I think the one Watt attempted on Josh that just barely missed was even more "vicious."  A direct hit on the ball with that punch move is going to dislodge it the majority of the time.

Watt had a huge windup with enough power to disembowel a lesser man. Good thing he missed.

When you're known to fumble you invite these strip tactics by the defense.  It's one reason why I like Gore and his ball security.

The value on WR is better in Rd 2. Now we will be drafting later in the first so maybe that’s the range where we might swing but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Beane go Edge Rd 1 and trade up Rd 2 and get his WR.  That’s just based off tendency and this regime loves Defense on cost controlled contracts

If Beane continues to bundle picks to trade up and get non-QBs I'll be disappointed.

It'skid of a blessing the Bills O got handed a blitzing lesson by the Ravens. While handling the blitz will not be perfect come Sunday, overall they should be way better prepared with what happened last Sunday. Though many teams have blitzed heavily of late.

Agree.  Quite a beating he took. Hoping Daboll has an adjustment ready should Pitt start to rattle Allen.

Which is crazy cuz Maryland is beautiful.

Some sketchy places. Don’t go for crab cakes after 9pm on the wrong side of tracks.

Maryland is a smaller state, but varied. Southern MD, Coastal Md, and Western Maryland (to include the mountainous coal country) all differ significantly from Baltimore. Western MD just as likely to be Steelers fans.

Apparently they only do the top 20 receivers but here they are.

Part of the problem with these stats are RB passes are usually always "RAC yards" and very little air yards but even still based on Ekeler/Rivers numbers the rac is 625 RAC/3046 passing yards.

Ekeler has 667 receiving yards on the year so only 42 of those yards are air yards (assuming I'm mathing right).

Beasley is our YAC guy then.

The throw to McKenzie on 2nd and 5 in the third quarter is why this narrative is dumb. Allen puts the ball right on him in stride and he stumbles because he's trying to secure the catch and gets tackled...because he's not as talented as other true wideouts who would turn that into 50+ receiving yards for the QB. For what Allen's been working weapons-wise with his statistics are fine which should have been apparent from the beginning when you look at the offensive side of the ball.

To this point I wonder what % of passing yards are air yards vs RAC yards for NFL QBs.  QB accuracy enables RAC but so does the receiver's skill.

No one should ever trade up, unless you going to get a blue chip franchise QB at the top of the draft.

    That's my rule at least.

McBeane love to trade up all the time and have been burned by it.

    Agree.

One counterpoint is that some will say that with 9 draft picks you're not going to be able to sign them all or there are not enough open spots on the team.  However, that assumes a GM is skilled to the point that they know all of their picks are NFL material - which is never the case.  Nobody hits 100%.

Beane has shown he would rather draft one player in the 2nd round rather than 2 players from the 3rd and 5th round respectively (made up example).  Most times, I'd rather have a couple more draftees available to fight it out in camp and show they belong rather than assume I'm definitely going to hit on one player I bundled picks to get.

    QB is the exception.
