I just hope they go out and play to win.

They aren't good enough to beat playoff teams otherwise.

Their 1st quarter offense has been PATHETIC all year and while McD may be comfortable punting the first 5 times his team he has the ball.........the defense he has built works better when the opponent falls behind and feels compelled to abandon the run.

Play it more like Thanksgiving in Dallas and not like the entire last month when their scoring offense was the worst in the NFL.

If they play it like Baltimore/Pittsburgh/New England games then I expect that the storyline will be about how embarrassing/disgusting the offense was and how not opening up the offense more in December games was a mistake.

Nothing else to say. Right on here

No 300 yard passing game expected. Winning on the ground will be critical, and the D and ST have been saving up their points to score for a while now! Balanced offensive attack, let our D be OUR D!

This. bills want change nothing now we should no this by now. We will make them play a smash mouth football game that they’re not use too. There D is soft and we need to punch them in the mouth on defense and slow the game down and run right down there throat that’s how we win that’s who we are. If we’re passing for over 300 yards we’re playing there game

I'm taking off Friday to simply prep for this matchup. No one has ever been more hyped than me for this playoff game. Watching at home to avoid embarrasment!

We have a pass rush when we want to have it............it's few and far between, but if they do it, it's golden. Due to the secondary.

We need to blitz Watson I think he can be confused

Great analysis by billsfan1959. Lamar is an anomaly, but it seems the more balanced offenses are the best. 4 of the top 5 rushing teams and 7 of the top 10 are in the playoffs.

So I tend to agree that this is not a passing league as 1 of the top 5 (KC) and only 3 of the top 10 passing teams made the playoffs.

The other factor to take into account is RB's catching the ball out of the backfield. RB's like McCaffrey, Eckeler, Kamara, Cohen, Fournette and TE's Kelce, Waller, Ertz, Kittle all had more REC than our #1 John Brown. The short passing game is more like running the ball. The completion percentage is much higher.

Why the Bills have not taken advantage of this with Yeldon and Singletary is beyond me. We seem to keep 90% of our passing game in the intermediate game, which is why it is so innefective. Josh Allen ranked #32 in completion percentage as he is forced to throw into tight windows where defenders know and anticipate the play. We failed miserably with the deep balls and took very few shots. We failed miserably with the screen game by not calling enough screens, RPO's and short passes. We had moderate success with the intermediate game with Brown and Beasley, but dropped balls stalled many a drive.  I really hope we see some diversity and new wrinkles in the offense this week or I pray that Cleveland is stupid enough to hire Daboll as a head coach.

I second that every team in the NFL runs screens or WR screens but we do none. We need to be on C’mon man for no screen plays

C’mon Man, if you’re going to start a thread with “Pick 3..”, provide a link to the possibilities. Otherwise, you’re wasting people’s time, making them look up your thread choices. I’ll give you a few minutes to edit the OP for your fellow Bills fans.

    Otherwise...

    This dude is something else.

The stubborn nature of these coaches is staggering. Duke rarely playing, but when he does he shines. Singletary not playing till late in the year. Yeldon gives this offense another dimension? So many odd decisions on offense by Daboll?

I just don’t understand it duke is the kind of WR that shines in game action 50/50 balls shields his self off from DB. Out running people and doing things in practice isn’t his game. The few times I’ve seen him reminds me of boldwin not fast doesn't run great routes but knows how to attack the ball. Ps we need that

I wish he would've gone for it on 4th and inches with 3:00 in the 3rd just after Allen's was stopped short on the keeper.

Granted, Bills were at their own 37 but at some point you have to be aggressive and let your players win the game.

That was the turning point in the game.

I was thinking same thing why not if you lose what dose it matter your still 5 seed I was hoping for bills to play fearless

    Disappointing.

i wasn’t a fan of the defensive game plan today.

Josh was definitely better than that 1st patriots game and did some encouraging things. But he still left some big throws on the field. He had Knox wide open twice for a TD and overthrew him badly both times. But he did some really good things too.

Ultimately, the Hills just aren’t ready to take the division from the patriots yet.

But the Bills are still ahead of schedule. Their window is just starting to open. The patriots is closing.

Patriots window been closing for 6 years lol  must be a ten story window

why create a hole at DT?

Re-sign Phillips to a 4 year, $55 million deal with a bunch guaranteed. We've got the cap space and he is young and has really bought into the system here.

Going forward you have Star, Oliver, Harry and Phillips at DT. That's a nice rotation.

It's time to stack some talent. Why have a great 26 year old DT who is playing extremely well, let him walk, then spend a high draft pick to replace him?

INSTEAD, keep that DT and then stack talent with that high round pick. We don't have the nutzo QB contract so take advantage of that!

This is were I am I think Philips will still play hard after getting paid he loves the crowd in buffalo and is young. Coach knows this guys pretty well and I trust him to pay the guys that will stay humble

    It's pretty easy.

    - being surrounded by people that love the same thing as you.

    - dedicating an entire day to the football experience.

    - drinking outside and hanging with your friends.

    - supporting a team when they're bad so you can wear it as a badge of honor when they're good.

You should be able to have a good time at the game no matter how bad the actual team is. I always do.

The Bills need to acquire a WR who is not only capable of being a #1 but is a complete WR and has some experience in the NFL to help Allen. The Bills should also draft one relatively high with deep speed (2nd - 3rd ideally). I think Gruden is ripe to trade Cooper, who is eligible for the 5th year option and then  will want big money. The Raiders have shown they are willing to trade talent they feel can be replaced in the draft or cheaper. I believe the Bills will need to trade for and pay - perhaps overpay in this current climate- to obtain a real WR at this point. I would also look to obtain a FA WR who is more of a #2 guy that another team won’t want to pay - ie Tyler Boyd. May need to overpay a bit there too but this is what bad teams sometimes need to do to get talent (Jacksonville has done this over the last few years).  I would go into next year with Cooper, Boyd, Zay and a rookie as the top 4.

What would I give up for Cooper? A 3rd in 2020, 4th in 2019, Shaq Lawson. I saw rumblings that a just a 4th or 5th would get it done for the Raiders, maybe I’m overvaluing him but i don’t buy it. Gruden has been whining about fnding a pass rusher, Shaq is someone who he will have the ability to plug in  and determine if he’s a guy they want, and has a 5th year option they can use since they won’t have Cooper’s. Bills and Raiders would basically be swapping 2015/2016 1st rd draft picks.

The bottom line as I’ve said many times is that drafting a WR in the 1st is a crap shoot.  I think they need to take a OT or Pass rusher with their 1st pick. Cooper is a top 10 talent who has been successful, maybe he’s not elite but those guys aren’t going to be available via trade or FA. You won’t get a big time FA WR to come to Buffalo who has options. Going to need to trade for one who has the talent to be a #1 and overpay a bit. We saw they were willing to work the trade for KB, that has not worked out but they saw the need and got who they could. He will be gone at the end of this season.

    Thoughts?

New to board but been a bills fan forever. And I would be all over a trade for a good wife out. I would part ways with a second to get a good wr would you rather have zay jones or cooper
