  1. I honestly think there’s a fair chance the Ravens absolutely smoke us. And even if that happens, I’m still not sure if Beane would make a trade to fix things. I really hope the defense overachieves but I’m not exactly confident at the moment.
  2. Time to end it all I guess.
  3. I'm okay with that. The rules don't apply to the billionaire owners, who are in general garbage humans, so I fully support any player doing whatever he can to get his. We're all supposed to want a free market, right?
  4. Hey pretty sure there's a movie coming out soon along the lines of this!
  5. I mean, I'm pretty damn anti-corporate and think the NFL is a deeply problematic institution as much as I love the game. That said, it is absolutely an honor and a privilege to be able to play a child's game for millions upon millions of dollars. If a player isn't willing to go through a rudimentary interview process for the handful of teams that are actually interested in him, then what does that say about the player? What does that say about him being a real team player? What does that say about his abillity to tough out the tiny, little, annoying fragments of the grinding and brutal life of actually being an NFL player in the long run? That you, especially already one the son of a mega millionaire celebrity, have some holier than thou attitude and say that you're the exception? Obviously a team's front office won't like that, but if I was another player, I wouldn't be too thrilled with the guy either, especially since he has plenty of question marks and isn't undeniably some pre-destined Hall of Famer. Everyday Americans put in more effort to find a 9-5 job in this current market than what it sounds like what this kid did for teams leading up to the draft. He deserves no sympathy, and although I doubt the accuracy of this story, I'm glad it turned out the way it did and he wasn't rewarded for his behavior.
  6. This, combined with all the players sending him well wishes, does not bode well in my opinion.
  7. So who is available for a 4th and 5th rounder, maybe even a third? It's not like we're gonna draft well next year anyways so might as well go for it now!
  8. Nothing is ever easy is it.
  9. Yeah I wouldn't doubt it if he kicked it into an even higher gear playing for a team with a genuine chance at winning it all. Preferably us, of course.
  10. If this is accurate, he needs botox injections ASAP, or some other comparable treatment. It’s stuff like this with this team that sometimes it just does not feel like everyone is willing to put it all on the line to win. Yeah, his position maybe kinda needs to be able to plant and break, ya think? This all sounds kind of ridiculous but like, based on the comments it sounds truly over the top. Might as well be wearing shoes without traction or whatever. Damn, something about this really annoys me lol I need to take a walk. Let me put on some fresh socks first….
  11. Incredible thread. Growing up in Georgia, this was definitely a thing. I remember getting so much ***** being in elementary school during the Super Bowl years. And yeah, it seemed like everyone was a Cowboys fan.
  12. Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about this, in several ways. I mostly wonder what him being on the team would do to Josh, even on a subconscious level. Even if he isn't consciously thinking it in the moment, the psyche and the body will both remember the critical Gabe Davis drops.
  13. Good lord I wish they would trade for somebody instead of scraping the literal bottom of the barrel and hoping that it ends up being good enough.
  14. We could always give them a player who would have a negative impact!
  15. Personally I'm not even sure if I'm in the "he's a solid backup player" like so many people seem to be saying. Can he play the position if a starter gets hurt? Uh, technically I guess? Will I have any faith whatsoever in his performance in place of whoever the starter was? Absolutely not.
  16. Usually I’m strongly against AI but I fully support using it this year when deciding when to throw the challenge flag instead of letting McD do it.
  17. Yeah, but then imagine what that group would have done with a true number 1. It'd be stupid how good the offense would be. It kinda irks me that the front office hasn't done something to put us over the top, but I am hoping that they do indeed do something in that regard before the trade deadline this year, be it a WR or defense.
  18. I think we could offer what they are hoping to get, but I don't think they would do it for us. Pretty sure they'd be willing to take just slightly less to get him out of the conference if they do indeed truly have to let him go.
  19. There’s a part of me that worries that is indeed how it ends up playing out. I have the same thought about our WR group to a lesser extent, and at least Allen compensates for that. Not so much for the D. So the fear is that it works and is semi impressive until one game, deep in the playoffs, it isn’t. I hope of course this year is different and the team and our GM are willing to do try everything they can instead of relying on hope and vibes. Hope is for the fans. Results are for the professionals.
  20. I kind of agree with this to an extent, but time will tell. If we get to the midway point of the season and the defense is leaving anything to be desired, I’d like to see us swing for the fences with some kind of a high profile trade. Whether it’s for an edge, or some part of the secondary, I’m not sure. We still have too many instances of barely squeaking by and certain players in certain positions being just serviceable until they suddenly aren’t. We have a solid D but I don’t think they are particularly threatening or genuinely have a killer instinct. Perhaps they will show this come the start of the season. It’s why I’m okay with us giving up first round picks and then some to grab a player like Parsons. I don’t want this team to hopefully maybe just be good enough. I want them to be intimidating and destructive. And I don’t want them, and us, to look back at the end of another potentially disappointing season wondering “What if?”
  21. Hopefully we’ll get to see them cut Hamlin.
  22. Exclusively for the Week 18 game took away basically all my excitement. It's cool it's happening at all, but damn, that sucks.
