  1. Indy,

Who is to say that Jason Peters wont keep doing what he did last year? Do you really want to go through two more years of that (and I truly believe Peters was stupid enough to do just that) he was getting bad advice and listening to it.

Or suppose that player that is taken at that new pick ends up being a stud player.......dont we come out ahead?

God I KNOW that you dont trade left tackles.....but he really was hurting this team.

I understand your point of view. I really do. But at one point does the front office take blame for the continual replacing of players because of so called attitudes. We draft Willis and he needs to be replaced because of his attitude. We draft Marshawn and as good as a back as I believe he is at one point do we close the book on him and draft his replacement before we should need to because of his mistakes. Football character. A friend of mine works at Reebok and is close with a number of personnel people include Scott Piolia. It is late and I cant spell so forgive me. But when he was with the Patriots one of the nuggets he gave my friend was we draft people that love to play football not people that love the trappings of football and everything that comes along with being a professional athlete. I find that the Bills do not follow this premise. It bears out over and over. Mike Williams.... read Russ Tuckers article. McCargo... lazy.. Who is doing the research... Peters. Willis.. The list goes on and on.. We make zero progress and replace and then somehow are surprised when we go 7-9 for the 6th time in a row or whatever. When will they learn. Listen I am a huge Bills fan. Watching Indy win the Superbowl was great as I am a season ticket holder but it will not be the same until the Bills win it. And I just dont see how we will ever get close until we change something in our philosophy.. Because it is broken.

  2. - Is it everything that I wanted? No I wanted the earlier of the 1st round picks and a 3rd. But did everybody stop and think that this was the BEST the bills could get and they knew they weren't going to be able to sign Peters? What do you do? You take the best deal you can get and obviously this was it.

    - There is something that has been bothering me about Peters for some time now. Peters knew that he was getting set for a big payday last year and yet he didn't do what needed to be done to have a great year....as a matter of fact he had the WORST year of any starting LT in the league. This just screams "warning" at me. A motivated player would want to dominate and ensure that paycheck. Peters REGRESSED. SOOOO what will people be saying if Peters either a. Goes out and bombs with the Eagles this year or b. Cant stay healthy like he has been unable to do the past two years? Will having an extra first round pick look more worth it then?

    - The bills will probably go LT with that 11 pick.....but I actually dont think I need to. I am a big D. Bell fan. The kid has very athletic feet and a whole offseason conditioning program.

    - Now that the bills know they wont be paying huge LT money......will they step up and bring in a couple more veteran free agent guys?

    - I wanted closure....I got it.

Like who? Who is good that every team has not signed up until now that we can splash money on. No one. This is the problem as I see it. We now have to use the 11 to hopefully replace what we just traded. So we basically got rid of someone that our wonderkid GM couldnt handle. Ohhh contract negotiations were going to drag out. Fine. Peters wont show up. Fine. He will have a sub par year. Fine. Good luck getting a big league contract after 3 years of pulling this sh-- Jason Peters. By then he would have been 29. 3 years of sh--.. At somepoint Peters would have had to break down and play ball. So we now have the 28th pick to address the needs that we could have addressed at 11. Brilliant. But thank God we saved Ralphy boys money. Saving Bills Cap money like it effects our personal credit score. YEAH!!! This is the problem every year. Willis is the wrong RB. So we trade him for a couple of 3rds and draft MArshawn. Yeah.. Great upgrade and we wasted a high pick trading out. Same bunch of scouts.. Same bunch of evaluators. Same bunch of sh-- we get sold every year. At somepoint you would think they would get it right. But no. Every year it is the same sh--. 2 steps backwards. 1 step forward. I cant wait to trade Parrish for a 5th watch Leodis get hurt and then wonder why did we trade Parrish for that 5th round pick again? Then we can trade Lee Evans next year for a couple of 4ths and waste a 1st on a WR.

  3. Tim,

Quick Peters question. Have the Bills thought of using a multiyear signing/roster bonus plan with Peters. Basically raising his salary to 7-8 million this year with escalators to the range that Peters thinks he is worth i.e 10-12 million a year in years 2-5. With some sort of Big roster bonus in Year 2 or 3 that would force the Bills to either pay him or cut him loose. It would give Peters the chance to prove he is worth big time money through his play next season and if he doesnt it would allow the Bills not to have to swallow the 10-20 million signing bonus up front for a player that they question his motivation. Worst case for Peters he gets a 4 million dollar raise this season and his freedom if he doesnt perform and best case he is the richest tackle in football.

  4. Just received a Yahoo IM from a source deeeeeeep within stating that Peters is to be dealt for similar to what the Broncos got for Cutler. This is from so deep that Dick himself is going to release a statement by weeks end prior to the deal explaining the terms

Or what? Put something on the line.. Sooo.. or what?

  5. Thanks, you just convinced me. I don't want Trent getting slammed to the ground like a rag doll, so lets trade the LT that gave up the most sacks in the league last year.

There is no denying his talent, but I'm sick of his game. Let him be another teams headache. I want players that buy into the team, especially linemen.

McNally called Peters the best player he had coached since Anthony Munoz. So yeah.. Lets trade him. I cant wait for all the posts during the season in which blast the bills for not having a offensive line. Ohh but the draft picks.. Yep.. I mean the guys we have picked over the years have been brilliant... It is the main reason we have made the playoffs.. Ohhh wait..

You trade Peters for picks and you have to basically suck up the fact that TO was signed purely for marketting. The Bills will not make the playoffs again.... And that we are playing for a few years from now. Again.

  6. To the Eagles he is a "guaranteed" starting OLT who is in his prime and voted to the pro bowl the last two years........ Priceless

You can not find a player who is "guaranteed" in the draft...What is his value in points....... points are used in the draft when trading players......

The number one pick is worth 3000 points. He will be a good player but not "guaranteed" The Eagles will know what they are getting in Peters.

A player who achieves, has heart & talent...Is dependable and not a trouble maker....... "Guaranteed" or as close as you can get to it...

The Eagles could offer the Bills the following.......Their #21 pick worth 800 points, their 28th pick worth 660 points, their 53rd pick worth 370 points and their 85th pick worth 165 points... Total number of points is 1995 which is equivalant to a 4th pick in the draft......

    http://www.ourlads.com/nfldraftvalue.cfm

The Bills once had a 4th pick named Mike Williams, who was a Offensive Tackle....... He was very offensive if you will remember......

If the Bills do decide to take such a trade what would be their moves?

I would move Walker to LT. Chambers to RT. That leaves the Bills needing a starting Center or Guard to be acquired early with one of their picks.

The Bills would now have the following picks in the draft.

    #11 A first round pick

    #21 A first round pick

    #28 A first round pick

    #45 A second round pick

    #53 A second round pick

    #75 A third round pick

    #85 A third round pick

They also have one pick in round 4,5,6,7......

They now can fill all their needs with quality players from their draft picks........

They can acquire in no particular order a starting LB, DE, TE, OT, Center/Guard

There are still more draft picks to fill out the 53 man roster with quality young players...

at many other positions... The Bills would be greatly improving their roster with young talent...

There may be a lot of objections to such a deal........ no doubt... from both sides

    Then maybe not ......

So if you made this trade last year.. It would be Peters for

    21- Sam Baker

    28- Lawrence Jackson

    53- Limas Sweed

    85- Craig Stevens.

    For a ProBowl LT...

Not sure but I think a lot of people OVER RATE draft picks...

  7. Interesting. I remember a player named Bruce Smith that did some "showboating" every time he got a sack when the Bills were on a national game.

I do not remember him being "booed" off the stage.

Then again, maybe the San Fran writers just think we were booing him when in fact we were saying "Brrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuccccccccceeeee".

Silly San Fran fans. D**ks are for chicks.

    I also remember Flutiemania....

Flutie was a me first player that no one wanted.

TO is a me against the world type guy and so is the city of Buffalo. I think everyone forgets that. If TO performs, brings attention to Buffalo and helps us Win... HE WILL BE LOVED!! As long as he does not bash Buffalo.. He will be a HERO..

  8. On Feb 28th the strike of midnight the Bills will have signed no one... By 12:30 Many posters will start calling for Brandon's head....

March 1st Noonish... Still with no one signed many members of the board will be livid by the fact that no one has signed.

Around 1pm. Annoucement of BIG Name Free Agent #1 coveted by many on this board will sign for 6 years 8 million per season... Poster who orginally thought Big Name Free Agent #1 would have agreed to come to Buffalo to play on the cheap. Something to the tune of 6 years 2 million per would have got it done.... Outrage and anger... Then posts stating that not spending that money on one player was a wise move by the Front Office. We need to protect our salary cap structure as if it somehow impacts our own personal credit rating...

Around 7pm still no one signed.. WTF posts begin to bog down the board.

Around 9pm another trade Jason Peters post arrives with the phrase "Now hear me out" leading the post off...

March 2nd..... First Ralph Wilson has made the HOF and now could care less thread makes an appearance on the board. Followed by posters asking for patience.

March 2nd around Noon.... Chris Kelsay has been cut by the Bills. Posts that state that Brandon and this Front Office finally get it arrive on the board.

March 3rd. Trade Donte Whitner and Jason Peters posts continue to flood TBD. All of which make perfect sense as the Buffalo Bills FO and scouting department has done such a fantastic job with existing 1st day picks. John McCargo, JP Losman, and James Hardy..... But trading proven players for the opportunity to draft the likes of these studs again makes sense somehow.

March 4th... First Bills signing announced. Little known LB terms of the deal is 5 years 24.5 million. 5 million a season... He must be an up and comer none of us have ever heard of but this crack front office team we have is on to something...

March 22nd Second Bills signing announced. DE backup signed. 4 years 17 million. Will be primarily a backup.

Draft Day- Bill reach and take Brandon Pettigrew with the 11. Passing on some stud DE and QB Sanchez. In the second round select Max Unger Center.

Fans declare the days work the final pieces to the Buffalo Bills 2009 Superbowl run.

2009 Season- Bills flirt with playoffs, lets us all down, finish 7-9, Jauron is let go and we rebuild again. Rinse and Repeat for next 5-10 years...

    So far so good!!

Sorry it is a slow Monday!!

    SO far so good

  9. I was listening to the Midday show on 97.1 The Fan a couple hours (By the way I hate listening to these guys, they love to bash Kelly and Berman) and Scott Torgerson reported they the Bills are going to sign Jeff Garcia and Stacey Andrews. I don't know if it's true but they both commented they would be surprised if they signed Garcia with Edwards in Buffalo.

Stacy Andrews of the Bengals who has been franchised? So we are giving up 2 #1s..... Yeah right..

  10. :censored:

On a more serious note. I wouldn't be upset if we brought in Vilma, he would definitely be an upgrade of what we have had, and probably an upgrade over Crowell. My concern is how much he would cost. If it only cost less than $2Million a year less than Crowell, then I think it would be worth it, if not, then I think the money could be spent more wisely elsewhere.

2 million. 1998 called and you still could not get Vilma signed for 2 million a year... And Magox. I have a job for you but only if you will work for 12,000 a year anything more and my money would be spent better elsewhere.

Again. Do the people on this board still think that spending the Bills cap money has an impact on your personal credit score? Good Lord..

  11. Somebody needs to write a NFL conduct policy handbook for dummies.

    Helpful hints like.

Smoke your dope at home and not in a parking lot.

If you do smoke dope in a parking lot before leaving the house remove all firearms from your trunk.

When arrested.. Dont not proclaim your Ko Simpson and you are worth millions. You may be Ko Simpson but you are not worth millions.

When out with a buddy at a nightclub and carrying a firearm. Do not shoot yourself in the thigh...

When throwing a hot tub party for underage girls.. Check all parties for cameras....

When driving drunk in downtown Buffalo be on the lookout for drunk Canadian chicks.

When you are a NFL Probowl running back.. You no longer need to bring your own liquor into the club. You can officially afford to buy your own drinks.

  12. I really would not have a problem getting him at #11. This would obviously mean they have to get a DE in FA. In order to solidify that anchor on the line for a decade, I would have no problem with this supposed " reach".

If they don't get him there, I would do whatever needs to be done to go back in the first to snag him. I think this would open up the Offense TREMENDOUSLY.

The same people you are listening to are the same people on this board that would have given their first born for Robert Gallery a few years ago.
