  1. I guess we will find out this weekend. With Josh making a statement like that, they may just let him go out and rip it and let the chips fall where they may. Getting a green light like that can do a ton for your confidence.
  2. Me too. In the first quarter of the year, with every drop back, I was confident some kind of magic was going to happen. A big pass, a big run, a big 3rd down conversion, etc. While he did make mistakes, I simply shrugged them off as part of the learning process. Well 9 games in and a rough few weeks later, I'm starting to cringe at drop backs. Is he going to fumble? Over throw a target? Be able to pick up this first down? My confidence in him is shaken.
  3. A lot of hate here for people who buck the status quo. Revoke press passes? Punch him in the mouth? All because he's pointing out the obvious? He's your pick McDermott. At some point you are going to need to own up to his bad play and people want to hear more of an answer than its the process, or the mind growth set. McDermott consistently points to the short and intermediate passes as some kind proof Allen is improving. Check downs to pad stats isn't growth. Accurately and consistently delivering slants to give receivers YAC is growth. Improvement on ball placement is growth. Connecting with the deep ball once or twice a game to back off the defense is growth. Its clear this team doesn't really have an offensive identity. McDermott has made that clear. If we have to throw 100 times we will. If we have to run 100 times we will. Its clear the game plan against Cleveland was to expose them in the passing game. That was the game plan and McDermott was on board with it. Allen under delivered. What I hate is the smoke and mirrors. He had a bad game McDermott, admit it. He's not progressing the way you'd like him to McDermott, admit it. Unfortunately with the upcoming schedule looming on the horizon, and lack of progress from Allen, McDermott is going to come under a lot more fire from the media with each passing loss. The line of questioning isn't going to get any easier, especially after a 6-2 start and serious playoff aspirations dwindling. Its a matter of time before the national media begins to apply pressure on McDermott and Allen. Do we crash and burn with Allen or make a Qb switch to save a promising season with playoffs aspirations? That's going to be the national media narrative if we lose to Miami and Denver.
  4. I think it is. He's not a dumb kid, so i really don't believe he's all that confused out there. I just dont think he can consistently make accurate throws. In all honesty he reminds me a Fitz. Smart, big arm...inconsistent accuracy.
  5. It's not about his bad play for me, it is pretty definitive proof that guys are open and open quite often. I believe Daboll's scheme has very little to do with the offense not progressing. Allen just isn't making the plays. He has plenty of time in that video and guys he's throwing to are wide open, he just fails to connect with inaccurate passes.
  6. Denver and Jets, and that's asking for much at this point. We are going to lose in Miami this week. Going down into the heat against a team on a roll, looking for revenge in a game they should have won. I don't think we come out with a win there. Fitz will be ready. Denver will be at home and I believe we will have enough at home to win a sloppy game. Jets at home last game. Again, I believe we will have enough at home to beat them. I'm chalking up Cowboys, Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, and Dolphins all as losses.
  7. 9-7 looks like a pipe dream at this point. I'd be happy with 8-8. I feel a total collapse is about to happen. We are moving into the stronger part of the schedule and have shown no signs of growth on offense. With the defensive weakness' now fully exposed, it's going to be hard for them to really dominate like they did early on. I believe its lack of personnel on the defensive side, especially on the Dline. No real run stopper and no real pass rusher. Buffalo has been getting killed with the same screens and runs to the right side of the line. Wallace has been abused for several weeks now, and a clear weakness in the secondary. Offensively, there is no growth thus far. It's the same product week after week. It's actually regressed. Execution is the main problem, or should I say lack thereof. 8-8 looks about right, 9-7 if the stars align.
