Im pretty sure teams passed on him because they were convinced he had a steroid problem. It wasnt about talent.
I’ve heard this and it wouldn’t surprise me if this was the reason he fell in the draft. It was likely because of the picture he released with his teammates where he was absolutely jacked at the gym, like scary big. His combine numbers were also absolutely ridiculous besides the 3-cone, I don’t think he fell in the draft because he had a poor 3-cone time although that has become the narrative. -
There's no way they could allow the Titans to miss two straight weeks right? They really should either have to field a team or forfeit.

Who said that? I missed it.
Someone said that Allen was kind of the test case for the validity of old-fashioned eyeballs and shoe soles scouting over modern analytics. Some truth in that.
Cris Collinsworth who as an owner of PFF has "bought into" their stuff thus was down on Allen, said that he never understood why the Bills liked Allen until he met him in person before the Steelers game and saw how he lit up the room and the energy he had. Then you could tell his firm conviction that the Bills were nuts was actually shaken. Not gone, but moved to a pile labeled "further review required".
I believe it was Daniel Jeremiah who said it. Mayock was also infatuated with Allen, this was before he was Oakland's GM.

Best line ever from his pro day video:
”When you see him live, it is like scouting narcotics.”
It’s not hard to see that at the combine and pro day that he has some ridiculous talent. Anyone that really hated on him was just looking at the numbers which were not great in college. Props to the Bills for swinging for the fences and nailing the pick.

Something changed at PFF. They realized the Bills are about to be a good team for a while and that they have fully alienated the fanbase and appear to be trying to walk back years of BS by kissing some butt and articles like Fairburn's coming out to say they aren't hating on us intentionally. Bridge burned. Their grading system is trash.
They hired Ian Hartitz this summer and he absolutely loves Josh Allen, so maybe he's putting in a good word. He's a good follow on Twitter for fantasy football info.
We all know their grading system is completely bogus though, it makes absolutely zero sense.

Kind of a joke. I just don’t have too much confidence in Bass.I like to think this team knows what they are doing. If they felt Bass was the best choice, I'm sure he will be solid. He nailed every extra point this past weekend, even Butker missed one last night.

Not surprised that he is seeing some regression in his passing stats. Last year, his receivers were always WIDE OPEN and he made a lot of easy throws, absolutely no defenders in sight because defenses were selling out to stop the run.
Not sure why Kyler Murray was mentioned, he looks like a solid QB all around.

Here is some All-22 film showing the McKenzie catch and Diggs TD.. quite blurry. No Knox catch and fumble though.

Chargers should have gone for it on 4th down in OT, would have been 100% the right call. Chargers had been moving the ball on KC all day and the analytics/win probability would support going for it.
Have to mention though that the Ingram Offside penalty was a huge factor though on KC's winning OT drive. It gave the Chiefs a new lease of life, they would have had to punt otherwise.
How does an NFL coach not go for it there on 4th and 1? Take a chance man! Completely idiotic. Pretty obvious that KC was going to march down the field and all they needed was a field goal too, not to mention the Chargers defense looked absolutely gassed in OT.
Gives me confidence that we will crush the Chargers in week 12.

The over/under for CEH was 72.5 scrimmage yards, I made some easy money betting the over there. -
Jets seem to be hurting to start the year. I think Mims is going to be a solid player so this is good news for the Bills.

Great to see Sweeney back, has he done any work at all though? I didn’t think he was even running yet.
-
So does this mean Gilliam is a lock to make the team? And does it matter in any way that he is listed as a TE instead of a FB?
-
Can we expect TJ Yeldon to get cut? We spend a lot on a guy who the coaching staff refuses to play and never sees the field. Would love to go for AP or Dare as an upgrade to RB3.

how is Nathan Peterman getting paid a million dollars? i felt bad for the guy whenever he got on the field but then realize he is getting paid for practicing football.

I'm losing track of all the injuries, luckily they have mostly been minor ones so far.

You think Nick Mullins at 6 is fair?
5 hours ago, GunnerBill said:I think it is a little high maybe but he is top 10/12.
Mullins was very solid when called upon in 2018. Teams tried to trade for him but San Fran will not deal him.- 1

20-32 are all interchangeable, those are some bad QBs at the bottom. I hope we never see Barkley on the field except for blowouts where he finishes the game, he is not good.

He's a huge Pats fan and just the worst guy in general. I can't imagine the Bills want anything to do with Barstool, not sure their values match with that of the Bills.

Bass was only 20 of 28 (71.4%) last season, with a long of 49.
Yeah the numbers weren’t great last year in college but it seems like most of the solid NFL kickers didn’t have great stats in college. He hit 90.5% of his kicks the year before though. -

He's got a future as a KO specialist, at least. But Vedvik can boot them deep into the endzone so unless the FG kicking competition is close, I can't see them keeping him on the roster just to KO. Hopefully he's at least as good as Hauschka.
I have a hard time seeing how Hauschka can be better than Bass. Obviously Hauschka has the experience edge but it’s not like he is very accurate and has no distance left at all. I just think it would be a big mistake to stick with Hauschka, it’s a huge disadvantage when we can’t even attempt field goals over 50 yards. -

There's been a big difference lately from combine 40 times to proday 40s, combine usually being slower
Moss supposedly tweaked his hammy at the combine so the 4.65 isn’t indicative of his actual speed. And the 4.52 is probably way too generous. Nothing wrong with 4.6 speed at RB though, lots of good guys out there who are a lot faster on the field the on the track.- 1

I think it’s great that the Bills staff trust the tape and don’t care about the combine, same goes for Epenesa.

He’ll never be a top 5 QB in the league which is fine, I don’t see why he can’t be top 10 though.

Wish the Bills would have brought in Luke Willson for a visit, dude could probably offer some good Seahawks intel.
