    Our guy 55 losing containment

Really only happened once. After no more success against Jerry, they ran at Green on the other side.  Green did not play well.  Jerry played a heck of a game.  He took the left tackle to school and made it look easy.  I'm glad he is still playing well, even on a terrible team.  The Eagles do not look to be the unbeatable team that the media portrays them to be.  Their weak schedule has made their undefeated record possible.  A healthy 49er's team will roll them, if they get that far in the playoffs.

  2. I think the game flow will determine how much the Bills blitz.  With problems on the JEST'S o-line, I expect more d-line stunts in passing situations.  They can create the confusion necessary to get a free runner to the QB.  Teams have also confused Wilson with zone blitzes with d-linemen dropping into areas where he wasn't expecting to see coverage.   As others have said, I don't expect the Bills to go crazy with the number of times that they blitz.

  3. Hines is a versatile player.  A very good receiver and runner.  He has excellent speed.  He can return punts and kicks.  He is an experienced version of James Cooks and can do many of the things that McKenzie does.  This is a depth move.  Hines is also a great character/team guy.  He will fit the culture very well.  He should be really excited to go from a losing team to a Super Bowl favorite.  The best part is the reasonable price that Beane paid.

  4. If the Bills feel that there is an actual need, I have confidence that they have anticipated that two 30 plus year old safeties have a limited shelf life that may expire suddenly.  We don't know what the team does during the closed portions of practice and we don't know who they have prepared.  Some contributors in this forum have already identified some possible options (Benford, Neal, T. Johnson, etc.).  If they don't make a move at the trade deadline, they are comfortable with their current options.

  5. This trade tells me more about Sky Moore and Hardman than it does about Toney.  If either one of those two guys were playing well, the Chiefs would not have taken this kind of gamble.  I also believe that the Chiefs have come to the realization that they need to score more points to offset some obvious deficiencies on their defense.  This may also be an indication that KC is off OBJ's list of potential destinations and Toney is their plan "B".

  6. Hurts is making a lot of throws but not into tight windows.  When he plays against a talented secondary, his accuracy deficiencies will become more pronounced.  He is a good player and is fun to watch.  He is taking a bunch of big hits running near the goal line and I won't be surprised to see his season end early.

  7. Dual possession goes to the offensive player.  In this case that didn't come into play because Davis took full possession of the ball.  The ball was never solely possessed by Fitzpatrick and therefore was never an interception.  Had he pulled it completely away from Davis, it would have been an interception.  Fitzpatrick knew all of this and therefore didn't complain to the official that called it a touchdown.  The ruling on the play was really pretty straightforward.

  8. Mitch was playing behind a pathetic o-line.  The result was easily predictable.  Pickett will be taking some significant hits and is likely to miss some games.  We'll see how bad the o-line is this week.

If this is going to be credible at all, then the NFLPA needs to explain the mistakes that they claim he made.

They don’t actually have to prove anything to dismiss him. They can do that even if he made no mistakes at all.

The NFLPA and the league have contracts with these independent neurologists. They most likely have to be able to demonstrate cause to unilaterally terminate the contract.  If they can't demonstrate cause for termination or have a specific "employment at will" clause in the contract, this could end up in court with the neurologist claiming a breach of contract.  Being the cynic that I am, I suppose they could always pay off the neurologist to go away quietly.  I don't believe we will ever know the real story.

  10. Living in Florida, I have heard it all from Miami fans.  They are all over the spectrum but I would say a small majority believe that Tua should not have been allowed to return to the game on Sunday.  They also believe that the second injury was more severe due to the short time between the two.  These kinds of injuries accumulate because of the slow healing nature of the brain.  A third injury could be even more catastrophic. Some people believe that the Miami organization pressured people to allow Tua to play the second half last Sunday.  I have to admit the whole thing smells of Steven Ross involvement.

Another point of view that is often expressed is that Tua may be too fragile to play in the league.  It seems that every time he takes a hit, he is hurt.  Many people don't believe that he can stay on the field enough to lead a team to a championship.  There aren't widespread opinions to move on from Tua but I don't think many are far from getting to that.

  11. I've been to many Bills games in Miami.  Even in the down years for the Bills, the crowds have been pretty evenly split.  Bills fans are generally louder.  In recent years, Bills fans have the stadium to themselves by the end of the third quarter because the Miami people bail when their team is down.  Every stadium has their fair share of jerks who are looking to cause trouble.  Miami is no exception but they have fewer than other places I have gone ( Jests, KC, Steelers, Dallas, Chicago ).  It is really fun to see the home team having to go to a silent snap count because the Bills Mafia is rocking the place.  Looking forward to sending the Miami fans home crying again this year.

  12. A horrible or terrible week would be 17 in a walking boot holding a clip board on the sideline for week 1.  The "sky is falling" crowd needs to chill and look at the big picture.  Three million in dead cap money is small beans (unless it's your money), shipping away a drafted player because you found better linemen (some as free agents), and cutting a punter (6th round pick) when many other good options are available; are not big deals for any NFL team.
