EJ had 2 tds, 0 ints, and left the field with the lead against the Pats.  Allen’s stats (obviously not all on him) aren’t completely awful because of garbage time when the Chargers were just trying to catch their flight.

that said, as awful as their development plan was with Allen, they can’t plug him now.

So first drive of the second half they were trying to catch their flight, awesome anaylisis ? SMH...

    LOL coming from you.....just LOL

Seriously ALL QBS DO THIS......I honestly dont get why YOU dont get that....you ignore QB play by the rest of the league where QBs make these throws and their WR's are required to make a play on a ball that is area code accurate.......ALL QBS THROW THESE KIND OF PASSES

SOME of the throws were like this....there were also balls that were decently accurate and dropped

    Your typical hogwash

Or he is gonna get better with more playing time or maybe even with better pass catching targets (ours are bad) next year?  A much more realistic look then your punchbowl piss

A totally different situation.....Josh Allen pulls the trigger and is willing to work from the pocket when there actually is one.

Just like every rookie QB that is currently playing.  And he already looks much better then he did at Wyoming

Fadingbrain is a top 5 worst poster here with an anti Allen agenda. Best left ignored...

Lol I watched a lot worse games than that played by my Pats.  The Jags played like the t was their playoff game, the Pats played slow and as if they just wanted get out of the heat..

oh and I would love see how Bortles would have been if Brady didn’t fumble and they even just kicked the FG make it an 8 point game. My guess? Bortles reverts to Bortles... and pees down his leg..

i also know our time is almost almost done With brady.. and if and when we go back to 8-8 or 1-15 I’ll still cheer for them and pray anyone but the Jets win the division.

Your guess would be wrong, your time is almost over, if not for poor officiating, you lost the play off game with them last year.

Yeah I'm honestly not even following Dareus at all with the Jags. I don't even know who they have in the trenches tbh. They do have Calais Campbell correct? Big fan.

Anyways I have to imagine Marrone is working on Dareus. Probably knows Dareus in his next contract year will be a new animal. Not sure when that'll be, but good lord if that happens, that defense could be elite at literally every position. If not, no biggie, he's out. I'd also argue Marrone a strong enough coach not to let some primadonna DT with a poor attitude affects how the defense plays.

I just think that sort of confidence and bringing in a underperforming primadonna talented player is worth something given that the Jaguars defense is Studley regardless.

I realize this is a really stupid argument to make but I think it's sort of shows that Marone can deal with Jalen Ramsey type players while I feel like McDermott would trade him away following his preseason stupidity

You may be right, I think they get (Beane and Mc) one more year with a lot of picks and real cap money before I fully judge them. I will admit I don’t fully understand the moves they made unless they truly wanted a top 3 or even a top pick. But the cupboard is so bare, one year isn’t going to solve it...

Yeah Doug Marrone can get production out of Dareus. I don't care if somebody is a lazy good for nothing squander of immense talent, that probably smokes weed too much and talks back to his coach.. if he's talented.

LAWRENCE TAYLOR WOULDN'T BE A PROCESS PLAYER. You know what that tells me, McD is too chicken**** to do a large portion of his job description (motivating spoiled brats with money to play football) that he gives up and gives the character excuse.

I:d take a coach that can get a cracked out 3 nights sleepless LT to be a monster and get 7 sacks over a coach that's too scared of one of the best players ever.

Beane takes the easy way out by claiming he has a process 5-6 years so he has a rats *** of retaining his job. McD takes the easy way out refusing to work with difficult talent. Andre Holmes must spend his free time saving puppies to justify his spot. I'm sure he's really "coachable" but he's a crap receiver. McD would be terrified of Randy Moss. Rebuilding a team on character isn't what a good team does. They rebuild on players that regardless of what they do in their free time; they can be motivated by a good coach to beat ass on Sunday and cocaine binge to celebrate.

If production is 3 tackles from an alleged all pro, ok I guess that’s impressive. I watched the whole game yesterday and I wasn’t sure he was dressed to play...

You can’t be right and root for the Bills even when they screw up? Why are these things mutually exclusive? Should fans just stick their heads in the sand and pretend they’ve done a good job?

Hold the team accountable. If they do a good job, applaud them. If they screw things up call them out on it.

It’s the game day thread and not the place for that discussion.

McCoy had one edge rusher to beat in open space which he did (because the guy thought he had the ball). Instead Allen kept it, got chased out and threw it into double coverage. Pretty sure the right call was Shady there.

No he was about to be tackled, the guy let up and pursued Allan when he didn’t give McCoy the ball, the play was blocked poorly and was no win...

Another thing...Allen makes terrible decisions on the read option. He takes away a sure fire TD from McCoy in the preseason. He pulls the hand off back from McCoy in that FG drive this game only to get sacked. Now he hands off to Murphy when he has a runway to the left for a first down. He's literally guessing out there on the read options.

It was not a sure fire TD for McCoy, he would have been tackled if Allen gave him the ball. Go watch it again before you make false comments...

Oh, he is gonna get his ass handed to him and sometimes look as bad as Peterman doing so, but as far as debuts go, he gets a good grade. As I said, his most impressive feat didn’t involve any play at all; it was coming back strong immediately after screwing the pooch so spectacularly on a national stage on his very first play as a pro.

It’s hard to imagine he fixed all his flaws so quickly. But it does show you the importance of a good Oline and competent receivers...

The jealousy in this thread is strong. But why? We have our own young QB to rally around. Are we that insecure that we have to disparage a fine debut performance by another rookie QB?

Are we arguing that it's not a "fine" debut performance? If that's the case, people don't know as much as they think they do.

It certainly was a fine performance, are there areas of concern? Possibly. But getting a start behind an offensive line that was very good for him and a defense that not only stopped the opposition but gave him points certainly made the pressure almost negligible. The man almost faced no pressure on most plays and almost always had wide open receivers to throw too. What will happen when he faces a ferocious pass rush his line can’t  handle will be the real test. But for now, it looks like the Jets will be a team to reckon with for some time...
