The 5 linemen set on line cannot take a ball or advance it in case of fumble or reflection.
Dang, this negates my sneaky 4th and inches play where the QB takes the snap from the center, then gives the ball right back to the center to move the ball forward a few inches. 🥴

I've often wondered: Can only "eligible receivers" take a handoff, or can it be handed off to, say, a pulling guard as well?

I wonder how income taxes are handled when NFL teams play abroad?
Jacksonville plays in Florida, which has no income tax. Do they have to pay anything to the UK?
Also, do the Bills' players and staff pay NY income tax, since it is a "home" game?
Things that make me go "hmmm"... 🤔

Why don’t you talk about how unlucky he was to lose to the Giants via the helmet catch?
That was certainly a lucky win for the Giants, no doubt about it.

You could claim that for both of Mahomes wins, all of the Manning Super Bowl wins, etc.
Maybe I just will do that. Thanks! 😀

The hardware argument always bothers me because football is a team sport. Brady didn't win his rings alone.
I am also always amazed at how "lucky" NE was during many of their Super Bowls.
- Seattle throwing a pick at the goal line instead of running Beast Mode
- Atlanta's historic collapse
- last second field goal win vs the Rams
- last second field goal to beat the Panthers
I believe you make your own luck, but how would people feel about Brady if he had lost more Super Bowls than he won?

It's Brady, I hate to say it. Maybe it was because of advances in sports medicine/nutrition and it helped him extend his prime. Can't fault him for that.
I think what helped Brady was his ability to avoid taking big hits, prolonging his career and avoiding injuries like Josh had last season that hurt his season. He had a very quick release, played a short passing game, and threw the ball away when needed to avoid a hit. This was all part of what made him great. He also won with a lot of pedestrian receivers.

I think Brady saw this coming and wanted out before it did. Then he chose a team with all the right components to win another championship. This does not demean his accomplishments in any way. He was just smart about where he played.

Defensive players are paranoid and conspiracy mongers.
You can't win either way.
That's why McBeane always goes after special teamers. They are just happy to be there!

I’m not sure of that answer but the return would be so low, why do it?Just let him walk. It sucks because we all love the guy but Beane has allocated too many resources to the defense and the offense is in dire need of some attention.
He is coming off an all pro season. And I'm pretty sure someone will pay him big money, so why wouldn't they trade for him? Maybe for an O-lineman? Gotta be a better return than a potential comp pick, no?
-
Is it possible to tag someone and then trade them?

Well, this list is only the top 10 list for Buffalo Bills players, right? There are only 11 starters on defense, so this list has a huge curve. Somebody HAS to be #5 and someone HAS to be #10. This list doesn't compare them to other defensive players in the NFL. Our #6 best defensive player may be #95 in the NFL.
Although how they don't have Milano as #2 is beyond me.....

PSA: Learn CPR. Don't expect it to be like the movies. You may break ribs. The person may throw up, and you have to roll them to the side and wipe out their mouth and keep going. But I'll take 20% or 30% over 10%.
Even if you don't know CPR or aren't "certified", you can still do the patient a lot of good by doing "hands only" CPR. Push hard and push fast on the middle of the chest. CPR usually doesn't restore a heart beat by itself. You are just buying the person time until the AED or more definitve care arrives by pushing blood throughout the body, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the body's cells.

I am Dave. ("Hi Dave.") I've been a recovering Bills fan for all of my 59 (almost 60) years. My last Bills game attended was 17 days ago....
I retired as a National Park Ranger in 2016, then worked as an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for a hospital in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. My wife and I retired (again) in 2020 and started a 10-month trip around the world. A trip that was cut short after 78 days due to the global pandemic that I had written a plan for while working as a hospital Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. 🙄 We only made it to 3 of the 20 countries we had planned.
We honeymooned in Italy and are planning to return for our 20th anniversary in 2025. Among other areas in Italy, we want to get up to Milan and the Italian Alps. We read the book, "Beneath a Scarlet Sky", which is now one of our favortite books. We are so intrigued to hike in the mountains where Pino Lella guided Jews escaping into Switzerland. The book was so well written, we can envision exactly what it looks like.
Giulio, are you familiar with this book? Do you know where Pino and his brother were sent to escape the Allied bombing? When we get there, maybe we can meet up.

I have been certified in CPR since the early 1980's. I have been a CPR Instructor since 1989.
I am 0 for 6 in doing CPR in the field.
For Kim's daughter to be successful in performing CPR on her Mom.....I am in awe! What a pair of kids Kim and Terry have raised.

This post insinuates that the players knew about her exact condition....I highly doubt it.
The players, coaches and staff certainly knew that she had suffered some type of health emergency. Sometimes not knowing the exact type of emergency makes it more difficult because speculation runs rampant absent definitive information.

Beane's MO has been to lug holes with free agents so that the draft can be BPA.
With our lack of cap space, I'm not sure he can do that this year. What can Beane do to create cap space that he hasn't already done (and that make sense)?
Or are we soley reliant on filling our holes via the draft?

Good write-up as usual, Shaw.
I think the difference in how we are all feeling is that the last game of the 2021 season against the Chiefs was such a great game and we could have (should have) won. People then make the leap that we would have beaten the Bengals in the AFCCG and then beaten the Rams in the SB. Those are big leaps, not because the Bills weren't a great team playing very well, but because winning each playoff game is distinctly difficult. But, that tough loss gave us all a lot of hope for the future. The national media bought into it as well. It wasn't unreasonable hope, especially after signing Von Miller.
The last game of the 2022 season ended with a drubbing of out team. This does not lead to great hopes for the next year, especially after the high hopes for this year.
I still have high hopes that we can rebound and improve enough in the areas where we were not strong so that the 2023 season is just as much fun as the early 2022 season was.
Go Bills!

Sirianni's mother was my niece's kindergarten teacher in Jamestown. I guess that's as good a reason to root for the Eagles as any!

It won’t be pats or jags since they will be playing international as well. If they do non div game down to the top 3 on the list
Home
Las Vegas Raiders
Dallas Cowboys
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Denver Broncos - last yr
New York Giants - last yr
Jacksonville Jaguars - doubt
Miami Dolphins - div
New England Patriots - doubt
New York Jets - div
This sounds reasonable. I doubt they would play divisonal opponents against each other in a neutral site, although I do like the sounds of "Squish the Fish and Chips!"

Even hockey players don't want to play in Jersey!
