Because it's a great investment and gets your foot in the door to gain controlling interest of a team in the future?

Yes, indeed.  Getting 25% of the annual profits, plus 25% of the sale of the team in the future is a great investment.   I'd do it, but my wife has other ideas for our retirement funds....

So he's gone due to performance, and all the sideline/off field/twitter stuff you mentioned really didnt matter? Which is it?

He fought for yards PLENTY of times. Any time it mattered. Close to getting a 1st down, or fighting through 5 tackles to break away for a TD like against Miami last year.

When you already have the 1st down and a Safety is bearing down on you, better to get down, control the contact, and live to fight another day.

I agree that he made some amazing plays and that the Bills were better with him for 4 years.  I just don't consider him a "fierce competitor" based on his giving up on certain plays, even if the first down was already made.  I'm glad we had him for those years, but I'm not crying that he's gone now.  He just frustrated me at times.

Was a fierce competitor for sure.

He wanted to win, no doubt about that. But I won't miss the way he dove to the ground or ran out of bounds, leaving valuable yardage on the table, just to avoid a hit. I understand wanting to make your career last, but I expect a fierce competitor to fight for yards.

There’s at least a 7k person waiting list as we speak.

Is this true?  For the 2022 season, my wife and I decided to get season tickets for the Bills.  We called, and - boom - we had season tickets.  Granted, they were somewhere above where the angels fear to fly, but they weren't bad seats.

A lot of people have asked me if it was hard to get season tickets.  They were not.

And putting film out there of him sandbagging it and making an awful decision?

Say someone works on high tension electrical wires. They have a supervisor who is responsible for the safety of the worker in terms of ensuring the proper systems and protocols are in place and followed to make that very dangerous job as safe as possible.

Now let's say that supervisor has time and time again made it obvious to the technician they cannot be trusted to do that...if the technician refuses to go up, are they being a petulant child?

Help me here...am I the apples or am I the oranges?

The mentality of the 'fire McDermott' crowd is beyond stupid.

I guess if a team doesn't win the Superbowl within 5 years or so, the head coach should be dismissed. Brilliant. Of course, there's never any real solution offered by those voices. Just "fire the coach".

The NFL landscape is littered with fired coaches who were sure-fire candidates from the coordinator ranks.

Who's your answer? What can't miss coach is coming to Buffalo? Are you such a gambler that you'll put all your chips on a coordinator with no track record over the guy who's led his team into the playoff in 6 out of 7 seasons? Maybe you'd prefer a retread like Belichick or Carroll. No thanks.

Personally, I wouldn't make that bet. The better odds are that we'd be right back to the good old days of wishing we made the playoffs.

Compare the past 7 years of Bills football to the previous 17.  At least we've had a chance! We've had a very entertaining team we can be proud of.

The Bills under McDermott have fielded a competitive squad every year under his guidance. They've developed mid-round players into valuable contributors. Free agents want to come to Buffalo. He has the respect of those who play under him. We have a team that should be competitive every year.

I'm grateful that the revolving door of Jauron, Mularkey, Williams, Ryan, etc. is a distant memory.

Be thankful that we have someone a classy as McDermott leading our Bills today and for the foreseeable future.

You may not realize it yet, but these are the good old days

There are some who believe that 31 coaches a year should be fired.  If you don't win the championship, you're out.
