    Falcons are stupid terrible franchise.

Cousins was never that good and he will be hard pressed to even be ready for the start of next season.

    Dumb dumb dumb

Almost as stupid as Eagles wasting all that money on a RB.

    Two really stupid moves

Eagles about ready to fall apart.  They hate their HC and two of their best players just retired.

The Falcons are the Falcons it's got to be institutional at this point.

What if he goes to KC though

Why do people think this is a thing, he's not going there, he's not coming here, not the Texans, hell probably not even the ***** Jaguars even though they suck even still they're still to close to a step removed from being relevant enough in the conference for if they trade him there it blowing up in their face when they play them in the regular season for playoff seeding and even worse in the actual playoffs.

The Eagles are now paying Hurts and a RB $65M a year. You want to talk about a team whose window is closed, the eagles are it.

Wonder if the Eagles are planning on running the ball a lot still. 🤔

    just wow

He must have felt threatened by Russel Wilson for his title of "QB who is paid the most to do the least."

They fiddled, with his contract … why can’t they do it again If they extend him? They can still get his number for 2024 down further …

Is it technically possible, sure, it just would be extremely surprising for them to do that after having just been negotiating on it, have to imagine there might be some sort of agent/lawyer fees they could end up paying twice doing that.

    Dude tweeting "decisions, decisions."

    🤣

I mean the only thing that could possibly be at this point if it was even anything, which it probably isn't, would be a trade, he's already here this season and they just fiddled with his contract to figure it out, so that's really all it could be.

Seems much more likely players are goofing around after Dawkins.

Really interested to see the true numbers. I worry a bit about Dawkins' conditioning as he gets older but it's almost certainly going to free up cap space this year. He's supposed to cost $16.6M this year, maybe we cut that number in half.

I'm glad we didn't move on from a core team player like him that's been solid at that spot especially with no clear plan behind him, like that wouldn't have seemed smart. But not going to lie with all the gut wrenching heart and soul players we lost/losing this offseason that joke really kind of pisses me off.

Does everyone who requests a trade just use this as posturing? Not being sarcastic here, just wondering.

It is a part of the game and would obviously depend on why they're looking for the trade, if it's just contract then yeah it's just as much a tool for a new contract as it is for getting traded somewhere that will give them one.

But when someone gets tagged then the player is obviously going to want a negotiated deal whether it's on the current team or elsewhere.

Dummy diva players and their hubris: would rather be a number 1 on a crap team than play with a potential HOF QB and a winning organization.

Everybody that gets tagged wants a deal or a trade, being a diva has nothing to do with it.

It is a paycut. Players do it all the time if they know the alternative is a release and the risk of having to accept an even worse salary.

And typically I am against the paycuts Beane gives out, historically they have still ended up being a waste of money. But in this case it was the only realistic means of saving money on Knox's contract without tying up more future money.

If they get released and signed somewhere else they still get paid, that's why there's dead money right? Yes though players will make deals to stay on teams when they're on the edge of rosters, Knox is not on the edge of NFL rosters. Typically what's common is they move money around and the players actually benefit more from the restructure in some way and the can is kicked down the road, but they don't lose money.

Ever…..one of our players doing exactly that last week

As for Von the thing I could see him doing is he actually is getting close to the edge of the roster with his injury and off-field situation. Him changing things up is about putting himself in a position to have a shot at another season to secure his spot and with incentives to make up for it.
