  1. Gabe is a talented player that should have a spot on this offense, he's just not a top tier consistent #2. Both of these things can be true. We have the best QB in the NFL, you can't settle for the 9th best #2 that disappears for games at a time. The Hill-Waddle, Chase-Higgins offense is a reality. If Gabe can't be that top flight #2 next to our very clear, legendary #1, then I hope the Bills find somebody who can be next season.

To this team's credit I think they tried. It's not just Gabe that's been a bit disappointing, it's more so the Gabe-Knox-Crowder trifecta that's been really disappointing. I think everybody thought one or two of them would take the leap. It just really hasn't happened yet, so you've got to load up again next year however you can with a QB like Allen.

  2. It's just this board though. There's no criticism in the real world. And I think criticism is warranted, it's about as close to a Super Bowl or bust season as a lot of fans have ever known. If the Bills fall short his seat needs to get warm. However, there is a certain vocal contingent that have just about quintupled down on their McD hate and seemingly want to be right more than they want the team to be successful. Some have even vocally stated that he doesn't have it in him to take the team to the finish line, despite being in the middle of an 8-3 likely playoff bound season. Alright just fold it up then boys I guess, nothing left to see here.

Some of the reactions in his post game speech thread are a great example. Does McDermott engage in forced coach speak? Of course. He's even a little awkward. But the team clearly loves him and they're 8-3 right now. If your only reaction to that is hate then I really don't get it. I'd take the season off if I really felt like the guy was that much of a lost cause, I certainly wouldn't post about it 50 times after a win as if attempting to convince myself that he's no good.

I seriously wanna know where all these mythical amazing #2 wr's are. If feels like people just think they're all over the NFL. I'm bored so i went down through the divisions in my head and named out the 2's i would definitively take over davis.

    Waddle

    Higgins

    Mike Williams

    Devonta Smith

    Godwin

    Lockett

I'd debate Thielen(he's really fallen off but reliable), Aiyuk, and Marquise brown..... but i'm confused about what people requirements are for a #2(non-slot) wr.... seems like were just assuming most teams are having teammates each go for over 1000.... Take a look across the league. i would contend he's a top #2 option(with consistency issues)

This is probably correct but Buffalo's got a better QB than all of them. When you've got the best under center, you can't be content with your #2 falling somewhere in the maybe 8-15 range. At least three of those you listed have an even better counterpart, along with a solid young QB, so it can be done. Hard for fans not to want a similar WR group when your QB is a unicorn.

  4. I trust him as a vital piece of the offense that can go off for 3 TDs any game so yeah I trust him in general. I'm not sure I like him as a #2 though. 29 catches isn't very much, I'd love a more consistent option. WR depth in general is probably a bigger issue than Gabe himself though, so you've got to root for him because there truly isn't anybody else.

Today was a mixed bag for sure. I'll take the win under the difficult circumstances. The Bills were very fortunate to play the Browns who aren't good.

I just don't think this stuff flies this year. There is no dominating team this year and things are flipping week to week. You can't just completely dismiss a conference team like this. Chubb is arguably the best back in the league and Myles Garrett can destroy a game by himself. They caught the Bengals sleeping several weeks ago, are we gonna really turn the mental gymnastics up and call Cincy a bad team too? Why weren't they fortunate when they got whupped by Cleveland?

Nobody is routing teams like the 2010 Patriots. I think the problem with you and others is that you feel Buffalo has to destroy teams week in and week out for it to seem real, but the fact is that nobody is doing that right now, and nobody has really done that for years. If the Bills beat a "bad" (not really) Detroit team this week and move to 8-3 they'll be just as much in the hunt as anybody despite all of these weird message board asterisks.

  6. Same. I hate the Donkeys and thought it was hilarious how everybody talked them up this offseason. Some had them ranked as high as #2 in the AFC lolol cmon now. Writing was on the wall that Russ wasn't cooking much of anything but boiled hot dogs anymore, but I didn't even expect him to be this awful.

Some pretty awful football all around this week. Jets and Ravens looked terrible. I'll gladly take 6 field goals and the return of a run game, it was far prettier than what other teams with decent records put up this week. Nobody is dominating this season, although the Cowboys thumping Minny like that could be worth keeping an eye on. They're a better team than the Eagles when healthy.
