Is it just me or does Star seem to be more active, more noticeable and even a little faster this season? I know his numbers don’t jump off the page, they never will, but I just feel like he’s making more of an impact compared to past seasons. Thoughts?

I agree. Seems more active, moving better, even showing some pass rush or at least pocket movement.

Josh Allen on 97 yard drive to start second half, “A long drive, it takes the wind out of their sails, for sure,” didn’t he get that wrong? Isn’t it “sail out of their winds”?

My son and I were talking a lot about that play - He is 14 and just getting into the understanding of football.  I really think Singletary did a terrible job with that route.

My guess is that is how he ran the route in practice in the past and it worked because against a non aggressive defense that coverage drops off half a step and gets caught up.  Singletary had to take a more aggressive step coming off the line to get his defender to back up and he had to get to the 1st down stick on the route.

The fact it was 4th down meant the D was more aggressive and the poor route doomed the play.  The worst part was that is a very tough throw and an even tougher catch and the Bills got that right, but the easy part - the route depth - they failed on.

The good thing though - at least it wasn’t the Miami play on their 1 that cost them both points, the ball, and ultimately the game.

If it is the play I think it is, it looked to me like Diggs was supposed to rub/pick the lb Davis. Davis avoided him, and  Allen's pass, while right to Singletary, didn't lead him so that he could turn it up field and try to outrun Davis to the sticks. I wasn't thrilled with the play call or the result but some credit to Davis for reading it right.

Living down in Houston I hear all the whining about the Texans.  I despize the ownership and think if they can manage to lose to a rookie HC and rookie QB, they have an excellent shot at 0-17 which is pretty hard to do it.  This game will be the best shot this year for the Texans to win. They lose this, likely be an underdog in every remaining game.   Looking forward to how inept both teams are.  I think Urban Meyers wont last more than 2 years, poor Trevor Lawrence.

I envy your enthusiasm. I actually do "get" that it is intriguing in an oddly dysfunctional, organizationally inept way. Lord knows the Bills have had those in the past. The great thing is there is no need to be nervous about outcomes. I actually hope Tyrod does well, if nothing else.

  4. Per many Bills beat writers. Here is Sal's Report:

Bills: Isaiah McKenzie took a shot from Jordan Poyer, who appeared to be trying to lay-up, but McKenzie ran into him pretty hard and stayed down on the field for several minutes being tended to by trainers. He walked off on his own but very much favoring his left shoulder area.

Either the Bills keep an extra WR, or they trade Stevenson, but no way he'll ever make it to the PS based on last weeks catch and this weeks PR for a TD.  Has Hodgins come back yet from his injury?

Zimmer did return to the game, my guess was a stinger.

Just wait till you see how the injuries and cuts work out before pronouncing on the state of the roster after next week's game. Many avenues of maneuvering to keep talent

  6. Does anyone have any information on the severity of his injury? I've been looking for info but have had no luck finding anything. I don't think anyone asked McD at the presser today about it either. He appeared to be fine during the Lions game and then all of a sudden he's in a walking boot thereafter. It seemed like he'd fill the Lee Smith blocking TE role but would be a better pass catching option than Smith was. They really have no one else that does that (I think Gilliam is too small for an in line blocking TE).
