He lacked the drive and ambition to be great. I think a lot of the injury issues were a result of it.

Johnson isn’t a great owner, and he interferes too much, but I’m with him on the Rodgers signing. It’s easy to pick on in hindsight, but Rodgers had a greater upside that Derek Checkdown Carr doesn’t have at all. Carr wasn’t going to sell tickets, or be a real franchise QB.

This country also varies greatly by zip code. Americans mostly know what part of their city can be dangerous, and how people find that trouble. Buffalo has its share of issues for example, but I’m not stressed out in most locations. In South America even the glamorous decent looking neighborhoods aren’t very safe. As far as per capita crime rates, I’m not sure how some have such inaccurate information. It actually is far higher in South America than the US. There’s a reason that survey’s in places like Brazil indicate the majority would like to leave their country. Brazil like much of South America has a fun culture, with people who enjoy life, but even locals don’t feel safe at any time.

The list of most miserable fanbases in sports

Right, does Rutgers even have a fan base? -
Things that really piss you off when driving.

The number of drugs that aren’t easily detectable in a roadside breathalyzer type test is another one of my biggest concerns. I’m seeing people who looked absolutely cooked on the road more frequently. -
Caleb Williams is off to a rough rookie start
SirAndrew replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
At the risk of sounding abrasive, did anyone actually watch USC football? I’m seeing a lot of criticism about Williams’ late season meltdowns USC. It sounds like something people are parroting from random pundits. USC the team had late season meltdowns, but it wasn’t always Williams’ fault. This Lincoln Riley coached team simply can’t play defense. The USC offense often put plenty of points on board, but lost high scoring games. Williams looked good more often than not. I’m not promising he’ll be a success, but I can’t go along with this narrative. He can make throws that other guys simply can’t. That’s what separates him from players like Fields coming out of college. The ability to make spectacular throws seems to be a defining characteristic of successful NFL QB’s these days. -

He’s no Peterman. That guy would never throw picks in practice. -
Agree, I also disagree with the idea that Chan was a brilliant offensive mind. He made his name as a position coach with the 80’s Broncos. If you look at his other stops, he didn’t have very successful offensive teams. Fitz just did what he does during Gailey’s time in Buffalo. He put together a stretch of magical games, and had a decent first half of the 2011 season. That’s what Fitz did at every stop after. Gailey didn’t do much after his time in Buffalo, and did little in the years before. That doesn’t sound like a guy with anything innovative.

I don’t fully agree with everything I think you’re getting at, but the last paragraph couldn’t be more true. It doesn’t matter what side of the legalization argument you’re on. I’m sure there was a lot of stupidity involved in this arrest. States that haven’t legalized aren’t going out looking for offenders. People get busted when they do something incredibly stupid. Things like driving around at 2am with smoke rolling out of their car windows. The type of stuff no one should be doing, regardless of the legal status. This type of obnoxious behavior is the stuff that gets people in trouble.

Joe Marino breaks down the schedule completely
SirAndrew replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, most people waste words when speaking. Reading gives us the luxury of skimming over those things. I’ve watched a few videos on various things such as auto repair, only to discover a twenty minute video that could have explained the solution in twenty seconds. -
Buffalo Bills Schedule Discussion / Prediction Thread

We always seem to get lots of early season road games. -
Celebs typically have fragile ego’s. I’m fully convinced most jokes at these roasts are shared with the person being honored before they are read aloud. I think it’s akin to believing any “reality” television.

I understand, but regardless, Kraft’s “transgressions” being off limits for jokes is super lame. Krafts’s antics were actually one of the more humorous parts of that franchise. I’d find him likable if he could handle a joke. Just my opinion though.

The Kraft rule seems super lame. People are claiming this was some fun free for all, yet they make Kraft jokes off limits.

UFL Success: Expand the footprint of your league
SirAndrew replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in Off the Wall
I wanted to like this league, but quality of play is always going to be an issue outside of the NFL. Modern football is all about the passing game, and there aren’t even enough NFL QB’s to make every NFL game watchable. It only becomes worse when you create more leagues. College football has the luxury of future NFL stars being on the field. Spring leagues are essentially battles between NFL third stringers. That’s very difficult to get excited about. -
I get that, but I find it difficult to believe the team and players didn’t know he had gang affiliations. Former players have said they’d joke with him about it during games. It just didn’t matter to the Pats when he helped them win.
-
I wasn’t offended. I’m not one to be easily offended, but I thought NFL teams were supposed to be brotherhoods. Anytime I’ve seen groups of guys work together they become close knit, no matter how much they like each other. There’s certain things you’d think are off limits once part of that brotherhood. I’m not expecting them to condone AH’s actions, but the Pats organization had no issue when he helped them win games. They knew exactly who he was, and didn’t care. Now they make jokes about him. I’m not defending the memory of AH, rather questioning the character of that organization.
-
The roast was decent, but it seems we have a lot of secret Brady/Pats fans around here.

We sure need it to be Coleman, if it isn’t Coleman then we aren’t seeing a Super Bowl imo. I’ll say Coleman just to put out good vibes.

Random talking head says something about the Bills
SirAndrew replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I couldn’t agree more, but it makes me wonder if it’s really just his PR team that makes him look so good. You know what they say about the company you keep. I think Patrick’s public image is carefully maintained, and he’s not dumb enough to throw this opportunity at greatness away. He does deserve credit for that. I’ll never understand why so many football players feel the need to get married in their 20’s at all. It doesn’t make sense to me. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
SirAndrew replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buffalo has a reputation for bad winter weather, but the NFL keeps expanding the season. The season goes so late into winter that almost everywhere has a greater potential of being impacted by extreme winter weather. There’s a huge difference between December and late January/February. -
This Will Be The Make Or Break Year For This Regime
SirAndrew replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, I mentioned this in a game day post during the divisional round. It’s possible we beat the Chiefs if any of those guys made just one big play. I’ve never worried how difficult it might be to get players here in Buffalo. NFL champions are built through the draft, and solid free agency signings. This isn’t like pro baseball where big splash free agents win titles. -

I couldn’t agree more, expectations are going to be lower, but they should never be lower with Allen at QB. They’ve only lowered because the roster has been mismanaged. It takes time for poor decisions to catch up to a franchise. The overpaid veteran players and plethora of average defensive linemen picks have finally caught up with us. The regime talks like this is an act of nature due to aging veterans, but it’s really weak early round draft picks over the years that hurt us. -
Draft Analysis - We're All Debi from Depew
SirAndrew replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can know a player inside out, but that’s the college version of that guy. There’s no way to predict player success with one hundred percent certainty. Some GM’s obviously do better than others, but this isn’t science. NFL GM’s simply speculate with more knowledge than the average fan, but it’s still a game of chance.
