The mentality of the 'fire McDermott' crowd is beyond stupid.

I guess if a team doesn't win the Superbowl within 5 years or so, the head coach should be dismissed. Brilliant. Of course, there's never any real solution offered by those voices. Just "fire the coach".

The NFL landscape is littered with fired coaches who were sure-fire candidates from the coordinator ranks.

Who's your answer? What can't miss coach is coming to Buffalo? Are you such a gambler that you'll put all your chips on a coordinator with no track record over the guy who's led his team into the playoff in 6 out of 7 seasons? Maybe you'd prefer a retread like Belichick or Carroll. No thanks.

Personally, I wouldn't make that bet. The better odds are that we'd be right back to the good old days of wishing we made the playoffs.

Compare the past 7 years of Bills football to the previous 17.  At least we've had a chance! We've had a very entertaining team we can be proud of.

The Bills under McDermott have fielded a competitive squad every year under his guidance. They've developed mid-round players into valuable contributors. Free agents want to come to Buffalo. He has the respect of those who play under him. We have a team that should be competitive every year.

I'm grateful that the revolving door of Jauron, Mularkey, Williams, Ryan, etc. is a distant memory.

Be thankful that we have someone a classy as McDermott leading our Bills today and for the foreseeable future.

You may not realize it yet, but these are the good old days

There are some who believe that 31 coaches a year should be fired.  If you don't win the championship, you're out.

I understand people who have this way of thinking.

You're saying you would have preferred the drama, the atmosphere, the "cinema" of a win-and-in, lose-and-out game.

I get that, but that ain't me.

For me, it's simple: To win the Super Bowl, you have to get into the playoffs. Any way, shape, or form that that happens for the Bills -- pretty, ugly, definitive, barely, backing in, clinching in week 12 -- I don't care. All I care is that they're in. That being the case, I'm thrilled that they have a spot clinched. No amount of of drama, atmosphere, or cinematic tension was worth the potential of not even making it to the second season. Not when we have Joshua Patrick Allen under center.

And as I said earlier, I think the stakes are huge. The Bills' path to the Super Bowl looks A LOT easier as the 2-seed than the 6-seed. Getting the Steelers at home and then seeing the Phins have to travel to Arrowhead -- thus ensuring that one of them will be eliminated before we'd even see them -- would be amazing.

But first thing's first: Hold the line. Win the East. Squish the Fish. Go Bills.

I agree with a lot of this.

For me, either way has stress.  But one way was negative stress ("If we don't win, we are out!").  The other way has positive stress ("Let's kick their butts and take the division championship!")  I prefer the positive stress.

     technically the NFL is entertainment,

That is true for the fans.  However, I can't for one minute imagine that the players, who get paid millions of dollars based on their performance (as well as the performance of their team, e.g winning Super Bowls), would be okay with losing a rigged game.  Not one single player of the thousands who have played the game have complained of this?  They cry over a few thousand dollars in their contracts because "they have to feed their families."  Certainly they would sue everyone and anyone who cost them some money.

I don't buy it.  Maybe I am naive, but I don't buy it for a minute.

Just walk into any bar with your hat and jersey and declare it a BB bar.  Once they learn where you’re from, you’ll be all set.

At this point in world affairs, we are not keen on announcing where we are from.  Trying to keep a low profile and not draw any attention to ourselves.  🫥

To be honest I don't think media has had integrity for longer than just years I'd go so far as decades.

Pro-John Adams newspapers and pro-Thomas Jefferson newspapers used to print lies about each other all the time when they were running for President.  Dishonest media has been around longer than just for decades.  Probably since  media started.  Humans haven't evolved all that much in some ways.....

Not gonna lie, I am curious to see what Aaron Rodgers has left in the tank.  He is a future Hall of Famer, and yes he is old, but that is still not someone to taken lightly.

He'll be tough competition for the team on Monday, as would anyone of his stature.  Go Bills, but for that matter, go all of us.

In a way, each of us has an Aaron Rodgers to face. For some, shyness might be their Aaron Rodgers. For others, a lack of education might be their Aaron Rodgers. For us, Aaron Rodgers is a four time NFL MVP who wants to bash the Bills secondary's heads in. But, as sure as my name is Dollars 2 Donuts, the Buffalo Bills can conquer their own personal Aaron Rodgers, who also happens to be *the actual* Aaron Rodgers!

    Go Bills!

So, your Philosophy 101 class is going well?  😉  I like your analogy.

I know this is all meant to be good fun and I don't want to sound like some grumpy old man but it just stops me wanting to see any of these shows because there's no objectivity there. Even Brandt screaming and shouting about the Bills is annoying. But as people have said, that's the way to get ratings so you can't blame them I guess

This makes me wonder.  It seems like most of the folks on this board don't like these types of drama sports personalities, yet they (supposedly) do this to get high ratings.  So the question is, who watches these shows to give them such high ratings?  Is it like Yogi Berra's saying, "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."  People do watch, but not real sports fans?

I applaud his renewed commitment to his weight issue.    But what about strength training?  This diet doesn't seem like it has enough of the right calories to build, or even maintain, muscle.
