  1. With the cap likely jumping significantly next year with the new TV deals + fans back, Beane has a lot of restructure opportunities to free up more cap space. My dream remaining off-season and it is possible:

    Re-sign McKenzie and a bojorquez

    UFA signings on Covid deals

    CB: Richard Sherman

    TE: Hunter Henry

    DE: Yannick Ngakoue

pick 30: Ettiene falls to us

pick 62: if anything close to the above happens I don’t care

With the number of playoff teams expanding they have a shot next year. They barely missed out this year and it is hard to go by past performances as the league changes from year to year. Rams were also 8-8 this year and just snuck in.

Playoffs expanded to 7 teams per conference last year. I don’t believe any more teams will be added to the playoff pool in 2021??

    The "JJ Wattch" is on!!

Athletic article was a warning on signing him. Said he’s not effective as and end rushing any longer. Injuries and age has diminished his burst and bend. Is still very effective as an inside rusher But Houston rarely used him inside

    Who would you rather have?

    Kawaan Short

    or Watt?

    Short:

had 32.5 sacks (seventh-most in franchise history and most for a Panthers defensive tackle), 280 total tackles, 59 tackles for loss and 88 quarterback hits during his eight seasons in Carolina. From 2015-17, Short was third among all NFL defensive tackles in sacks (24.5), fourth in tackles for loss (35) and fifth in quarterback hits (52). His 11 sacks in 2015 are the most by a defensive tackle in a season in team history.

Both are a gamble bc of injury history.

Both - short will sign a 1 year prove it deal a la D. Williams

I get that Watt would be a splash as far as media attention goes, but for what the contract would likely look like, I don’t know that Beane would consider that a splash.

Lol at people pretending Watt is a negative locker room influence.

After the complete failure of the “splash” signing/trade of Diggs last year, I’m sure Beane’s going to avoid making that mistake again. Ohh....wait....

Lack of cap space just means teams have to be more creative.  If Watt and the team he desires want to make it happen, they’ll make it happen.  New Orleans probably only team that cap is a factor for, but they still always find a way to make it work.

Usually would agree but this year with the cap going down, cap creativity bid limited

me too. Very complimentary player i still think.

Rough season overall for  front seven in my opinion

JJWatt goes to Pittsburgh to play with his Brothers and we get Bud Dupree

     everyone wins

Pittsburgh is like 35m over the cap so they might not be a threat. I’d be more worried about greenbay. They’re just as much a SB contender as us and Watt is from Wisconsin. I’m not sure about they’re cap situation, probably similar to us
