You seem confused about a few things. To the first part of your post — are you suggesting policing is already working fine as it is, then? What is your point exactly with this information? To the quoted part — I love that this is how you guys define everything. You have to have binary. Dunno how many times I've said this. Racism isn't exclusive to Republicans! They definitely love racism more aggressively than Democrats, but that does not mean Democrats are not also racist. This is a much larger problem than small minds can handle, and since the problem can't be shrunk, you're going to have to work harder on expanding your mind.

I haven't, but if that's the app you want to use, that's fine by me. I don't know about it because I haven't used that one and I don't know everything. It's weird but you actually are allowed to not know everything. This board for some reason seems to be very frightened of the concept that they don't already know everything. Minnesota isn't eliminating the rule of law. The idea is that the emergency services supplied by the police can & will be replaced with more effective methods. You are right that community policing is a lot of work and a lot of effort, but as you also note, it is very overdue. Based on those principles, you should be enthusiastically in favor of what Minnesota is doing. Right?

This thread isn't about a text discussion. This is about making a video that shows the faces behind some of these posts. We've seen a lot of the protestor faces. We've seen cop faces. We haven't seen so many faces from the people "counter-protesting" online. I think we can put together a nice little video clip that shows what the opposition to the protests looks like. You have plenty of posts. Why don't you choose 5 of your best points, and then read them to me in a Zoom call? Whenever you have free time off of work. Yes, Bernie would've been the better candidate, no doubt, and he wasn't given a fair shake in either primary. That's a separate issue. But I will say that Bernie would not have been much better leading this moment (better, yes; much better, no). His handling of race was never his strongest suit, and his inability to successfully persuade Black America sank the nomination as much as DNC/corporate interference. This is something that goes beyond any one presidential term. Ferguson was under Obama, and his response to that also sucked. That doesn't excuse Trump for being worse, just that he's not the only source of the problem.

My offer has been moved to a PPP thread. I just want to see all the folks confident in their beliefs about racism say it out loud, so we can hear them Loud and Proud. It's easy to type "racism is most difficult for the white man" or whatever, but it's quite different to say and hear it.
