When it comes to close calls, you win some you lose some.  Everyone remembers the ones that change game outcomes and make assumptions.  Let's not be a fanbase full of whiners.

You just made a case for the thread/video. If everyone seems to be remembering the ones that change outcomes, why do they always seem to be Chiefs games that people are remembering.  And there are a lot of other fanbases saying the same thing.

Chiefs will get two ball placements go their way in a crucial part of the game, but their defenders will point to a holding flag in the first quarter.

For the Chiefs, it always seems to be when these calls are made vs how the calls are made.

Yes. The 'when' is huge vs how, or even how many.  A lot of folks will point to the fact that there's a few missed calls every game. True. and they'll point to the fact that it's about the same for every team. Also, mostly true. But the calls at crucial parts of the game that goes the Chiefs way is the pendulum. And it's not always a call that wins/loses the game, but one that changes the trajectory of the game. That's still huge.

Bills have obviously gotten calls in their favor, but most of them are, 'ok....so what'?! Very little affect.

I had more fun when the Bills were horible.  Rob Riddick was Rob Ridiculous,  Kenny Jones was Kenny sure grip (always holding)

So I was never down on the team but it was exhausting.

Look at the board now, it was busier when the Bills were bad.

Never been disinterested.  And there was certainly something about those crappy years. There was always hope early in the season. Perhaps a little displaced hope, but hope.  It was just wanting to make the playoffs. The problem was, all hope was dashed, usually around late Nov, early Dec, sometimes earlier. At least when it all ended, we didn't come crashing down to earth like what happens now with all the expectations so high.

So now we've traded the merry-go-round of the drought years with the roller coaster of today.

A little short story about that Richard Reid shoe bomber thing, Paris to Miami flight.

I flew a trip with the the first officer who dealt with Reid once the passengers had him zip tied to the seat, which was much more difficult than expected.

He was talking to to Reid had the shoes in his hands and had no idea what the deal was so he brought them up to the cockpit.

So the three guys are sitting in their seats on the flight deck, and looking at them and one of them figures out it's a bomb when they note the wiring. Anyway, the captain shouts "Get those things out of here," which the the spare First Officer does.

He told me he couldn't believe how stupid he was to bring them up to the cockpit, but never gave it a second thought.

There's even more to the story after they landed in Boston and watched the police screw around until they finally figured out it was a bomb.

The 'green death' name was apparently first used by New Englanders to describe Heffenreffer beer, but the name was happily coopted by WNYers to describe Genesee's ale...and it's effect on drinkers.

During a few strikes in the seventies and eighties, Brewers Retail (now the Beer Store) closed, and LCBOs were allowed to import large amounts of cheap beer from the U.S.  In the Niagara Peninsula, we seemed to get a lot of Blatz beer, which my brother described as the beer named after the sounds made the following morning after drinking it.

Blatz beer!? Ha ha. I vaguely remember that. And I absolutely remember the Brewers Retail. We used to drive across the border just for the beer, but what a pain. The store had ridiculously short hours; 10am to 6pm, if I remember. Sucked if we were going to Sherkston Beach...we'd have to wait till 10 to get the beer we wanted.

  7. I'll take whatever ranking they want to give us. It's just a real treat to be talking about a top offensive line on a Bills team.

Wind it back about 10+ years when year after year, the Bills were consistently in the bottom half of the league and everyone was saying 'we need a better O-line'.

  8. Anyone wearing Golashes going through the airport should be arrested immediately. Especially if they're also wearing the yellow, Gorton fisherman raincoat.

And while I'm at it.....anyone wearing a Sabres jersey in the airport claiming they're traveling to a game, is lying, and should be arrested immediately.

I think referencing Genesee Cream Ale, aka 'the green death'.  Before Labatt became ubiquitous in WNY, Genesee was the frugal beer of choice.

Omg, I've never heard Genny Cream called 'the green death'. Hilarious, and appropriate.

I used to drink truckloads of Blue back in the day.  That aside, I have 2 questions:

Shouldn't the label have some reference to the stadium? I don't see any.

And.....anyone know if this will be available online?

  10. Looks like the Jets flipped the dysfunctional booger on the Dolphins

"The Sun-Sentinel reported that Miami was fed up with the veteran cornerback they traded to the Steelers last week after he became disruptive with the team and was hurting the culture the franchise was trying to build."

And I'm not sure what type of "culture" they're trying to build based recent history. Is it this first one, or the latter?

    culture

    1 of 2

    noun

    cul·ture ˈkəl-chər

    b

: the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization

a corporate culture focused on the bottom line

    3

: the act or process of cultivating living material (such as bacteria or viruses) in prepared nutrient media

also : a product of such cultivation

Not for a lack of drafting D in prior years though.  That calls into question our regime's ability to recognize talent

As co-Super Bowl favorites, I would argue it hasn’t been as shabby as some people will lead you to believe.

I think from a talent perspective, they've missed on getting some big-playmaker type guys. Instead, I think they've been focusing on the wrong style of players across the board; fast, but slightly undersized. Having some of those guys is okay, but it's led the team to the bend-but-don't break world.

I think what a lot of fans are looking for is a more stout front-7.  Shut down running games, and force long fields. Quit living in the red zone defensively!

And btw.....is this the official start of the hype-video season?
