And even though I think it would be bad value from a cap standpoint and what we'd have to give up for Davante Adams, if we only gave up maybe a third rounder, I guess I would be more inclined to be semi okay with it depending on what the cap implications were once we adjusted his contract and how many more years we ended up being attached to him, he's already 32 years old. We have enough dead cap and bad contracts already. I don't trust Beane with negotiating any type of contracts like this, especially if they also include trading draft capital. We are usually on the losing end of those types of trades where we're in a bind and in a situation that should have been solved a long time ago, but now he's pressured to do something because of the obvious lack of addressing these issues for years and he gives up too much or pays too much... or both! Remember all the big name receivers in free agency that apparently everyone wanted like OBJ who the Bill's would have overpaid for like other contracts Beane has negotiated, OBJ has done nothing (a name and nothing more, passed his prime with way too many injuries historically)! Same with DeAndre Hopkins who has done better, but nothing to write home about and he would have been extremely expensive. Looking back obviously, if we did obtained either of those guys, it would have probably done very little for us in moving the needle, yet the Bill's would have been stuck with more bad contracts on older players for a few more years. Not really what we need, we need to draft young fast wide receivers and we should have been doing that for the last 7 years as I've said ad nauseam given the talent that Josh possesses with the time he's here. Beane has criminally under invested in weapons for him unfortunately. I would prefer to use the two 2nd rounders in draft capital to take a shot at a couple young fast wide receivers or bundling one or two to move up in the first round to get in a better position to draft someone that has a higher probability of succeeding short & long term (although there are no sure bets for certain in any round but the higher the round, the higher the probability of success typically) where we know we have that wide receiver or receivers on a low cap number for quite a few years and someone who's much younger.

Home run if he catches it, but Diggs was wide open about 12 yards out in the middle of the field for an automatic first down and then we get three more downs where we weren't that far from the end zone after that play. Taking the higher probability easy first down would have made it much more realistic in possibly scoring rather than going for a more difficult pass to complete and a higher chance of it going incomplete. DB's were blanking a lot of the wide receivers in the end zone and of course the opportunity for somebody to get in the backfield and disrupt Josh was more probable, which is exactly what happened as he held onto the ball too long rather than taking an easy first down and getting the ball out of his hands quicker with Diggs wide open. Once he had that lay up first down, now he has three to four more downs and he can take a couple shots in the end zone without being one and done... he would have had three or four more tries if needed!!! Much smarter decision making by doing just that and a much higher probability of winning the damn game, which is what we wanted to do obviously, but that's not what Josh did unfortunately and what transpired sadly. The same ending per usual, just a different year whether it's the Chiefs or the Bengals... stupid decision making at the end of the the most important games during the playoffs that really count, which has been a perpetual theme of McDermott's teams and heartbreaking as a long time fan!

And for the record, I'm at the top of the mountain screaming for premier wide receivers every year in the draft or even in a trade if it makes sense and he's not over the hill or has a huge attitude problem. I just don't think Davante Adams based on what we'd have to give up for him, how old he is and his cap numbers even if we restructured it, would make the best sense at this point in the season. Would he make us better on offense, absolutely! Could it end up being the missing piece and all that we would need, probably not.

We are paying $30 plus million for Diggs, yet we don't have the player to play, we just signed Samuels to a 3 year deal of $30 million ($15 guaranteed) and we are now going to trade him away after ONE YEAR as well because the genius coaching staff couldn't figure out how to use him properly... AND also lose a 2nd round pick for a 32 year old injuried wide receiver who's not that fast either! We're paying $120 million for defensive end that rarely plays year after year. How many incompetent moves is Beane going to make by being wrong with the players he already obtained or traded for or let go, over paying for them and then getting rid of the player for nothing that moves the needle... or eating the entire horrible contract??? I mean we just extended Diggs and paid him more money and then got rid of him shortly afterwards and have to eat that whole contract within a year, how idiotic can you be and then there's the Von Miller debacle. Eventually you kind of question the decision making here because over the years a lot of things are starting to add up that don't make a whole heck of a lot of prudent sense and you start to question his ability and competence (including McDermott). And Josh has to start learning and playing better as well, he's making the same stupid decisions often times that he's made every year. You would think at this point, he would be a little bit more savvy with quite a bit of experience in the league at this stage and know when to take the first down versus the home run play, take the easier open play that may result in less yards but continues to move us forward or maybe take the check down and eventually get us three additional downs rather than going for the home run hit. For example, like he did in the Kansas City playoff game when Diggs was completely wide open for the first down in the middle (and we would have had three more Downs and tries for a touchdown), yet he goes for the highly difficult home run throw in the end zone for a touchdown and if you don't hit on that one play, at that point the game, it's over & we lose. He had much better odds of winning the game if he would have took the easier and higher probability play for the first down. One shot or go home versus three more tries and probably win!

Adams is injured as well!!! Which makes it even more absurd!

Horrible trade value. If Brady can't figure out how to use Samuel all of a sudden, he's probably not going to be able to figure out how to use Davante Adams and then we're giving away a second round pick as well? Ridiculous if that was reality and what happens!

Yes... these are basically my thoughts as well. He's a good wide receiver, but he's 32 years old and we'd have to give up a lot to get him, plus take on a huge cap number even if restructured assuming we kept him for a few years and it would probably end up as another colossal mistake like Von Miller, which I said right when he was drafted here on this board... yet most everybody was screaming and yelling how great it was to get Von Miller. That was a monumental mistake and it cost us immensely; 120 million in cap space, he's done basically nothing since he's been here and has strapped our ability to do other things on the offense that are needed. What Beane should have done in this last draft is draft another young fast wide receiver after he drafted Coleman (who's big and slow), which wasn't my top pick to begin with, but per usual, he didn't when there were still a lot of great options into the 3rd & even 4th round. This was the year to grab a couple top wide receivers because the draft was full of talent in that area. There were many fast and quality wide receivers still on the board (and we need outside speed at the position and have needed that for years) that we could have gotten after Coleman into the next couple rounds. However, unfortunately per usual with Beane, he drafted a collection of middling players that probably won't amount to much or move the needle on defense with McDermott I'm sure forcing him and pulling the strings in that area like he's done every year. I don't think that we need 20 defensive linemen in rotation every few plays throughout every game (and none of the ones that we've constantly overdrafted have been game changers)! Beane has been good in the third and fourth rounds generally on the defensive side, but it's a crime that he has not gotten multiple young high quality receiving weapons for Josh since the beginning. He's had plenty of chances and he passed up on Metcalf as well (a huge miss and he instead drafted an offensive lineman, which was a big bust & we all know who that was). It wasn't like you had to be an absolute guru to realize that Metcalf was probably a better pick, especially considering the value in the round where he was still available coupled with our needs at the position that year like almost every year since we've gotten Josh. Most of us know that the Bill's need more high quality fast wide receivers, but Beane should have been doing that for years via the draft and taking shots every year for the last 7 years in the spring using our first and/or 2nd rounders until he got it right and we had two premier wide receivers like many great offenses and teams do currently. He's done nothing in that department really except the Diggs trade and a few mid round middling receivers that didn't or haven't amounted to much (meaning they haven't moved the needle and it's not enough for what Josh and the offense has needed for years). He grabs a collection of misfits & nobody's on the cheap every year in free agency to add in that area and assumes it's going to fill the obvious wide receiver void and be enough because he's overspent and made some poor decisions spending money on other signings. Regarding Brady, I'm not sold on him either as the offensive coordinator, but time will tell. And for the life of me, I don't understand how Samuel is not being used basically at all, he's a ghost. He's had like five catches this year. It's ridiculous that Brady all of a sudden seems to have forgotten how to use him or even use him as a normal wide receiver!!! And MVS should have a few nice catches a game at the very least, yet he doesn't seem to know how to use him either. We obviously need to do something at the wide receiver position asap, but it's probably too late this year and we should have never been in this position to begin with because most people that follow the Bill's closely could have seen this coming a mile away. If we did anything mid-year, I would probably prefer Amari Cooper who's younger, faster and has had great production (in certain years, his production has been better than Davante Adams), plus he wouldn't nearly cost us as much. Always chasing a big name that's past his prime every year and giving up a lot to get him because you failed to address the situation previously or in the draft where you pay way too much is not prudent. Rant off...!

You need an option for both!

Really, has McDummy ever made the right decision or the correct adjustment or play call when it's really needed? I guess I can count on maybe one finger. And Terry Pegula will never make any changes because he's way too comfortable in this long-standing organizational structure in place where he doesn't have to do much and they've gotten to the playoffs. Insanity, we continue to do the same thing over and over again with of course, the same results!

How many chances did we have to win that game and the whole team especially the offense, Brady and McDermott blows it with consistently dumb decision making. Beane doesn't get a pass either constantly year after year not providing Josh and the offense with any real decent weapons besides Diggs. The only word that sums it up as I've said a zillion times, is just pathetic and embarrassing week after week year after year. The typical Billsy ending.

This coaching staff is garbage and has been for a long time. Just enough in a bad division to get to the playoffs but constant poor decisions and completely clueless!

I don't care who it is or even out of the backfield, start throwing the damn ball, this is just ridiculous... Cook up the middle every damn play or these 2-yard passes isn't going to get it done. Figure it out Brady and offense!

Where the heck is Kincaid, Knox, MVS and Curtis Samuel. Curtis Samuel has been a ghost all year, so has MVS... I thought Brady knew how to utilize Curtis Samuel and when he played with him before he had his best year. What the hell is going on here with this offense and defense. The defense gets a little bit of a pass because of all the injuries, but I'm not sold on Babich yet, but Josh and this offense with Brady, looks like unpracticed flag football.

And what is McDummy doing, walking around and clapping... how about some ***** coaching!

This is absolutely bizarre and pathetic, from the coaching, to the offense, the defense and the effort by the players. This team looks like horseshit. Josh looks like he's playing like a rookie in his first year.

Cook up the middle again for a yard. I mean he's played great and I'm glad that we have a running game, but this play calling is pathetic, we're going to be down by 30 points here shortly if they don't get the passing game going. WTF! Does Brady actually know how to call anything besides cook up the middle or design anything with two tight end sets and wide receivers out wide.

And so what do we do after another pathetic defensive effort on offense, we run cook again up the middle now that we're down by almost 14 points. This is embarrassing!

And we certainly have some decent tight ends and running backs that can catch, plus Samuel hasn't all of a sudden become someone who can't play. Brady just doesn't seem to know what the ***** he's designing and calling on offense because it's ridiculous.

I have never seen a passing game that's been so poor in its execution and design. It's Pathetic and Josh all of a sudden, doesn't seem to be able to hit anybody beyond 5 yards and some of it has to do with the receivers because there's no separation.

Josh needs to get his ***** together, looks nervous and has been making stupid decisions on where to go with the ball for most of the season. And Brady needs to start calling a better game and stop being so predictable, run plays on every single down! Our offense has looked pathetic as anyone that watches the game knows, we need wide receivers that can actually separate, catch the ball and play. It's ridiculous with a quarterback like Josh that we don't have any decent wide receivers. They've had many chances year after year in free agency and in the draft. Frustrating!

Exactly, this was so predictable with Worthy. Another idiotic draft move from us. I like Coleman, but he wasn't certainly my top choice of what was available (and then not grabbing another faster receiver when they were so many available into the third and fourth rounds was stupid in my humble opinion, especially with some of the people they picked in later rounds). Although, I think Coleman is going to be good, but giving the Chiefs Mahomes AND Worthy has and will continue to haunt us for years to come. Certainly would be more than happy to be wrong, but you don't give somebody like Andy Reid another Tyreek Hill that's even faster and has that type of burst/speed with his creativity on the offensive side of the ball.
