  1. I did only a quick browse through the thread and so may have missed it but has anyone tracked how many of Kincaid's snaps and catches were two TE sets or with Kincaid split out in the slot? I feel like the 11.5 personnel thing might be a failure at this point even though it's incredibly early for that. If so, the people who criticized the pick might end up being right even if Kincaid turns out to be really good (I think he will) given Knox is locked up. This goes to the point about how he's been used and his lackluster YAC and YPC.
  2. Hell no. This team hasn't proven anything, and the upside of a big win and homefield until AFC championship game is better than the downside of an injury that might put the nail in the coffin of an otherwise snakebitten season. This team desperately needs something really good to happen. Let's aim for that and hope for the best.
  3. Diggs is a magnate for conspiracy theories. Josh/McD are trying to send Diggs a message that they can win without him?
  4. Let's be real for a second and admit he doesn't deserve it based on his play. He has one signature win (Miami). He got his OC fired. We might still miss the playoffs despire currently ranking 4th in total points allowed. This wasn't even one of his top 3 seasons so far. I'd put last year's elbow injury season ahead of this one. Cam won MVP because Carolina won 15 games. Hurtz won 14. Lamar is going to win 13 or 14. But Purdy and Dak deserve it over Josh too. Go look at Dak's advanced passing stats. Ontgt% Dak is 2nd, Josh is 9th. Dak is 1st in bad throw%. These guys have way less turnovers which are a heck of lot more important than rushing TDs that you would've scored anyway giving it to your RB. Josh is a phenomenal player. He'll get his MVP in some other year. You can keep your fake MVP award that isn't deserved.
  5. If this was any other team, a big RB/FB would be getting those carries. We're using Josh because we have no choice. I guess you could say that helps make his MVP case but I think it's goosed his TD numbers. He shouldn't get MVP because we're using him as our lead RB inside five yards.
  6. This is about whether or not Josh deserved MVP, not who didn't do their job at the end of the game. We scored 16 vs. Jets, 20 vs. Jags, 18 vs. Bengals, 22 vs. Broncos...we almost lost that stupid Chargers game. We probably should've lost to the Chiefs and Giants given our lack of offensive punch. The total TD thing is a little misleading too. We started out the season not wanting to subject Josh to so many plays where he might get crushed on designed runs, leading to stingers, etc., which could've jeapardized our season last game. Thankfully not. Then Damien Harris went down and it eventually became obvious we needed to change up some things. It's not like Josh scored 15 rushing TDs from 20 yards out. Mots of those were inside the 5 because Cook is small and Murray is cooked. He's still a great player and easily one of the best in the L, but this isn't what an MVP season looks like imo. If anything, I think our defense deserves more credit given all the injuries.
  7. Dawkins is somewhat surprising but nice to see. Cook deserved this. Amazing how many doubters he had right from the start. I think Taron Johnson should make it every year.
  8. Josh didn't even make it as an alternate for the probowl. MVP talk has been ridiculous for a while now. His stats have overrated his overall play this season imo. Too many close games lost where he just didn't have it for long stretches.
  9. Josh has absolutely killed me in betting this year. I'm out on him winning MVP on that alone.
  10. I think Josh has basically zero chance. He's going to lead the league in turnovers and we're in all likelihood going to sneak in as a 7th seed. But more to the point, Josh doesn't deserve MVP. Like it or not, his hand-picked OC got fired mid-season. Our signature win of the year (Dallas) happened because of our run game and defense. Meanwhile, Josh has had some high profile bad games/plays. He might be a top 5 player in the league this year, but I don't think MVP is very realistic.
  11. Yeah Purdy has to be the favourite now with Dak getting punked Tua also got a boost with a great game minus Tyreke. Looking like a two man race at this point.
  12. He's still arguably our worst DL rotation guy. Fingers crossed though that he keeps improving.
  13. I think Bungles will drop out and Indy and Houston still have to play each other, so that should leave us 7th. But it's so crazy we could go 11-6 and miss.
  14. Josh isn't even going to get to 100 yards passing. Imagine someone telling you a month ago that we'd blow out the Cowboys while generating zero turnovers and Josh throwing for under 100 yards.
  15. It suddenly feels like 2021 again. What the heck.
  16. Fine. Call it a favour from the Chiefs. Point still stands.
  17. The only difference in this game compared to Eagles, Broncos, Pats, etc., is refs did us a huge favour at the end. It felt like we were trying to lose at times. I can't remember how many incompletions we had in a row around the 2 min mark. Go Bills, I guess. At least playoffs are now back on the table.
  18. We tried so hard to lose but it was just our time win.
  19. Right. Offense bungles away chance after chance to put the game out of reach, only to finally come through when we're absolutely desperate, and then the defense chokes on the last possession.
  20. So far this game is a repeat of much of our season. We get up early against a good team, and then slowly let them back in the game as they figure out what we're doing defensively, and Josh and the offense stop making big plays in the 2nd half.
  21. Is Diggs tradeable in any realistic and productive way? Edit: we're not going anywhere next year anyway. We need a rebuild and a 2nd would help with that. I don't love his contract. Edit2: same question with Milano.
  22. I said this other places but I'm apathetic about playoffs at this point. Even if we make it, this team is going nowhere. We can't stop tripping over ourselves, and the idea that we're going to now is to pretend like everything we've seen to date didn't happen. I feel like there's a been a death, and there has: current group's (very realistic) chances at a Superbowl. We could have won it any of the last three seasons. I blame bad luck. I blame McBeane (even though they're responsible for our shot). I blame everyone including myself for getting sucked in when I know better. At the same time, I'm grateful for the chance to cheer for a SB-worthy team, and in particular a SB-worthy player in Josh. I was so wrong about him. What a delight! But I can't get excited for the rest of these games. Our cap is F'd and we need to rebuild. We need a new coach. Most importantly, we need some new hope and that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
  23. Same themes keep reappearing which is a bad sign. Pegulas will keep McD around another year because of the extension but it's becoming clearer we might need to go in another direction. Even today, no one remembers that we came into the game with a great game plan. Hurts never saw so much zone. But then we didn't adjust when they did and as usual the floodgates opened when we couldn't hold them with our ultra-conservative brand of football. Edit: I want to see someone do the all 22 because it's hard to catch everything live...I remember we blitzed on Eagles drive to send to OT and Hurts got rushed into an incompletion. It was one of very few.
  24. He just did a big extension so like it or not he's going to be around for another year and probably two. But after years of being a McD apologist, I'm finally on board with moving on.
