The Bills are putting Allen through the wringer. Hes not going to last if we keep neglecting HIM (I guess thats where we will go with this).

I promise you he will leave this team if they dont do right by him.

How is Allen being neglected and how are we not "doing right by him"?

    Please elaborate with specifics.

To be honest Scott, I really don't care about all this bottom of the roster musical chairs teams play. Most of these guys are never going to amount to anything in this league which is why they are cut/claimed/etc.

But I see a lot of Bills podcasters and media figures chest thumping over the fact 4 guys were claimed by other teams as if it actually means something. But kudos to this organization for another hollow accomplishment I guess and I'm sure KC and other serious contenders could care less as well about how much of their scraps ended up elsewhere.

It's not chest-thumping when it's a statement of fact. It means that others are recognizing the Bills depth and quality of the organization.

I don’t see the problem there.

The crux is that Tua is a capable, above average QB apart of a roster that’s better than the Bills in terms of both starting talent and depth. They’re a dangerous team, perhaps division favorite, so long as Tagovailoa stays on the field.

    Red herring

The statement was who is a better QB. There is no debate.

There's a thread in the Off the Wall forum for "phrases you hate." We've identified a number of them.

Indeed, I may have to imbibe a Guinness or two to mollify the soul and forestall an attack of misanthropic exasperation.

I’m with you. On my 3rd Guinness, are there any more phrases we can identify?

Don't forget the obligatory "Super bowl!" salute every time some scrub that adds to the back end of the roster is signed.

It might just barely have registered as humorous the first time.

I’ll pile on with the requisite “get ‘er done Beane” whenever anyone is available via trade

Thoroughly speculative studies based upon nebulous data I fabricated prove 3 out of 5 TSWers enjoy the New England Conditional Draft Pick fallacy.  You and sourpuss Limeaid may file protests with the appropriate agencies.

My tech skills are not the best so had to try and pause my tv at the right second so apologise for picture quality. But there you can clearly see Edwards hands on the back of the Bear defender while Cook is still 3 yards away from them.

That is a block in the back every day of the week. It is less ticky tacky looking at that than I thought at the time and I always thought it was a foul.

I appreciate you posting the photo. I’d really like to see it in real speed because I think the initial contact was from the side but as the defender fell he turned to his back side, hence the appearance of hands on the back. I also think Cook’s path took him away from the path the defender was on so any contact by Edwards was inconsequential.

Yea I'd have thrown the flag personally. But all good.

I only saw it live and did not record the game so I couldn’t see a replay. To me it was clear Edwards made slight lateral (side) contact and nowhere near the back. But I can see in real time how an official may have seen it differently. I noticed Tasker immediately called BS.

Well it was Edwards not Quess....

It was unnecessary in the sense that it was already a play that had gained yards. It wouldn't have sprung him for a 1st down without the block in the back.... but they should have just taken the 3 or 4 yard gain and moved onto the next play.

My mistake, it was Edwards but it was not a block in the back and as others have pointed out, Cook had already cut away from the path of the would be tackler even without the contact.

It provides a start. No stat provides ALL context, but in conjunction with what we've seen before, it still has value.

    2020 - 35 receptions on 62 targets (58%)

    2021 - 35 receptions on 63 targets (56%)

    2022 - 48 receptions on 93 targets (52%)

So do QB's just throw worse every time he targets Gabe? Or was Gabe 1 for 4 today because he either doesn't run the best routes, drops passes, or isn't able to get seperation & fight off defenders?

    By comparison, here's Diggs:

    2020 - 127 receptions on 166 targets (77%)

    2021 - 103 receptions on 164 targets (63%)

    2022 - 108 receptions on 154 targets (70%)

Guess Allen just throws better when targeting Diggs...

you cited the stats from today's game, that what I was alluding to

    to wit:

One is a bad throw become an interception and another is a good defense play where the cornerback has his hand on the ball. Can’t recall the 3rd one, but don’t get an impression Davis is inconsistent pulling the ball in when watching the game.

Gabe Davis - 1 reception on 4 targets (15 yards)

Stefon Diggs - 2 receptions on 2 targets (20 yards)

Didn't watch the full game, just the game broken down into a 30 min cut, but looks like Gabe is still inconsistent in pulling down those passes despite the many chances.

    A “target” provides no context.

He was just undisciplined… stupid block in the back on a the wr screen, struggled with speed rush, drive killing holding.

The Bills have always struggled against fronts like the Steelers.

Rest assured it looks like it’s still there.

the block in the back was a garbage call

I love Allen and what he has done for this team and organization, but my god, he deserves so much better. How do you have an elite, top 3 QB(I have him behind Mahomes, but I know people debate him vs Burrow)and not do everything humanly possible to make his life easier? How?? You don't fix the OL? You could have gotten Hopkins and given him a solid #2 receiver. Beane basically did nothing this offseason. Josh deserves a SB, and I feel like this organization is borderline dysfunctional. I feel some sort of Matt Stafford arc for him coming. He keeps being let down by the coaches/mahagement, goes to another team in his 30's and wins the whole thing. Just embarrassing.

please stop with the Hopkins thing. There's a reason he went to TENN and not KC or Buf  - $$$$. It's all he wanted, and to say "we could have gotten him" is just plain wrong. He wasn't taking less $$ to go to a BUF or or KC. It's his last contract, and someone else who had the $ paid it.
