  1. I travel a lot for work, Airports, restaurants, malls. This past year I saw Bills fans everywhere where I went. Trips to LA, Phoenix, Dallas, Ft Meyers, Ft. lauderdale Miami. Every trip i went on, I got a “Go Bills” or at least saw people, multiple people representing. This week, went through DC, Baltimore airport, Charlotte, finished up in West Palm Beach today. Saw one guy with a Bills hat all week. It was like people were embarrassed that we lost to KC again.

But really the worst thing that made me pause was the treatment and threats to Bass. How embarrassing and really down right dirty low class. I haven’t lived in Buffalo for a long time, and this was the first year I didn’t make it back for a visit. So what’s going on up there? I would hope it was just a small sample size of fans who acted out like that, but damn they were a serious black eye on the mafia. Cant tell you how many friends and co workers mentioned how nasty Bills fans are this week, Buy the end of the eeek i just gave up defending and had to agree to a point.

I'd argue he was pushing himself to be the best in the playoffs, no? Even though he was "comfortable" with Brady as his OC.

He played smarter in the playoffs, except for his fumble he protected the ball well. Still needs help seeing the field or taking what is given at certain times. I want a better designed passing game, haven’t seen that for a while.

    My evaluation of Joe Brady..

    Pros:

    1. Coaching style: Brought more energy/juice to the off room- including getting Josh back into a groove and fewer turnovers

    2. Playcalling: liked we had better balance and used Cook/Kincaid in more ways.  Better rhythm overall

    3. Ability to improve: we've yet to see him install "his system", did a good job working within the existing system

    4. Diverse scheme: we haven't seen it fully yet, but Brady has experience in effective and good schemes in the past

    Cons:

    1. Passing game: struggled down the stretch vs expectations

    2. Retread: hasn't been successful everywhere he's been.  fired from Carolina

I think he gets the job for 3 reasons:

    1. Continuity/familiarity

    2. We haven't seen "his scheme" yet, and he runs an offense that McD likes

    3. WR2/weapons: not blaming everything on WR2, but when you want to run a short/intermediate attack (with select downfield shots), Gabe doesn't fit at all/we didn't have many options other than rookie Kincaid

Get a legit WR in round 1 and another FA.  We need to do a better job in FA at finding a weapon to use/worth the $ (Beane has invested, albeit low $s, that add up and haven't panned out)

We said that about Dorsey and how did that work out?

I don’t see Von or Diggs agreeing to a pay cut …but I still see other roster moves being made like restructuring Josh again and cutting some other guys to allow some modest FA moves …which may include finding a mid tier WR … not expecting Evans or Higgins though

I just think there are so many holes to fill that whatever savings we get from renegotiating will go to fill the immediate holes, a speedy wide receiver if available won’t come cheap. The logical place to get one is the draft. But who knows what will happen???

  5. 3 hours ago, Aussie Joe said:

In terms of the numbers … they will go Defense heavy in the draft

But I still expect them to pick at least 1 receiver ( first round), maybe another mid round depending on what happens in FA… and a C in rounds 3-4 to learn the job for  a year and take over in 2025 …

Get that done and I could care  less if they use all those Day 3 picks on the D …

Ain’t much gonna happen in free agency unless Von and Diggs want to adjust their contract to their value. a good speedy wide out will have to come through the draft

I never once mentioned Diggs reading this forum, so not sure why you keep mentioning that.

I simply asked why do people keep trying to force a negative narrative every time Diggs doesnsomething that he always does.  Never seen a player whose every move is always being tried to be twisted into something negative.  Him not talking to the press after the game is 100% normal.  He normally does not talk to the press after the game, especially after hard losses like this one.

But here people are acting like its abnormal and a bad sign and he is a bad person for doing the same thing he has always done and that MANY players do.  its ridiculous.

Probably confusing side discussions with Karlos about the same topic. But to say Diggs never talks or talked to the press it takes two seconds to google Diggs interviews, and a whole bunch will pop up. So he does them when he feels like it, and doesn’t when he doesn’t. If you’re willing to talk about the good times you should be able to talk about the bad. I get it, he is emotional and probably better he keeps it to himself in the tough times. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be discussed here.

I didnt say it cant be discussed, I asked what is the point of manufacturing narratives over and over like this fan base loves to do.  So I am directly asking what does one get out of doing that?  Does it somehow make them feel better to unjustly tear someone else down for doing what he has always done in terms of how he processes these bad losses?

Why isn't anyone talking about the huge hits Diggs took over and over again the past few weeks to just get back up and keep doing his job and laying it all on the line?  Why aren't you talking about how most of the team didn't talk to the press, why is it only an issue with Diggs?  Why aren't you discussing how much the staff and players love Diggs and accept him for who he is and how he processes things?

No instead people want to tear him down...and for what?  Because they think they are entitled to Diggs doing things in a different way than he has always handled them?  Because they cant for even a moment truly understand the level of sacrfice, commitment, and competitive drive it takes to reach the levels he has reached let alone understand the pain that comes with the feeling it was all for nothing?

Sorry...its just sad how as a society we feel the need to attack others to make ourselves feel better.  Like these losers giving Bass death threats...Bills Mafia is supposed to mean more than that, and be better than that.

And you are right it is a message board...hence my right to come in and ask what is the point of it.

Who cares what his brother says.  His brother been saying that BEFORE Digss signed his extension...and Diggs still signed an extension keeping him in Buffalo for rest of his best years of his career if not rest of his career.

So again, who cares what his brother says

The point is it should be discussed, but if someone says lies or gives misinformation it too should be called out. But Diggs past or future contracts or past or current behavior doesn’t get him a pass for any actions or behavior. And to think as some here try to imply, us in this forum discussing his behavior will somehow hurt his feelings, sorry that has zero effect on how he feels about the Bills.

I hope he gets back to where he was, I don’t know if he was injured in some way, it certainly looked like it. But with his contract the Bills need better production, and mentally I think he needs to be able to provide it to be happy with himself and the team.

I wouldn’t say I know him in the sense that we’re friends but Im around him maybe twice a month when he’s in town. A decent amount of other players as well.

Scared for me because I think it’s weird adults are obsessed with another person talking to the media. That’s not weird at all.

Did you record him saying something as he was leaving the stadium? He didn’t say much of anything in the months after. There was a lot of speculation and people making stuff up. Do you have a link to what he said?

“Diggs had skipped the first day of the team’s mandatory minicamp on June 13, sparking speculation of a wider rift with the team after an offseason filled with cryptic messages and hints of tensions.”

You are right, He wasn’t posting cryptic messages on Social Media, he wasn’t letting the narrative he wasn’t unhappy be a dark cloud over the summer. I must have imagined the whole thing🤦‍♂️

Seriously, what is the point of this?  This is the same thing Diggs always does.  Why do people need to go out and force a narrative and make it into something more than it is?

The fan base is just the worst with this kind of stuff.  People handle things differently, we already know Diggs is not one to want to discuss the loss like this as he has never done it prior.

He was an exceptional teammate all season...he was chosen as a captian...his teammates love him.  They accept how he processes things...fans need to get over this "you owe me something" mentality with players when they are facing their lowest lows and hard moments.

Leave him be...let him process things how he deals with them, not the way you think he should deal with them.

Because this is a Bills discussion forum. It doesn’t affect Diggs one bit. Do you think he ran to the forum to see what’s going on, if people are talking about him? If we talk about the draft are you worried it will affect who Beane Chooses? This fan base isn’t any different than any other fan base, especially those with teams that chronically under perform. Don’t like a topic move on to the next. The original post may be spot on or totally incorrect, but to say this doesn’t deserve to be discussed is ridiculous.

Exactly - Mahomes barely broke a sweat last night. The Chiefs essentially scored on every drove but one. They had 5 total 3rd downs all game. The longest drive was only 10 plays long yet they had 4 drives over 60 yards. They could do whatever they wanted to this D.

And they only beat us by a field goal. Two drops one by Sherfield and one by Diggs and it’s a completely different story.

Not the way the D line played.  I’m not sure how much a difference he makes.

Mahomes looked comfortable and wasn’t sacked.

I mean the ripple down effect sure it’s possible with him we get that one stop.

    Our D line was atrocious

And yet a field goal  was the difference. The Chiefs vaunted defense vs are old broken down jalopy defense, and a field goal was the difference. One play Diggs dropping the ball and walking in for a Td was the difference 🤦‍♂️ Tired of the what ifs, maybe it’s too soon to rationally talk about it.

I'm just as mad/dissapointed that we lost last night as any other bills fan today. Last week I heard alot on local sports talk radio about how this was our year and how if we just beat kc, it's gotta be our year finally. OK, based on what?!

The last 8 games have been fun. Nobody thought this team would win the division, let alone be the 2 seed and host 2 home playoff games. Having said that, our offense needs serious help. Allen is an absolute animal, but he can't do absolutely everything. I've seen Diggs take alot of flack today on social media and it's well deserved. He's been non existentent the last 8 or so games. Harty and sherfield were complete non factors the entire season. Gabe played nowhere near what we (and the team) expected. Knox was hurt and even when he wasn't, he wasn't exactly a game changer. Kinkaid and Shakir were the lone bright spots, and Shakir really didn't show up until after Dorsey was gone. Cook was great, but we need more. The defense came through, even as beat up as they've been, but in today's nfl you cannot rely solely on the defense. WGR brought up a great point this morning, saying how kc has won superbowls when their defense was ranked in the mid 20's. We need more offense.

I could go on and on, but Imo this wasn't the team that was gonna win it all. I was worried about last night's game, and even had they pulled it out, I'd never believe they could get through Baltimore. Houston has a similar offense to Buffalo and they couldn't muster more than 3 points on offense against Baltimore. Ya I know they have a rookie qb, but stroud is a beast. It'll be super interesting to see what kc does against Baltimore next week. I think Baltimore beats kc by 10 🤷 thanks for letting me vent

Not in it’s current condition, before the Pittsburgh game I’d give them a chance.

7 - 2 vs decent competition taking over under bad circumstances mid stream & not running your own offense….. I think he did an admirable job and deserves a shot.

Last night was a defensive issue not offensive.

That will be his key, can he design an offense that schemes receivers to be open? Can he figure out how to have Kincaid more involved .

  14. 3 minutes ago, Donuts and Doritos said:

If Diggs & Sherfield could catch wouldn't have been 7 points. His play calls had guys open, they didn't execute, that's not on him. I agree he could have adjusted faster but w/o better pass catching from the WRs, changing OC won't change the results.

Can’t argue with that, those were game changing plays. But  often he’s too predictable, every first down inside the 10 is a run. What really needs to be seen is what he could do with better receivers. He also got away from using Kincaid during the drives that were stopped. Kids a beast and could have been used better during the season and last night.
