He's going to be better than Allen if not already!
I thought the same thing. A great quick release with accurate passes.
4 hours ago, Putin said:Well he did play at LSU with real coaching against some BIG time opponents while Allen was basically still basically playing high school football till he got here .
So obviously Burrow should be ahead of Allen in their rookie year , lets not forget Allen wasn’t even supposed to start his rookie year,As of today I wouldn’t trade Allen for ANYBODY love everything about the kid !!
GO Bills !!!Homer!

OMG, guys this is Jets 2020. Do you not see he keeps citing Bills veiled negative threads to get you guys going? He’s just trying to rile all of you up. Have a great weekend Jets 2020, as you’re team sucks terribly, and you are in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes as you are that bad and you’re coach amongst the 50 other coaches will he fired by the end of the year. Guys, if you want to respond ok, but just know this is a Jets fan trying to incite you. He cares nothing. About the Bills.
Are you feeling OK? The Poster (me) is a long, long time Bills fan. I just felt Yeldon should get on the field more to help Josh. That's all.
-
Yeldon has the best 40 yard speed of all the Bills RB's. He CAN get to the outside.
He makes $1.9 mil which is more than Singletary & Moss combined.
Why is he a consistent bench warmer and not even dress for games (except the Houston Play-Off game) ?

I love the read option. When you don’t have backs that can get to the edge you have to use Josh to do that. He is an elite runner. Josh’s legs make the offense so much more dynamic. He just needs to protect the football.
I bet Yeldon can get to the edge.

The screen game might be the takeaway from game 1 that gives me the most optimism for this season. It is a huge addition to our offense.
I noticed it working too. Keep improving it.

The concept is good, but think he may be seeing things that aren't really there and yanking it back too many times.
It seemed he wanted to yank it back and eventually the Jets saw that too.

I’m happy that we’re implementing it. It’s just another thing the opposing defenses have to account for and can open up our offense even more.
I’ll be happier about it when JA gets a friggin clue on how to read it.

Daryl Williams was very good on second viewing.

Josh has the skills to run on any play effectively. He's especially good avoiding the pass rush and escaping for a run.
With the read-option Josh reads the initial path of the edge defender (DE or OLB) and the OL zone blocks regardless of the defensive alignment. Then he decides to pull the ball from the running back or run himself based on his read.
Was this a special game plan for the Jets? Is it based on some doubts about the OL and running the ball?
With 4 very good receivers, a strong TE option and 2 young RB's. I hate to see Josh taking hits as a RB. Keep him in the pocket.
Comments please.

Oliver wreaked havoc vs. the Jest OL yesterday. The OP either didn’t watch the Bills game or doesn’t know who and what he’s seeing.
I re-watched the game today and Oliver played a very solid game.

Zimmers play was very encouraging, had high hopes for him when he was here before with his athletic traits, be a great bonus if he was able to put it together and a cheap one.
You couldn't help but notice him when he was in the game. Hope he continues to improve.

-AJ Klein and Taron Johnson led the Bill with total tackles at 5 each
-Andre Roberts with a 31 yard KO return and a 13.8 average on Punt Rturns

You can make an argument that continuing the over-reliance on the read option also stunts Allen's development as a passer. This has to stop.
Thank you.

Everytime i see a run designed play for JA, it makes me think the franchise doesn't value JA as a franchise QB. He took some big hits today.
JA needs to stop taking hits on his scrambles. The designed runs need to stop. This kid could be our franchise QB.
I don't think they DON'T value him as a franchise QB. He has to stay in the pocket and make quick decisions.

Unless there’s an injury or a QB being groomed as a replacement, and player drafted in the top few rounds that’s inactive Week 1 is a concern.
I’ve read he didn’t show much in training camp and was seriously overmatched.
I’m not making any assumptions, but concern and disappointment is warranted.
Similar concern with Ed Oliver.

And that is why I just don't understand the lack of going after another game playing LB to fill this defense out with. Edmunds just get's absolutely owned at the point of attack on runs at him. He would be a devastating all time outside lb'r in this league, but he is overwhelmed at the run stopping point. They need a MLB and all our LB'ing woes go away IMO..
Edmunds has become more of a strong safety than a true MLB. Always way off the line of scrimmage and running all over the field. A great athlete but not strong enough to stop the run.

I just got it for 6 months at a $1 per. Who knows
The Athletic has never been profitable over their 4 years of existence. Bottom barrel rates aren't going to save that.
From USA today:
" the cost for salaries and benefits alone is about $32 million per year, and that doesn’t include “office, support, tech, sales, travel, and a zillion other costs of doing business.” The Athletic is not profitable, and that diminishes their value for future investors"

Great analogy. Daboll knows what he is doing but can the players execute?

Unfortunate. But this is nothing earth shattering. If he panned out he was basically the cherry on top of an already stacked defense. Wallace will be just fine.
Wallace is a VERY WEAK tackler. Watch the films from last year. Embarrassing.

Why I Love Watching Josh Allen play
in The Stadium Wall Archives
Posted · Edited by LB48
He's unpredictable. He's not boring. He is flawed.
He can make mistakes and then follow-up with great plays. Josh isn't perfect but that's part of his persona. A big man with great skills throwing or running the ball. Every play is a thrill for better or worse!
An NFL game can be pretty static or predictable. Josh changes that dynamic and I'm very happy to watch him as the Bills QB.
