously just bad luck. 9 time out of 10, Clements breaks that play up. We easily could have gotten a offensive pass interference on that play, the call was there. Great teams make the right play calls and make the right coaching moves late in the game, I think we did that, but luck was not on our side. Coaching wont prevent that long bomb, Clements did what he was supposed to do. Coaching wont prevent penalties completely, players still get them. Coaching put us in the position to win today, a few costly mistakes cost us the game. I think our O is good enough, our D is awesome, and finally our coaching is good. Thats a recipe for success. It may take a few games to start rolling that way.
  11. I only saw 1 play were he got beat. And I dont mind that if theres no sack, where are all the sacks if he played that bad? How did we rush for over 100 yards? The stats dont back you on this. I fear that your opinion on the Bills is more of an attitude that you have merely carried over from previous long hard seasons. Too bad, I think with a fresh mind and another review of the game, you may see an entirely new team here.
  12. Again, read the fine print. they had 5-111 for kick off return defense. 5-111? are you kidding me? The Steelers put up 24 point on them and scored in every quarter, that says to me that there D played like crap. They also put up 21 points on the Steelers. That tells me that they were in a shootout, I dont see our D allowing us to get into a shootout. I think we rebound and upset them in Oak. Not really even a rebound, maybe I need to go back to drinking on football day, but the team I saw today, minus the fumbles, could play, and win, against anyone.
  13. Sorry, has to be said! Im permanently sick of the whiners who kick the hell out of the honorary scapegoat whipping post, the o-line. No other unit was as good as the line. 2 penalties total, yes 1 killed us. No sacks because of blitzers, just Drew eating it. Ran for over 100 against a great d-line. Converted many 1st including a few 3rd and long runs. Showed a tough attitude and no apparent missed blocks. The only other unit that competes is the LB's, the Spikes hit on Reggie Williams is an all time classic. They played tough but gave up some big plays at the end. Who are Denvers 1st round o-lineman again? How many 1000+ rushers have they had? Get off the lines back, they played great today, and if we do that every week, we go to the playoffs for sure.
  14. First of all, we all could simply make a post with the statement, "we could have drafted (insert name here) instead of Lee Evans" and try to say that if we had drafted that player instead we would have won or would have played better. Talk about your pipe dreams! We all could do that because ims ure we all had a favorite player that we wanted the Bills to draft. Didnt go that way, get over it. I personally wanted a trade up for Roy Williams. Im over it. The meat of your statement on Andrews has flawed logic. You seem to imply that we were lacking on the o-line today and that it cost us plays. The strongest unit on the field was the offensive line today, IMO. L Smith pulled a great lead block, we gave up no sacks (because of the line), had few penalties, and ran basically at will for many first downs. What we DID have was a huge penalty at the worst possible time. One play doesnt mean we should gut the line and start over. Using your logic, we should have moved up and got L Fitzgerald or R Williams! I mean that our biggest drive killers were dropped balls and fumbles by WR's, so does that mean we should can them all? I think not. If you feel we lost because of lack of scoring, I would agree but would place the blame on fumbles, not the o-line. I even felt that last years nemesis with not converting 3rd downs wasnt a real problem today, again I feel we moved the ball well. Hang on to the damn ball more and we would have had more points. As far as a QB who plays with his feet, thats a nice thing to have but not necessary. Jake Delhomme? Tom Brady? Peyton Manning? come on, you can put uo plenty of points by getting the ball out quicker and throwing accurate short to mid range passes. Guess what we did that today. One more item on 1st and goal from the 3. I have NEVER been a fan of successive runs up the middle in that situation. Spice it up...fade passes, TE roll outs, swing runs, pitches, all seem like better plays than the obvious run up the middle. I screamed at that play too because it looked like Shelton was open and Drew should have thrown. They showed another angle and the S had him covered. Drew did the right thing by eating it and not forcing it. I see your comment about not having the o-line talent to dominate a game. Who are the first rounders on Denvers starting line again? Who is that stud, franchised-every-year, LT on Denver? They have had a gazillion 1000+ rushers and have NO 1st rounders. The lien I saw today, against a great run defense, would play well enough to win any game against any competition. Where are all the sacks if the line is that bad? We ran for over 100 yards aganist a great run D. We had I think 2 line penalties all game. I fear that your opinion on the Bills is more of an attitude that you have merely carried over from previous long hard seasons. Too bad, I think with a fresh mind and another review of the game, you may see an entirely new team here.
  15. Good luck with that, your gonna need help soon, look under counseling services in the yellow pages.
  16. shame on you, irresponsible take. The numbers dont back you at all. Look at the numbers and you walk away happy. We lost a good tough game, thats all. We did all the things great teams do, with the exception of winning.
  17. Heres why 1) Our D is every bit as good as last year. 2) We capatalized on turnovers (coundt do it last year) 3) Drew, at least in this game, is a new QB. The ball was out quick, accurate, only 1 sack. Very effecient and productive. 4) our O-line opened holes for a productive running game and played VERY well against a STRONG d-line 5) We ran more than we threw, even against a top run D 6) We showed good play calling and clock management 7) Our DB's looked good, Reese and Clements with INTS 8) Good game management with Mularkey punting rather than going for a long, and probable miss FG. 9) Mularkey showed what I wanted to see, good playcalling, good game day management. 10) DB's up on the line jamming receivers 11) Vincent hits BETTER than Winfield and looks better overall as far as i am concerned 12) Moulds is back, got open, and I believe will do it all year! Now for the bad: 1) I would have every single receiver spend monday through wednesday at the jug machine. Whats up with all the dropsy's? 2) Crucial holding penalty on Villarial may have cost us the game! 3) 4th down twice and we blow our coverage to lose the game. 4) McGahee is good but he is absolutely NOT as good as Henry at this point 5) Good teams put games away in our position today. All in all, I am pissed at the loss but I cannot point directly at any serious problem in the staff or players. I think this was a game that was played like a playoff game, could have gone either way, and we just plain lost. It EASILY could have been the other way. I refuse to say its the same old Bills, thats irresponsible, anyone who looks at the whole picture sees lots and lots of differences from last years team and lots and lost better. If feel Mularkey deserves ZERO blame for this and if anything deserves a pat on the back for being MUCH MUCH better than what we had last year. Yes, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. BUT, I now KNOW this team is headed in a great direction and finally has the coaching they need to win it all. I saw great things today, which gives me great hope for this year. I just wish we could have had a win, but with THIS team and with THIS staff they will come!!! Go Bills!!!!
  18. 1) Drew Bledsoe!!!!!! I cant say it enough, this is THE key to our season! If Drew shows tomorrow that he can get the ball out quick, throw completions even if not for long yardage, and avoid sacks, I believe we are headed DEEP into the postseason. Will Wyches new system for Drew work? I think so. We had hints of it in the pre-season. Drew was effecient. You may feel that it didnt mean squat without any TD's but I dont agree. If anything the pres-season is ALL about assessing the individual players considering there is no real game planning. I almost expect few TD's in the pre-season with vanilla planning. 2) Offensive game planning- What do we see tomorrow? will it be quality plays that completely take advantage of the opponents weaknesses? I think we see a real true spark and we will start to regain some of what we felt in the SB years, no matter what the game clock and scoreboard looked like, we always felt we could get it done. I bet we see an exciting, playmaking offense. 3) an ADAPTABLE offensive and defensive scheme- Do we see changes on the fly? Do we see adjustments that make a noticeable impact? I cant tell you how many games I watched under GW where we were getting eatin alive in the dink and dunk offense and yet we still played 10+ yards off the ball! Will we see some jamming at the line? Will we see some play action? Screens? Long bombs? double cross patterns? Will we see our team take the extra point and not go for the dumb 2? Clock management cost us games last year, do we have it under tight control THIS year? How about the 3rd and long, will we see runs? will we see passes in the 3rd and short? I think we see a completely different team that makes the smart moves and wins games!!!! 3) Travis Henry- He doesnt need to do anything more than what we expect he will do. Run, run, run. If he shows his typical ability to shake tackles and gain extra yards, I will instantly feel he goes for another 1300 yards plus. If he stutters it will bear furtrher investigation. 4) DB's- Its still the biggest worry I have on D. We will stop the run, we wont get much pass rush, but can we defend the pass? Clements can be counted on, Vincent? who knows, Milloy is out, Wire worries me as does Reese. If these guys can play tight coverage and stop the 10+ yard cushion of last year, I say we are instantly competitive in ALL of our games this year. If not, we could have a LONG season. Still, its Drew, Drew, Drew. I want to see him play the "new" system of fast release, shorter drops, and accurate shorter passes. If he does it well, WE ARE SET!!!! I am so stoked! its the unknown that gets me going. We cant assume jack squat at this point. We have zero data points. It could all be COMPLETELY right for the first time in SO long. I have a REALLY REALLY good feeling, just a gut, but I think this is our year!!!
  19. With out a DOUBT, pass interference! Let them fight for the damn ball! Fine, a CB is literally riding the WR like a horse. Does that deserve a spot of the foul penalty? So, the QB can see a WR getting mugged, simply throw the ball at his feet and get a 50 yard penalty resulting in a HUGE gain? B.S.!!!!! First of all, why does ANY football player deserve to go down field un freakin touched? This IS a contact sport! Secondly, What gaurantees that the WR will actually CATCH the ball anyways? They drop all KINDS of balls! Thirdly, Who says the pass is on target? QB's throw off target all the time. Finally, penalize a standard yardage for each infraction. Why is a 50 yard pass interference worth more than a 2 yard pass interference? Whats to say the 2 yards throw wouldnt be caught and run for 50 yards? Holding penalties count a straight amoutn whether it would have resulted in a loss of yards on the run or a TD.
  20. Hes seriously built like a brick sh_t House. I dont notice him that much last year, maybe he had a huge offseason. Hopefully Denney will go the way of Erik Flowers and disappear! Seriously, what has ever come out of BYU thats worth a crap. Steve Young and thats it. Pay less attention to accumlutaing wives and more attention to playing football!
  21. Tim Couch Ken-yon Rambo Travis Claridge K Noa Kenny Holmes Melvin Tuten Will Overstreet- May be injured Jim Miller Thoughts who would you grab? and who would you cut to get them?
  22. Give me a frikkin break. Pardon me, but have any of you a-clowns looked at pre-season records vs. regular season records? Turns out the majority of the time, teams that stink up the joint in preseason do the best in the regular season. Who the hell cares? Who cares about how they are doing with NO game planning, starters playing NO fullgames yet, and seeing a quarter of action. This is a tune up at best. You have ZERO clue about how this team will do at game time. Have seen how the Mularkey regime deals with game planning, game day tweaks, Halftime adjustments, or clock management. Did you all forget how important those aspects of winning games are? We have shown to be pretty slow in the first half as far as offense goes. Considering our starters havent played depp into the second half and that we have no game plan in the preseaon and probably make no halftime adjustments, how the hell can we read which games we would have won or lost thus far? Talk to me at the Bye week. If we go say, 2 and 0 or even 1 and 1, dont waste your breath on predicting a season record. If we are 0 and 2, I will have moderate concern but can chalk it up to a new head coach, starting o-line (2 new starters), and a new offense. Really, we cant get concerned until about week 7 when we have faced all our AFC East rivals once. Its the PRESEASON. Its meant for penalties and dumb as_ rookie or undrafteds making dumbas_ mistakes! Have we moved the ball? Yes! no TD's but also no gameplan. Have we stopped the ball? Yes! Pretty well against the talented Colts (yes they had no game plan but have several gamebreakers who make big plays even in vanilla schemes).
  23. One thing that hasnt been talked about (as far as Ive seen) is that this is a NEW head coach. Yeah weve all talked about Mularkey but not in this context. Mularkey could give 2 craps about players that were Gregg Williams favorites. Not only that but he has a whole new offense and vision for the right type of player for each position. So, dont count ANY player as a lock for a position. I bet that we see some suprises on the final cut day and heres my list: Joe Burns AND Ken Simonton are gone, Shaud is a Mularkey guy and has shown flashes Luke Lawton Bobby Shaw- gone- I think youth prevails here. J Smith is a Mularkey guy. Moulds, Evans, Reed, and Aiken (because of a reported strong camp) are locks. Shaw was a Steeler but hasnt shown jack in THIS season, remember the slate is clean. Drew Haddad- Id love for a UB guy to make it but lets face it hes camp fodder Ben Sobieski and Eposito- again slates clean, look who has gotten the reps, Pucillo wins out but is a backup to L Smith. Dylan Mc Farland- Yes he is a Mularkey guy but hes headed for the PS, just a hunch based on Sullivans reps McKenzie and Ritzman- Gildon is a Mularkey hire and an ex-Steeler personally I like McKenzie better than Gildon Bannan and Sape- Both havce shown zip so far and Anderson is a Mularkey guy Haggan OR Crowell- Haggan has shown special teams flash but neither is a Mularkey draftee Greer, Dixon, AND Prioeleau (whatever)- Pearson has looked sloppy and again the slates clean, Baker has shown flashes. Now thats 16 players cut. Were at 68 and go to 52. 1 gets saved your choice? If I read the depth chart right Joe Burns is splitting time at FB, hed be a guy to keep. McFarland would be another or maybe a LB for special teams like Haggan or Crowell. Id Love for it to be Haddad but it wont happen. I dont see Shaw staying and Aiken or Freddie Smith going, I know it seems crazy, just my hunch. Your thoughts?
  24. The way you see it today is the way it will be going into the season. His comments were that he sees no drop off and that the unit he has will start again. Jennings is back and played well today. Lawrence Smith is our starting LG. Mularkey said he hasnt seen a drop off there and if he had to guess it would be Lawrences job. I tend to agree. Watching the Colts game, L played well. Sullivan was the guy who screwed up. So, LT-Jennings- very good he is very solid at that spot LG-L Smith- looked pretty good so far. Big thing is only a few penalties, none in the Colts game if I remember correctly. C- Teague RG-Villarial- has been responsible for most of the long runs so far. RT- Mike Williams- Looked really good against the Colts IMO.
