Just got up. Heading for Foxboro in about an hour. Wish me luck. I'm heading into enemy territory.

Hopefully the Pats fans will be heading home by early in the third. Should be a good time there in he second half. Just stay alive until then😂.

  2. Thanks for the info. Not certain, but didn’t they recently change the rule so vaxxed players who tested positive and were asymptomatic could return after just one negative test? Also I think vaxxed players who were sympathetic could be cleared following a negative test following 24 hours of being symptom free.

  3. Totally agree with most everything said here. The season is not over yet, not by a long shot. You don’t need to be the #1 seed to win a SB, not even be a Division Winner. The Bucs showed that last year. What you do need to do is be playing your best football in January and/or get a little lucky when you’re not.

It definitely will be a challenge for the Bills to go all the way this year while not being able to run the ball or stop the run consistently, but stranger things have happened. Usually a good running team controls TOP in their games by a significant margin making it hard on their opponents. NE ran every offensive play but three Monday night, but still did not dominate TOP against the Bills. This just shows there is still room for the Bills to win games while having teams running the ball down their throats. They just need to take advantage of the opportunities presented to them. The Bills just need to get the offense humming again and go out there for these remaining five games followed by the playoffs and just out score teams.

Statistics don’t win games, points on the scoreboard do! I’m still willing to pin my hopes on Josh Allen and the offense pulling the team out of this tailspin. How about you? Josh has the heart of a lion and I believe has the ability to will this team to victory. He’s done it before and just needs to get the mojo back.

    GO BILLS!!!

  4. Great write up as usual Virgil. Probably your best all year IMO. Every point was spot on with maybe the exception of the dome stadium part, but even that argument definitely has some merit.

As many have said the penalties are probably far and away the biggest concern. The failure of the coaching staff to correct that problem 11 weeks into the season really is concerning and like you said McD owns this. There is no you screw up, take a seat on the bench policy whatsoever with this team. Bone headed penalties and fumbles occur and the guilty parties are seldom even brought over to the sidelines for a good tongue lashing let alone a seat on the bench. No way Addison should have stayed in the game or McKenzie allowed to return another kickoff! Seems the HC is giving these guys way too much credit for being able to correct this by themselves. Stupid is as stupid does!

Star should never have been allowed to make this team at the end of camp without being vaccinated. McBean saw first hand last season what our run game defense could be reduced to without him and there were no moves to find a suitable replacement. If you are going to allow these guys to have the free will to put their personal beliefs ahead of the team then you need to have a plan when they let you down. Definitely not the case here.

  5. McDermott is the best coach the Bills have had since Marv Levy. Maybe the team won’t ultimately achieve the ultimate prize this year, but that does not diminish that one bit IMO. This is still a very young team for which the window for championships will remain open for quite some time.

The front office couldn’t accomplish all they wanted to do last offseason due to the low salary cap. That shouldn’t be a factor going forward.

A couple bad losses following a road loss in Tennessee by one foot and now people want to start questioning everything about this team from the GM and HC down. Most everything this team wanted to accomplish is still right in front of them. Some fans need to back away from the cliff!

  6. I definitely agree with most everything said here. IMO the RB’s could be more than serviceable with better run blocking, or should I say any real type of run blocking. When the RB is met by multiple defenders before even reaching the LOS I’m not sure Derrick Henry could be effective behind this OL. The run blocking is just brutal. It’s almost like they are just stepping aside and letting the defender run right by.

doesn’t seem any worse than previous seasons.

One way to attempt to fix it would be to hire full-time refs that train and watch game tape like crazy on their downtime, instead of using guys who are  gym teachers and financial consultants in their “day jobs”.

Yeah, probably not substantially worse than years past, but there are a couple crews that are downright terrible. The crew that did this week’s Miami game IMO is the absolute worse. Hughes gets tackled in the backfield, no call. Then they call Morse for holding when he barely touches the guy up around the pads. Just one example, but that crew’s head ref is just the worse. Can’t make any call without huddling with the entire crew. Just a bunch of dumb and dumber.

I’m not as sure about this. We were pretty beat up on Offense all year. The ‘64 team was stronger and would have given Cleveland all they could handle. Imagine, Jim Brown vs Cookie Gilchrest for all the marbles!

Well, maybe you are right, but that ‘65 team defense was awesome. Go to SD and completely shut down their offensive machine, that was impressive.

  9. Yeah, remember that championship season very well. I believe if they had started playing the Super Bowl, of course they didn’t call it that back then, one year earlier this ‘65 Bills team could have given the NFL champ a run for their money. Definitely a better showing than KC did the following year.

  10. This is great news and long overdue. The border situation has been asymmetric from the beginning. US nonessential travelers were not allowed into Canada by any travel means from March 2020 until this August whereas Canadian nonessential travelers could always fly into the US from the start. Now finally it will be equal for both sides starting early next month. Just in time for all the snowbirds to get their motor homes loaded up for their annual journey south which was curtailed last year.

Yeah, and even when he is on the field he isn’t being targeted much. Think the Bills are trying to tell him something? Have to wonder if the Organization knows they won’t be able to keep him and Gabe Davis after 2021 and they are kicking the tires on that scenario. My money is on Davis.
