  1. I'd be alright with Dungy. I don't think he's at all interested though and it doesn't mean he'd bring Vick in if he did come here. Vick is still property of the Eagles. There would be a lot of factors involved with Vick coming here.

I think the solution is to offer Tony Dungy the President of Football operations. Allow him to bring in a GM and a coach. It brings the credibility this organization has lacked for quite some time.

  2. Tim,

You replied in this thread that no one can win with this group. I agree, but what do you see happening at the end of the season? Will the Bills clean house? What can we reasonably expect in terms of changes? Or as fans can we expect 10 more years of playoffless winters?

    Thanks

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if the team is sold to a new owner, the new owner has to pay the league another sum of money that I've heard ranging from 500 mil to 1billion just to move a team. the Bills are worth just shy of 800 million, so who is going to spend nearly double that to move a team when the team already has a successful fan base?

This is probably going to piss a lot of people off but... Yes we have a successful fan base but not at standard NFL prices. I read a post today of someone that pays 400 for season tickets. I was stunned. I am a season ticket holder for the Colts. I have not great not bad seats and pay 1100 a year for them. I have friends that have pretty good seats that pay 250 a ticket.. 2500 a year per seat. Not to mention the number of suites are ridiculous..

So moving a team in the long run may make more sense if you can find a viable market. I dont claim to know where that market is or even that the Bills would move. I just think that a team can make a whole lot more money in a different city.

And... Until the fans stop selling out every single game what is Ralphs motivation to do anything differently? Every year it is the same load of crap. And every year fans buy it. We dont have the right players, the right coaching staff, the right front office.... How do you expect us to make the playoffs? The only coach worth a damn to take a position with the Bills would need TOTAl control. You think Cowher, Gruden or any other proven coach is going to come here without having total control? And Ralph wont ever give that grip up again.

  4. I believe we have a Lauvale Sape sighting... lets get his fan club out of the woodworks!!!!

    AWESOME...

What is funny is the reason I started this board was because the QB selecting GURU's on this board were bitching and complaining about the Bills not using the pick they used on Sape to select Hall fo Fame QB Drew Hensen. The Bills idiotic braintrust really blew it on that one. I started the Sape fan club and the rest was history...

  5. Ohhh Greggo.. I have to call bull **** on this one...

2001 Bills had both Flutie and Johnson in the fold. They are forced to choose.. They choose Johnson.. If they were seriously interested in Brees they would have/should have kept Flutie and drafted Brees and give him a couple years to develop. Aka exactly what San Diego did when they drafted Brees.. Now yes it did take Brees a couple of years to develop and only after they drafted Rivers.

I love revisionist history like this. I can always remember Marv saying that he really wanted this Brett Farve character but they already had Jim Kelly...... Blah Blah Blah...

  6. 1. 7-9 > 0-16

I'm not sure how long you've been a Bills fan, but it really sucks to have a real loser, and I'd much rather have a team who can win most games than a team that has no hope. It hurts more when they do end up being eliminated from playoff contention, but that's because you still care. Try being a Lions fan for a while and see if you still think there's no difference.

    2. Fact: Dick Jauron has not won enough here.

That does not mean he "has proven he can't win". He won 13 games and was coach of the year less than a decade ago. I'm not saying he will turn things around; I do think he has a better chance with this team, this year, than anyone else you could get to come here right now, especially if we end up firing our head coach after one game.

We need to be proactive, not reactive. In other words, a decision should be made based on what the outcome might be, not because of what has happened in the past. In my opinion, the likely outcome of keeping him (through this year at least) is far more desirable than the likely outcome if he were to be fired today.

Logic? You are using logic and reason on a Buffalo Bills message board?

  7. That is funny.

Guys, I think McKelvin bringing it out was the right call. However, before McKelvin steps on the field, DJ tells April, "You tell him, to run it out of the endzone, horizontally to kill 6 seconds. One of two things will happen next, one of the Pats will get close enough to touch him, or 6 seconds will run off the clock, either way, FALL DOWN and lay there until he hears a whistle."

If that happens, the bills win the game due to being up two scores, NE having 3 TO's.

That didnt happen, and its this type of mistake that in consistently made. It sounds crazy, but I could have won that game as a coach by doing exactly what I typed above. If I could have won, with no experience and NFL head coach, how can we justify continuing a season knowing the staff will not allow us to win? (I think Van Pelt should stay, not because I'm a homer, but because he is a good coach and hasnt proved otherwise)

Its just been too long, and too much losing and I am for the most extreme measures to be taken.

"The bills win the game due to being up two scores" They were up by five points.

And if we dont agree with you we are idiots? WOW

  8. I love that people are ready to pack it in BEFORE the damn season starts. Listen, we ridded ourselves of dead weight. Langston Walker being the HEAVIEST of that dead weight. Comedy aside, Turk=terrible, Walker=Fat turd with average skills, Rhodes=average for his price tag. But I am here to talk OFFENSIVE LINE.....to the so-called "experts" who are complaining about our BLOWN UP offensive line. Well, I don't know about you, but this is exactly what I have been waiting for. I am so sick of the Panos, Teague, Villarrial, Ben Anderson, Gandy, Fowler, Reyes, Walker, Dockery, Whittle's of the world...... Now THIS is a commitment to the line....5 young guys jelling TOGETHER!! You can take my season tickets

    "FROM MY COLD DEAD HAND"!!

    Your cold dead hand.....

Carson Palmer called it. Someone is going to die playing this game. I take it you are playing QB this year for the Bills behind this line...

    Sorry I couldnt resist.

  9. You apparently. While the timing of the Bills moves this offseason has been suspect at best, the Bills are better because of them. Van Pelt will have to try extremely hard to be worse than Schonert and Bell is already a better LT than Walker (not saying much there).

I really have to disagree here. Do not mistake being able to play the game for being able to coach the game.

And Bell is better than Walker. Bell has barely played in this league. I think this year will be a wake up call for a ton of fans that enjoy running coaches and players out of town.

  10. So we are beating the drum of the Bills are brilliant for firing this man...

Who gets to beat the drum that the Bills are a bunch of idiots for hiring this man, letting him run the offense during camp, preseason and then the light bulb goes off that maybe Turk should go.

For all those that are beating the "We had a plan" drum... Was the plan to fire your offensive coordinator and release your starting LT 1 week before the season. Because that is just !@#$ing brilliant.

  11. I've said it before and I'll say it again... it is unfortunate, but nothing at OBD will change until Ralph Wilson passes on. It is RW that has insisted on hiring bargain basement coaches for the entire existence of the franchise. We got lucky with Marv Levy, but otherwise our coaches, like our franchise, have been mediocre. Until he dies and new ownership takes over, we will not get the front office/coaching personnel in place to make this team successful. Sad but true.

You right.. BUT.. And this is a big one. When Ralph passes it will 3 years or less until the Bills relocate to another city. So be very careful for what you wish for.

  12. And we wonder why we get answers like "We just didnt execute" and all the other "We take one game at a time" BS.... Langston actually speaks his mind that he prefers to play RT and fans like the original poster slaughter him. Many fans on this board were doing everything in their power to run Jason Peters out of town. Based on the reports that I am reading it is something they will soon regret.

And honored to be playing the most important position on the line... Yeah because Freddy Jackson would be honored to be switched to being a full time starting QB by your logic. At the NFL level switching positions on the line is not as easy as you think.

  13. Tim,

First let me say I did enjoy your article on John McCargo. It just seems that I read it every year the same article? Obviously not about John McCargo but Ashton Youboty and Mike Williams, JP Losman etc.... Too many times the Bills have missed in the early rounds of the draft. Each time it seems to me it is something that issue could have been detected. effort and or immaturity. The immaturity has also hit some of the players that have produced i.e Donte and Marshawn. I guess my first question is am I off base with this assessment? Is their anything you are aware of that the Bills are doing to improve in terms of more properly assessing the maturity of these young men? What are they doing as an organization to work with the maturity of the group of players they have? I know Dallas hired a former player whose name escapes me right now to work with players like Pacman Jones. The last question is specific to McCargo, Do you think we will see anything other than the John McCargo we have come to know the last 4 years this year?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions on this site.

  14. Bills guys that should be on that list.

    Special Teams.

    P- Brian Morman

    PR- Roscoe Parrish

    KR- Leodis Mckelvin

    Defense

    DT- Pat Williams

    CB- Nate Clemens

Possibly Takeo Spikes, Winfield, and Donte Whitner

    Offense

    WR- Lee Evans

    T- Jason Peters

    FB- Larry Centers

Possibly Ruben Brown and Eric Moulds

A respectable amount of representation for the Bills. Two guys on the defensive side of the Ball. Three guys on offense. The Biggest Representation being Special teams where we have been the best unit for some time now.

11 guys on each side of the ball 4 teams so the bills have average representation to me but heavy on the special teams sides.

Leodis for the all decade team? WOW... Played one year and you have him on the ALL decade team.

That is like naming Thurman Thomas to the Miami DOlphins Wall of Fame.

  15. Hell, Kay Stephenson BENCHED Smith early in that season because he didn't think he was strong enough against the run.

    Lori,

Yes Kay did. But in his defense at that time Bruce wasnt. It was after Bruce's first year that he dedicated himself to getting into the type of physical shape that led him to becoming a NFL Hall of Fame player. During Bruce's first year I think even Bruce would admit he wasnt a terrific football player.

  16. What the heck world are you living in? I don't think all fans if any will treat him like a God-leave that up to himself. They won't let him go? How can they stop him-he is on a one year contract. They will pay him whatever? These are the Bills you are talking about, the ones that wouldn't pay Pat Williams-who is way more valuable than Owens especially at the point of their careers where the Bills had to decide whether to pay him or not. Us against the world? I guess we are losing that fight then, since the world has done alot more winning than we have.

    [/qu

    Wait and see.

  17. There is no way he is in Buffalo after the 2009 season. He is here now because we were the only team willing to pay him 6+ million a year for one year. He is using the Bills as a stepping stone to hopefully get one last mulit-year contract from a contender (or anyone that will give it to him). Buffalo is too small of a media market for his Shrek sized ego. If you look at his track record, you don't want him more than one season anyway, after the first season he has destroyed quarterbacks and locker rooms everywhere he has been.

If TO has a good year he will be back. TO loves the spotlight and even coming to Buffalo has not hurt that spotlight. If he has a good year the fans of Buffalo will treat him like a GOD. 80,000 people loving on TO is something that TO will eat up. If he performs no way the Bills let him go and no way he will want to go. They will pay him whatever to keep him. I never thought the Bills would sign him but I just believe in the Flutiemania effect of the late 90's will be the TOmania this year. Buffalo fans love the US against the World fight. And the world wants TO to fail and nothing brings a bigger smile to Bills fans than our guys giving a big FU to the world.

  18. I sign Lauvale Sape to a 8 year 56 million dollar contract.

I force the players to practice outdoors. In the summer I buy the snow making machines from Kissing Bridge.

I teach em to get so angry after losses that they throw chairs.

I sign every player that is released ON THE CHEAP.

I trade our next 15 draft picks for thr rights of Mike Williams and bring back Rob Johnson to QB.

Any former player that was decent becomes the position coach at his position.

Instead of film. I ask the players to watch highlights of my personal madden games prior to playing the team. That way they will see how to beat the other team.

I call Skooby's BMW friends before any move allowing him to leak it to this board.

I hire a marketting team to start the Bills campaign of that makes a remake of the twister sister song COME ON FEEL THE CHROISE!!

This song will be played after every TD.

I train players to chew out the coaching staff publically. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PRESS CONFERENCES!!
