For what it's worth...and it's not much... Here's my take on how things will shake out down the stretch: I predict the Ravens, Jets and Broncos all will lose next week while the Jags and Bills will win. The Bills will then beat the Steelers in Week 17 and be left praying for either a Jet loss in St.Louis and/or a Jax loss in Oakland...both of which are possible. I think this is the most probable scenario awaiting us. What do you think?

Denver, Baltimore and Jacksonville

I think Baltimore, Denver and NYJ lose next week for sure. That would put the Bills in great shape for Week 17, needing to beat the Steelers and then hoping for either a Jet loss in St. Louis or a Jacksonville loss in Oakland. -
Thanks so much. I know it's meaningless, and even though I hate math, I like numbers. I am a walking contradiction I guess.

Oh, great point! See, this is why math and I don't get along too well.

Amen! GO BILLS!

Jimbob gave me the numbers in another thread...there's a 12 percent shot at this happening... of course that number is meaning less considering it's predicated upon the belief that every game is a 50/50 win loss proposition... -
Ah, thank you:) So we have a 12% chance... Looks grim when you see it in that format, but it's better than nothing!
-
That can't be the answer...can it? Because wouldn't you have to factor in the chances that only 2 of the 3 teams get a Heads, or the chance that only 1 of the 3 teams get a Heads... It's not 50/50.

I just posted somehting about that...what is the statistical probility that that happens (assuming that an NFL game is a 50/50 win loss proposition)? I would really love to know the answer to that, -
I am afraid of math, but was wondering this: If each NFL game is a 50/50 Win Loss proposition, what is the statistical probibility that Denver, Baltimore and Jax lose at least one of their final two games? or, in other words... It's like 4 people flipping a coin twice. What's the chances that all four people get a Heads at least once? Can anyone solve that equation? I would love to know. Thanks!

Doh! My bad. They should be playing then...and it may be in Jacksonville...I think the Bills and Jx get the WCs. -

I'll be in beantown on the 21st of January...hopefully the Bills will be playing in Jacksonville that weekend. -
Another in an endless series...

Agreed. April talked about that during his PC. He said that when Peters was on the practice team, he played noseguard on the scout team punt block and Joe Dorenbaus couldnt block him...ever, even when double teamed. So he made a note that if Peters ever was activated, they would use him as a NG. Good coaching indeed! -
Okay, someone explain the 12 man challenge

Yes, on the radio they said the pictures they got during the timeout were confusing because of the shadows on the field. They said it made it appear that there were two gunners on the top of the screen rather than one. If you remember, the bengals were lined up in the center of the field, right where the shadows were the worst. -
no worries. I just didn't want you to worry too much
-
No. It was his left in college and his right knee today. Trust me.

Why do you guys care about the Jets?
CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I think the only way the Bills get in is if the Jets collapse. Both Jacksonville and Buffalo are going to be WCs this year...just watch. -

On the pregame show they went over the scenarios, if both the Jets and Bills finish 10-6, assuming the Jets lose to NE, the Bills have the edge. Plus, look at it this way, the law of probility is against the Bills if the Jets make it in. What are the chances that both WC go to a team in the same division? Pretty slim. So we better root hard for NE and (gulp) St. Louis. -
On the radio Murph was saying Travis may be activated next week. He is healing faster than anticipated. So it's possible that Travis starts next weekend. Personally, I say dress Willis and give him the rock, but once the game gets out of hand, yank him quick.

BAL must lose 2, DEN,JAX must lose 1 or :

Denver will lose next weekend, so the game will be moot regardless. Denver is the least of our concerns. The Jacksonville win coupled with the Jets win makes it very tough. I honestly don't see both the Jets and the Bills making it in (the laws of probability are against both WC teams coming from the same division), so the best shot for the Bills will be a Jet collapse... Which means NE and St.Louis have to come through....GULP. -

If you look at the statistics for the past 8 years, 70 percent of teams who win at least 5 of the last 7 games of the year make the playoffs the following year. It's a crazy stat for sure, but one that merits our attention. -

The Bills situation got bad today. Real bad. But let's look at the positives here. If the Bills finish 10-6, whether they make it into the playoffs or not, they will be heading into 2005 with SERIOUS steam. You cannot underestimate the way a team plays at the end of a season. It is a serious table setter for next year. So of course root for Jacksonville and Denver to lose one and the Jets and Ravens to lose two...but in the end, let's hope the Bills finish 10-6 -
Well, I guess he's fine:)
-
I hope they dont play him...

Yeah, I don't think it was that bad. I doubt he comes back for this game though. I worked a lot with physical trainers and saw plenty of hyperextensions when I played so I have some frame of reference. But I'm not a doctor.
