Not a bad thought, although if he is 100% by Sunday, I think he starts the game.  He has not gotten a lot of reps, so if he's going to be the starting left guard in the playoffs, he needs to get more reps and continue to develop chemistry with the rest of the line.  Also, as someone astutely pointed out above, the Bills may want to see what they have in Bates if they are considering moving on from Feliciano after the season to save on cap and/or because Feliciano's performance has declined (despite him being a good dude).

If he's 95% or so I'd agree to play him for a quarter or so.

Thanks - this was the info I was looking for - and it's good news.  I'd say he's between questionable and probable for the Jests game on Sunday and back for the playoffs for sure.  It will be interesting to see if he is reinserted as the starter, or if the injury costs him the spot.  Feliciano and Ford were also back from COVID list prior to yesterday's agme, so now we are only down Ike at guard.  Could be a lot worse.

I'd rest him against the Jets then start him for the playoffs.

No offense to all You good posters, but none of the above explanations make any sense.

Bates doesn’t miraculously make the other guys better. Cody Ford has been playing decently lately. There is more too what happened today.

Even when Brown was at LT today, they were looking great at every position. A few weeks ago Darryl Williams didn’t even move at the snap— now he is playing great at both guard and tackle?

Morse has been getting blown off the ball at the snap, and suddenly held his own today.

i have no idea what happened, except all 5 guys played out of their minds today.

Maybe someone pulled rank on the O-line coach and said "step aside for awhile'. Maybe Pegula had enough and told Sean and Daboll to  get involved.....

I lived in Cincinnati for a year and that simply isn't true...I don't understand exactly what these players mean when they say there is "nothing to do" when there are 15-20 places they could go to "party" on any given night. Florence, KY right across the river also has quite a few places.

Agree, but his peers in Miami have beaches, Instagram models galore, and the chance to hobnob with celebrities - all the perceived needs of a young urbanite. Dumb comment on Burrow's part.

So now you have a more layered offense on the field that is harder to defend.  What I love about Davis is that he is deceptively fast too, he is a guy who can beat you deep when you are not expecting it, just like he is a guy who can use his body to create space on a quick slant.

Going a step further, is it also worth having Stevenson run a few go routes during a game?  (Essentially the Robert Foster role)

    We need a punter.

Should be an internal team fine for taunting penalties. Terrible discipline.  No excuse for that crap, particularly when coming on top of a batch of other penalties.  Get a handle on this right now.

Singletary should be getting 20 touches per week.

No excuse for taunting. Need an angry vet to set the policy if the coaches don't.

Singletary was the guy who "could make you miss in a phone booth" as a rookie and used to make nice plays his rookie year when he was used more. Then they drafted Moss for that "one foot and a cloud of dust" factor and Singletary has been an afterthought ever since.

Yesterday he made some plays on offense. Now, I'm not saying he is a feature back or that he is a gamebreaker. But we know he CAN make plays because we've seen it here, in this offense, for this team.

When you get 3 touches a game you're not going to get into any type of rhythm.

Singletary definitely has a role on this team, even if it's not as a starter.

Didn't they call at least one designed run for him after the injury too? Yikes. Hope it's not serious. Get well soon, Josh.

I think so and while Allen was the most effective player out there, I think that called run was a little tone deaf.  Beane has got to know that Allen will kill himself to win and Daboll will let him do it and this is largely the result of his (Beane's personnel decisions).  Hopefully Allen doesn't have to play like Ferguson in the 1980 Chargers-Bills playoff game (a very old memory of a gimpy Bills QB).
