  1. Not a Vlad fan but Miller must not be impressing the coaches. Vlad and miller are essentially a wash in the coaches eyes. Vlad does not dress because he cannot back up center like Groy can. Same reason Miller won't dress today.

I'm more worried about our starters out at WR, CB, and LB than I am RG. The difference between Miller and Vlad is small, we want it to be big but it is not. The same cannot be said for our backup in the other positions.

I do not feel good about this game.

  2. Yes, the Bronco's have a pretty big National following plus Buffalo draws a lot of Canadian NFL fans.

Since the Bills have not given the younger Canadian fans any reason to be Bills fans, many of them come to the stadium as NFL fans and root for the visitors. I have experienced this when Dallas or New England comes to town.

  3. I am amazed that so many here wonder why the Anthem is played at a public sporting event? Maybe a generational thing as I hear some people believe in not saying the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. I like the anthem played at event. I love it actually.

I know where I stand. If the Anthem is played at a public event you stand at attention is a quiet and respectful manner, hats off for you gents. We should be thankful to live in America and have the rights we have. Freedom is a gift to us and unfortunately it is not a human right everywhere in the world.

If you wish to protest the Anthem then you should leave the field area or the stands. Players can go to the dressing, fans to the concessions. In this way you get to "protest" and the rest of us, who happen to be the overwhelming majority, are not offended. Those who do not "protest" should not harass the ones that do. So be it. It is their right to "protest".

Most of us cannot protest at work. Most of us will be punished or fired for doing so. NFL players who think this is helping their cause are misguided. NFL Players who choose this route to make a difference are taking the easy way out. The NFL is afraid to make a policy.

I wonder how the NFL would feel if all the police and security at the games decided to protest and go on strike at halftime of every NFL game for the season opener? A scary thought. Our police and our military are far more important then any off these players or any NFL game. Lets just hope they don't decide to "protest" while at work too. After all, it is their right!

  4. I think we have seen the problem with rapid GM/Coach turnover. Re-planning and changing schemes every 2-3 years will get you nowhere.

Look at the best players we drafted since the drought. Most of them had their best years on another team.

Even worse is drafting running backs in the first two rounds but not drafting QBs. Yikes, the bills have been the poorest managed NFL team for a very long time.

  5. This is the pretend Jordan Matthews is good thread. Lololol.

Jordan Mathews is a good WR, his performance on the field back that up. The issue is that Watkins was supposed to great and an impact player.

Look at the stats and you see that Mathews is a player that is ready on game day, averages 75 catches and 6 TDs per season. A solid #2 WR.

Look at Watkins stats and they are not quite up to Mathews. Not nearly the production you want from a #1 WR. Especially one that is going to ask for a huge raise.

You can blame injuries and you can blame Tyrod but the numbers speak for themselves.

  6. You guys crack me up.

Gaines and Darby are pretty much an even swap. The guys in the locker will see that immediately.

Watkins is a potential superstar that has not been healthy and has not delivered. He will be a tough loss, from a game planning standpoint we are easier to play against. However, we picked up a good young WR plus we have Boldin. Watkins has not been anywhere near the player we hoped for when we traded another #1 to move up and get him. Blame it on injuries and blame it on the QB but he was gone anyway after the season.

Stockpiling the 2nd and a 3rd picks next year is the smart move.

  7. I wish Doug the best too. I suspect he will resurface as a personnel guy somewhere in the league.

Look at Doug's tenure, he came in a "hot shot" from the great Pittsburgh organization. Unfortunately he worked for the most dysfunctional FO in the NFL with Russ Brandon and Buddy Nix at the helm. Nix was no GM, he is a good Scout and that is all Buddy Nix should have ever been. Brandon was not a football guy and never will be. We also had Tom Modrak, content to work from home in Jacksonville, a knowledgeable guy but he mailed it in. Jim Overdorf's management of the cap has been dreadful.

Doug did not pick Marone, he inherited him. He did not pick Rex either.

Doug made errors, but no more than the rest of the crew. He actually performed his job the best of the entire bunch named above. Better than the Pegula's too.

I bet we see him succeed in some capacity elsewhere.

  8. Whaley is making his job sound robotic with his "everyone has a boss, I just listen to the owners" ... I wish my Sr,Management position was as easy but for some reason my company makes me accountable for performance with yearly goals.

Whaley is dying. He said he did not want to "waste time" thinking about the firing of Rex, he wanted to go forward. He is lying and dying.

Why not say, "I agree with the owners decision for fire Rex"? Unless he doesn't agree of course.

  9. We learned that:

    1. EJ Manual will never play in the NFL again.

    2. Because of #1, this is a poor way to evaluate Lynn.

    3. Special Teams and Defense are chronically poorly prepared.

    4. Darby's regression continues

    5. Lots of players from Club Rex were going through the motions

  10. Lynn did a nice job as RB coach and as an OC. I just don't think this team will respond to him as a head coach. This team is filled with coach killers ... lazy players that collect a paycheck.

Lynn could do well as a HC but maybe he too needs a fresh start.

I hate to say it but the best thing to do here is blow it up. Including the firing of Doug Whaley tonight. I don't see it happening. Instead I see Whaley hiring Lynn and both getting fired in two years.

Walked into the locker room, first thing I see - Hughes and Zach Brown yucking it up as if they’d won. I know it’s not life and death (1/2)

but at least pretend you care that you just lost in embarrassing fashion to a 5-11 division opponent. It just spoke volumes to me.

wow! This is very worrisome indeed.

Both players disappeared this season. Lots of talk about lack of accountability. These two clowns are at the top of the list.

  12. 1. Win out to finish 10-6.

    2. Miami lose another game

    3. Denver loses to OAK and NE to get to 6 loses

    4. Tennessee lose a game

    5. Pittsburgh loses another game.

Buffalo would have h2h against PIT

Buffali would lose common games to Tennessee but beat Denver based on common games if they lose those games.

Wow, I did not think our changes were even this good. I think everything in #2 thru #5 is likely, some even very likely.

I just don't see this team wining four straight games again. Hope springs eternal.
