Ok, we are in the trust tree here.  Do you really think the stat passes defended is the appropriate metric for understanding what role Edmunds plays in our pass coverage? Like, if you really believe that, its just a matter of learning about how pass defense works in the NFL. You don't have to continue not knowing how this works. But you have to first admit that you don't quite understand. Maybe you're a novice; maybe your an offense guy. That's all fine. But you have to ask first.

Ask you - - wow.  You have a belief in your mind and it won't change.  Edmunds has become a big liability playing MLB in our defense.

THAT comment. That comment right there. That is how I know you have no idea what you are talking about.

90% of what makes him so effective is he deters passes over and through him. He makes throwing over the middle of the field so much more difficult.

This is the equivalent of saying a CB is a good defender because he has a lot of tackles--it just completely misunderstands their role in the defense.

I think you have more belief in Edmunds than his stats justify.  Per ESPN Stats Edmunds in 2 games he has ZERO passes defended.  Even Levi has 3.

Lol. You really just have no idea what you are talking about.

Edmunds was very bad defending the run.  He was solid the overwhelming majority of the game in pass protection. The only time he looked bad in pass protection was when he was chasing Woods or Kupp, which of course is an impossible assignment for almost anyone, much less a linebacker. Getting guys in that position, however, is what makes McVay so good.

Fans, for whatever reason, think that if a player was bad in one distinct area of responsibility, they were bad in all areas. This is obviously not how that works.

Did you see Edmunds defend a single pass Sunday?

  4. You can tailgate and watch the game on large video screens in Vegas - -for $400.00. Would this fly in Buffalo???

The Raiders sent an email to season ticket holders late Tuesday advertising the Tailgate Zone at Allegiant Stadium, where fans in vehicles with five or fewer occupants can park in a stadium lot and watch the team’s game Sunday.

Fans will watch the action on a large LED screen and a stage will be constructed where Raiders special appearances and performances are planned.

Options range from $400 for the Tailgate Ticket package to $500 for the VIP package, with both including food and beverage. Fans are also allowed to bring additional food and beverages from home, including alcohol, which isn’t served at the event.  (Per Fox News)

In my opinion, off topic post/responses and abusive behavior is what I would treat the harshest. I'm not as bothered by a lot of the other stuff listed but that's just me.

I think sometimes you really have to just look at things on a case to case basis and factor in a persons history of behavior.

I can only say that I think moderation is already good.

The moderation is good!  I love this board.

Wondering minds want to know.  We have a bigger problem with stopping the run up the gut as the Rams O Line pushed our D Line around.  Sal was right on his point after show that we have athletic and fast D Linemen, but we sacrifice the huge size of the O Lineman of the Rams.  I was talking to the Movin the Chains guys about this today, and they said the Rams have been doing this all three games.

They did mention the same push the Raiders have had, but all in all they were positive about the Bills for this week.  They did mention they thought Edmunds cant keep getting out of position although he was out of game 2 so maybe a little rusty.

    Im hopeful on Norman.

I hope he comes through for the Bills.  He is the ONLY one of the defensive F/A's we picked up this off-season who made 1st Team All pro or a Pro Bowl.

If the RB is consistently getting tackled in the secondary, then the D-line is failing to stop the run. The Rams O-line owned our D-line on run plays. Henderson had massive holes to run through all day long.

I also think the reliance on nickel defense has a lot to do with our lack of depth at LB. Klein was sold as a "run stuffer," but has that been the case so far?

Klein is a $6 mil bust

So true!  He went after the refs a few years ago about the lack of holding calls and ever since has been persona non grata by the NFL

The NFL has placed umpire Roy Ellison on administrative leave after Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes accused Ellison of directing derogatory language toward him during Buffalo's loss on Sunday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports. Ellison, a veteran umpire of 16 seasons, was previously suspended one game without pay for making derogatory statements toward Redskinsoffensive lineman Trent Williams in 2013.

Hughes confronted Ellison and other referees in the Hard Rock Stadium tunnel regarding holding calls following Sunday's game in Miami

I don’t want to knock him I just never notice him anymore. He used to scream around the edge and the only time I see him now he’s bullrushing right into the tackles. I like jerry and he’s probably the unluckiest player in the league because the NFL refs hate his ever living guts. Of all the football I’ve watched the last 5-6 years I have never seen someone held as much as Hughes and almost never get the call

Say it with me..."We don't have to tear down Lamar, to prop Josh up".

Lamar is a phenomenal player and deserves his place at the "elite of the elite" table. Josh is well on his way to earning a seat. Both of these things can exist simultaneously.

Frankly, I find this take to be garbage. "The end of an era" because the MVP had one bad game?  Get outta here...

Shaw - you come for the king, you better not miss.

Agreed about the post in general.

I usually hate the idea of having an older vet around to steal playing time from a younger athlete. But veteran leadership might go a long way in helping this defense right now. Especially at LB. The defense visibly lacks intensity.

So true.  All the F/A pick-ups along the DL and at LB were never even Pro-Bowl 'second tier' selections and have shown no leadership.

This I agree with, they fought back.

Im sure the Rams felt them same about their defense the same way we felt about ours.

They gave up 28 early and did nothing offensively early. They know they are better than that.

These are the types of games we will be seeing this year. We have a really tough schedule and the games are going to back and forth.

This was the extreme though in terms of losing a lead.

Also, the RAMS had some opportunities in the 1st half but they stopped themselves on offense and missed a field goal too!

Yes. Yeldon was better than Gore and he is better than Moss. Devin had 4.8 YPC compared to 2.8 YPC behind the same line.  And before you say anything about fumbles, Yeldon has a 0.009 fumble rate compared to Gore 0.011 and Singletary 0.019. Yeldon should be playing. Let Moss watch for a few more weeks at least.

Get him in the games and let Moss learn the NFL game

  14. -Devin had 71 yards rushing on 13 carries for a 5.5  average.  AND - 4 receptions for 12.5 yd.average totaling 50 yards

-Andre returned just 2 kick-offs but averaged 36.5 yards per return

-Corey had 2 punts, both inside the 20 yard line, and averaged 58 yards per kick

Little things in the NFL get teams big wins.
