  1. Hard to see a game write up without a mention of Milano and Poyer. Milano literally was all over the place making tackles, including a number for loss and Poyer had tough contested INT's that were game changing. They need to figure out the O line run blocking scheme sooner rather than later. They pretty much only move on the ground when Josh has the rock in his hand. Certainly seems the wide zone run plays work consistently better than anything between the tackles. If I see Moss on any 1 yard to go down get a ball with an up the middle run play I'll throw up. Total waste of a play. Spread them out and run it there if you must but with everyone drawn in and in power formations it is hopeless. Might need to find a temporary replacement for Gabe Davis to let his ankle heal. He is a shell of what we've seen he can be. With Crowder hurting (and totally ineffective today) and McKenzie concussed, they are going to have to re-jigger the receivers if both are out for any length of time and Davis remains ineffective. With the mediocre running attack and Davis hurting it seems like they are playing with a hand tied behind their back on offense. It was, nonetheless, a great win on the road against a team that is quite good I think. Looking forward to getting Oliver & Phillips  back healthy. They are impact players. Tre might not be too far behind either. On to the Steelers. Be interesting to see if it's Trubisky or the rookie.

Hi there. This year is finally it and my wife and I are coming to MNF vs Titans as our first ever live Bills game from Slovakia in Europe 😊 I appreciate some advice. I found this thread and figured I can us it instead of starting another one.

    1.       Things to see/do around. Anything worth visiting in wider area? I am talking mainly nature, but anything else might be interesting. We are coming from NYC and plan to stop at Watkins Glen. I’ve been to Niagara Falls in the past and surely check it again. This time I plan to spend more time there, and it seems that Devils Hole SP + Whirlpool SP, as well as Fort Niagara SP are nice place to visit. Anything else? I mean borh around Buffalo/Falls as well as on the way from NYC to Buffalo and back.

    2.       Things to see/do in Buffalo. Anything what is “must see” in Buffalo itself? Looking for any advice. Any park/museum/building/whatever worth seeing?

    3.       Wings and football. Sunday before game we’d like to watch other NFL games in some bar and obviously try wings 😊 There is already some advice on these bars in this thread, so just making sure – all these places have lots of TVs and you can watch football there, right? Any special recommendation with this in mind?

    4.       Tailgating. Just to understand how it works – if I come 3 hours before kickoff, is there a problem to find a parking lot? I guess there are many around stadium, so it is just about distance and price? How much should I expect? And then tailgating – all the parking lots are “open”, so we may just wander around and watch crazy Bills fans? Any chance that we as randoms get offered some wings from fans? 😊

Any advice (even about something I didn’t mention) is appreciated!

Buffalo has great architecture, particularly from the early 1900’s. Go to the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House complex on Jewett Parkway. The tour is worth it. One of the great architects of America has his masterwork in Buffalo. There are 3 buildings on a 1 acre campus in the middle of the City.

The guy that designed Central Park in NY did Delaware Park in Buffalo. The area behind the Art Museum on Elmwood is beautiful as is that whole surrounding area.

William McKinley was assassinated in Buffalo and Theodore Roosevelt was sworn in at the Wilcox Mansion on Delaware Ave. Worth going in. The houses on Delaware were single family from the early 1900’s when Buffalo was the 5th largest city in the country and are amazing to even just look at.

The wings are great everywhere in WNY pretty much. So is a lot of the architecture and history. Hope you have a blast!

I just gave you one article.  He did not test FA and re-signed with the Bills.  He wanted to stay in Buffalo.  You can look it up if you want.

There is a serious difference between "not testing free agency" and getting a fix on the market in advance of free agency and determining what is going to be a reasonable contract. It is agent malpractice not to do that.  I cannot help you if you don't understand that.

4 minutes ago, Rocky Landing said:

They signed McKenzie before the FA negotiating period. You should learn the rules of free agency before you start making these arguments.

If you don't think agents determine a market in advance of free agency you are naive.

Beane has done exactly that (during training camp, no less), for picks..  I'm not saying they should do it, I'm describing a conversation 2BD was having, re: would he do it again this summer.

With that being the premise, I wonder which player would generate the most interest and therefore value.  So I mentioned McKenzie, for the obvious reasons I cited.

    Cheeel Win--staahn.

Most of those vets were marginal o line prospects he was going to cut EXCEPT for the early contract gut jobs with Watkins, Dareus et al. Totally different circumstance now and, hey, explain why all the teams in the league passed on McKenzie in the off season? And slots are a dime a dozen

  5. 20 minutes ago, ColoradoBills said:

Yes.  A few days earlier on a 2-year deal.

So the implication is that McKenzie’s agent didn’t attempt to figure out his market and just signed with the Bills for whatever they offered? For guaranteed money of only $1.25 million? Gee must have sold him way short seeing as how we have people thinking teams will trade high end picks for him now when they could have had him for peanuts in the off season (except for the “deceitful” agent that kept all these sparkling offers from him).

  6. 8 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said:

Lol they just got him as a FA on a 1 year contract.  He has zero trade value.

Because they would be fine without him.  Plus he’s the one guy other teams might see trade value in.

They're gearing up for a Super Bowl run. You don't trade veterans, especially guys that are popular in the locker room, you acquire them. In addition, he's starting as your slot receiver, might be their best player in camp and has something they lack (speed). With Beasley gone, you have no idea what McKenzie will be like this year with increased playing time. No thanks to a mid round pick at best for that. ANY team that wanted McKenzie could have had him in the off season. He was a free agent. The league told you what they thought by passing.

Listened to 2 bills drive a bit yesterday and then were wondering if the Beane would be looking to trade for picks.  They mentioned Sammy and Darby in the past.

McKenzie was the first guy I thought of as a possible trade. He's getting lots of reps and hype in camp.

He's about the only true speed they have in this offense. Why on earth would you want to move him? They need more like him not less

After traveling around the U.S. a little, I returned to Buffalo once and was surprised at how small my hometown was compared to the bigger American metropolises.

But driving around Buffalo on another return, I was amazed at how much beautiful architecture Buffalo has.  And saddened how much of it was in decay (or already lost).  For example, two Frank Lloyd Wright houses still exist but his Larkin building has been torn down.

Weirdly, I go to Parkside Candy nearly every time I visit Buffalo.  Beside enjoying their chocolate and sponge candy, I feel like I'm visiting a Buffalo in a microcosm.  Such a beautiful but decrepit old store that deserves much better care.

The preservation efforts were not good until relatively recently. While you are correct about the Larkin Building, there is a one acre campus with 3 Wright buildings in the middle of the beautiful Parkside neighborhood (main Darwin Martin House, Barton House, Gardner's cottage). There are very few cities in the country that can offer that. Strongly recommend the full tour of all 3 houses.

In addition, the HH Richardson tower and complex(the old Buffalo Psych Center), Louis Sullivan's The Guaranty building (he was Wright's original boss), Eero's Saarinen's Kleinhans Music Hall, Frederick Law Olmstead, designer of Central Park in NY did Delaware Park in Buffalo including Forest Lawn Cemetery (a beautiful place to walk and noted for quite a few famous people being buried there, including but not limited to these: https://www.visitbuffaloniagara.com/7-famous-residents-of-forest-lawn-cemetery/), blocks and blocks of Victorian Houses in Elmwood Village (it's like walking through a different era in history), The Albright Knox Art gallery (on the National Registry of Historic Places), the Theodore Roosevelt Mansion on Delaware Ave. where Roosevelt was sworn in after McKinley was assassinated and many many beautiful mansions that line Delaware Ave. The industrialists of old that lived there at one point owned all the land from Delaware Avenue to the Niagara River and there are more architectural attractions as well. Buffalo may be old and small but it's architecture is outstanding. Architectural tourism in this town has become a major tourist draw. It literally is one of the major component's of the future of this area. They don't build them like this any more and very few of the newer American cities have anything like it.

  9. Sheer number of tough games in a brutal conference. What is their focus going to be like from game to game? Cannot half ass games as they did a few times last season with this schedule this year

Something happened along the way as Brown went from Bills reporter to Bills TV/radio personality. I LOVED his concise bb.com video reports over the years. He was measured and on-task. Let the content be the story (as was his job).

But now he's...louder. One might say he's too often...shrill.

Don't get me started on Tasker's meandering and recursive ramblings. Sharp, funny guy who doesn't translate as such most of the time.

Shrill is absolutely the right word. Talk like a human and stop shrieking like a gibbon overdosing on coffee. Jeesh it’s annoying.

Puke. Another overpay for a guy that plays mostly special teams. Any UDFA can do what he does. He is a decent player that can get a contract like that when you don't have superstars to pay. Beane is not evolving.

It won’t be even close to an overpay as the cap goes skyrocketing. Better get used to seeing much bigger annualized numbers on every position including ST.
